Mario Party has lost its touch ;-; I mean, they're fun and okay I guess, but... nothing new and that great has really been added to them other their nine games. (I mean, yes they've changed stuff, but nothing that new and ground-breaking that really added SO MUCH to the series, IMO.)

Paper Mario 4 would be great :3 I don't know if I want an action/adventure or RPG, though...

It seems a bit early for Mario and Luigi RPG 4.

Maybe it'll be a Mario sport? Have we had one of those in a while? :yuusaku:

I'd like a new Mario Party if they actually changed something for once, and not have every mini-game's instructions be, "Tap A as fast as you can!!!!!111!"

As for BP's sport idea, maybe a new Mario Tennis, the really only playable Mario sport game.

I hope to god it isn't MP9. The Mario Party series stopped being challenging after 3. Paper Mario 4 would be awesome, but I don't know how the general audience would receive yet ANOTHER Paper Mario. It certainly is not M&L 4, because the Mario & Luigi series was meant to be a trilogy.

That doesn't even make sense. The stories don't connect apart from cameos and brought-over characters, and the Shroobs were invented all-new too.

I always played the 'standard' Mario games as Luigi (where possible).
Though really having given it more thought I'd rather he got a Paper Luigi story maybe with transformations into the Mysterious Mr L for added thunder power.

As much as I hate to take things literally, they did say a new Mario game. As much as I'd love a new Luigi game, Wario game, or even to some extent a Waluigi game, the chances of them meaning 'New Mario Bros. game' over 'New game for Mario', is slim.

I want a Luigi game for sure though, because neither of the two games he was in were that good.

As much as I would LOVE for it to be Super Mario RPG 2, I'd say the chances of that are close to non-existent :nixiesob:

To be honest, the first thing I thought of when I heard about this was the next entry in their line of 3-D platformers (in other words, what will come after Galaxy 2), and I was pretty excited because I just didn't care for Galaxy that much. :nick:

Unfortunately, since Galaxy 2 isn't even out yet, it's almost definitely not that either.

My last and greatest hope is for Paper Mario 3! (A REAL RPG please, not that platformer-RPG hybrid crap we got last time. :igarashi:

)

Paper Luigi could be hilarious if his adventures were anything like they were in Thousand Year Door. But Paper Wario? Sounds like Bowser's Inside Story all over again, with his dialogue limited to "Stop using so many words," "Yeaaaah, I'm so awesome!" and "Ah, whatever, I don't care. I'll just do x." :kikzou:

Except the minigames after 3 became too easy, and the boardgame portion wasn't fun ever.

The first one was fun because the entire game was a new concept. The second one was fun because they added new minigames, boards, and items. The third one was fun because of a difinitive story mode, new kinds of spaces, and freaking DUEL mode. Every other new game f'd up the items, and made DK a sort of ANTI-Bowser. Seriously. What. The. Hell. It almost drives me to tears.

It's gonna be a Mario FPS. Nintendo got tired of Halo getting all the glory so they want to cash in. Oh and it will probably have Nazi or atleast the Mushroom Kingdom equivelent.

Meh, played it download at a friend's house, it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't pay much more than $10-15 for it.

Hey, that was a good (for the series) game! Except the minigames that ridiculously favour the computers.

Anyway, it's probably be Mario (insert sport here) (insert number or subtitle here).

And by the way, it was Galaxy 2 that was announced. NSMB2 = NSMB Wii.

I would personally hope it's a Paper Mario RPG. Something in the vein of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door. For some reason that game was well, the shits, and they went and made a shit "sequel" for the Wii.

Yeah, although I really enjoyed Super Paper Mario, it just doesn't hold up to the others. The plot is excellent but it gets tedious to play, especially if you've already beaten it once. So another true Paper Mario RPG would be wonderful.

I agree, an actual sequel to the actual Paper Mario series (not Super Paper Mario 2, please) would be great.

Off-topic, but is there a "NEW PLAY CONTROL! Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door"? I could never play TYD, and loved PM. I just know SPM isn't anything like PM1.

I hate to break it to you, but
Paper Mario>Thousand Year Door>Super Paper Mario.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Super Paper Mario, but afterwards, you ask yourself whether or not you would consider this to be a new component to the PM series. After looking at this literal real-time action game, you come to the conclusion that it isn't. Though obviously, to Nintendo, that was the third one. And Nintendo hasn't made anything past threeseis besides Mario Party, and look how that turned out.

Obviously meaning that the source uncovered that Galaxy 2, Pikmin 3, Metroid: Other M, and LOZ Wii are the only announced games from Nintendo within the next demi-decade. Though I know for a fact that Kirby Wii is coming out sometime within the decade... :yuusaku:
