Yes, because we've all had that one point in time where you want to break the controller...because what you did was your own fault. Share yours!

Me? Well, way back when in the N64 days, Super Mario64, the very first time I FINALLY beat the Big Penguin race, I went out the cabin door instead of waiting for him to finish for my Starman. =_=

One in Pokemon Diamond that drove me MAD.

So, you get a Happiny, right? Well, I wanted a Chansey and so I traded a rare pokemon. (I forget the name.) After the trade, I realized Happiny evolved into Chansey.

HAHAH! I did the EXACT same thing!

Also, recently in Super Mario Galaxy, when I was looking for those purple coins I couldn't find the final coin. So, I searched for a long time until I finally found it, but then I fell into a black hole! <_<

Getting into one of the hidden rooms inside Echo Base to find a Challenge Point, suddenly realizing there's a wampa right beside me and jumping into the nearest pit to escape it. Bad idea.

I loved the kar98k. Too much, in fact. On multiple occasions I would fawn over one that was lying in the corner, deciding which of my weapons to switch out for it, and then get mowed down by German MPs.

Wow.

Stupidest? I think it was in Resistance: Fall of Man. I shot a big barrel of flammable chemicals, noticed that it had caught on fire, waited a few seconds, and still died in the resulting explosion. Aren't I smart?

Both are from my first play throughs on the first and second Phoenix Wright games...I'll put them in spoilers just in case.

Spoiler:
In case 1-5 in AA, I fell for Gant's trap....and presented the evidence at the wrong time.

In case 2-4 in JFA, I accidentally pressed the wrong profile at the end of the case and got the "Miracle never happen" ending.

I think it was back in my Sega days. I somehow managed to get to the big boss in Streets of Rage II(or was it III? :shy: )

I answered Yes and immediately got booted back to like the 6th level or something only to go through it all over again. :yuusaku:

whenever my friend finishes a song in guitar hero 3, he just sort of "rocks out" by struming as fast as he can and jumping up and down when he finishes a song.

so he finishes some difficult song (can't remember which), and starts jamming. only problem is, the song hadn't quite ended yet, and counted all his strums as missed notes, he failed out at 100% complete. I laughed so hard

Boktai 3- First of all, the game is in Japanese (which, in my defense, I can't read one bit of). Anyway, I was at a friend's house and I'd just beaten the second-to-last boss, Ratatosk. After you beat him, instead of dragging the coffin back to the Piledriver like with the other bosses, Otenko asks you a question with two possible answers. Having no clue what he was asking, I chose the first option, hoping it would help me. Turns out what the first answer does is summon the Piledriver right there without giving you a chance to save. For those of you who don't know, the Piledriver is the thing in the GBA Boktai games where you purify a boss using sunlight, or just any UV light. Problem was, neither of those was available at the time (it was night), and I didn't want to fight this guy again because he was really freaking annoying, so my only choice was to leave it in sleep mode until I got home a while later.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon- I made the mistake of accepting an escort mission in an auto-saving dungeon and bringing items I thought I might need. Lost them all when my idiot client stepped on a Pitfall trap (WHICH I'D JUST UNCOVERED, RIGHT NEXT TO THE STAIRS TO THE LAST FLOOR I NEEDED TO GO TO), killing itself and failing me the mission.

Boktai 2- A word of advice, AVOID DARK LOANS LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you're rich and save very frequently and don't die a lot! When you die, instead of taking you all the way to your last save point, it gives you the option of paying a small amount of Soll (your money as well as weapon energy) to just start back at the door to the room where you died. If you're like me and being inhumanly careless without saving anywhere near as much as you should, you run out and have to start borrowing from Dark Loans. So anyway, I somehow ended up owing over 3000 Soll (which takes a while to accumulate) and hadn't even started to pay it back after the 3 days they give you. When that happens, :uramidn: (okay, Doomy) sticks you on a treadmill that generates the Soll that you need to pay back. I WAS ON THAT FREAKIN' THING FOR AN HOUR. IT KILLED MY THUMB AND EVEN MY BROTHER'S AND MOM'S THUMBS. Really pretty darn pathetic, since Boktai 2 isn't even anywhere near that hard of a game.

In tales of Phantasia, I got lost in the forest (forget name) and I thought I didn't need a guide. IT TOOK ME SO LONG JUST TO FIND THE ENTRANCE AGAIN.

In Super Mario Galaxy, I was ice skating, and jumped off a platform thinking I could make it to another one, missed by a mile and fell into a black hole of doom.

In advance wars, I didn't know I could build tanks, so I kept just building infantry until I had repeated defeats. Then I figured it out. :meekins:

Mine's Galaxy related too.

Remember Ray Surfing 101? The HUGE turn near the end? I kinda jumped, trying to get more time shaved off, and I ended up twisting before the turn, and just falling right off the side. I literally facepalmed so hard it hurt.

I was playing an army game, and had to flick a grenade in the wii remote zapper. I flicked it and the remote went flying at the big screen, and it fell like an INCH before it hit the screen and crashed into the shelf beneath the TV!
Lol, stupidest thing I done in a game...

And another one, in Hotel Dusk, near the ending. I spent like a n hour trying to find that secret door when you're with Louise... UGH! Then I put it away for a year, maybe less. I start it up again and instantly find the door. Lol, stupid :P

I don't usually make mistakes, but there was a time in PW where I was stuck on a testimony while playing during lunch at school... I got so frustrated that I had to call up one of my friends, who had no school that day, and ask them what the contradiction was.

... Turns out that I forgot to read the autopsy report...

derp.

I'm a back-seat gamer for the most part because my family is helpless. Both my dad and my brother made this same mistake while playing Resident Evil 4... For those of you who aren't familiar with the game, there's a guy (usually referred to exclusively as 'the merchant') who sells you items, and if you don't upgrade frequently, you're pretty much boned (unless you're one of those ridiculous players that can do everything with a combat knife). This guy is very easy to kill, however, accident or no. Through much trial and error they both conquered very nerve-wracking parts of the game, and they rounded the corner... And seeing the merchant standing there startled them, so they shot him dead. They had to do the whole level over.

I just laughed.

For me...

There was this one time in Paper Mario, where I was fighting Huff'n'puff and I used the thunder rage on him hoping to get rid of the mini puffs that he was with, it didn't even affect them and I died. Worst of all was that I had a shooting star and didn't use it.

Chrono Trigger when you first fight the golems sent by Dalton. I wasn't strong enough to beat them, but I didn't know that you could lose against it and I ended up wasting a whole bunch of tonics and elixirs, just to find out the story still goes on if you lose. I felt stupid! ><

Phantom Hourglass: Another boss battle. In the dungeon where you get the bow and arrow, I did fine at shooting the boss down, and in fact I did this for about 20 hours before I realised that once I hit him with the arrow, I had to slash off his mask. I beat him within a minute after realising this. Such unnecessary waste of time.

Super Mario Land: On the round where you get the sub, I'd always die on that round. It wasn't until I asked someone about why that round was so hard that they told me that the sub could shoot missles with the B button.

...I've learned it's TOO easy to make stupid mistakes on fighting games. But this one--it took the cake.
King of Fighters XI, I get to the final boss Magaki while playing as Duo Lon. I'm pretty sure I've got it all in the bag--I mean, I've memorized what GOOD moves Duo still has. I go for the dulled-down version of Transmigration Stomper--KNOWING that Magaki was sending out his little pink orbs that hit you for a ton of damage. Here insert my instant facepalm.

Worse--and non-fighting game--I was playing Gunstar Heroes on my Sega Genesis. I get to the Seven Force in the mineshaft. I KNOW Eagle force is about to hit me with its tail. I go to switch mine walls in the minecart--and smack right into the tail, lose all my vitality/hit points. loldead. I still cringe at my stupidity when it comes to that.

Well, this one's sort of a combo between me and my cat, but I think it still counts. One of the things I remember being angriest about was as follows:

I had spent forever and ever maxing almost everything out on FF8. And I have this bad habit of completely restarting FF games just before the point at which I fight the last boss (I don't know why). So I thought to myself, "No. For once, I'm going to completely finish this stupid thing." And I battled through all the mess with Ultimecia and Griever and such. Then, when I would need all of maybe two more attacks to finally kill her and finish the game, the cat got jealous of my not paying him any attention.

When he gets jealous of my being busy on a videogame, he jumps behind the entertainment center and plays around back there until he knocks out the power strip plug.

I screamed in fury as I realized that, a) the cat had just ruined everything I'd done, and b) I hadn't saved in roughly a day, putting me so far back it wasn't funny.

Needless to say, I restarted the game. ¬_¬

That's similar to what happened to me when I was playing the last boss battle for FF8, except it was my mom who accidentally unplugged the power on my PS just a Ultimecia was finally about to die >_<

Stupidest thing I've done in a game though has to be taking apart my weapon in Vagrant Story right at the very beginning of the game. Yes, I took it apart in the first dungeon and I couldn't put it back together again. Needless to say, I had to restart my game :yuusaku:

In FFTactics Advance, my inventory was full in terms of carrying mission items. I had 3 Black Threads, so I thought I could drop one, and repeat a mission to get another one. Little did I know that all the missions involving Black Threads as rewards were non-repeatable. I had finished the entire game and then some, and got all the bonus characters in my party, except for the Judge, which requires you to complete all 250 missions. And I was permanently stuck at 249 because the last mission required a Black Thread (I had used the others up for the other missions). So close to getting the PERFECT RECORD. :headbang:

Got another one. You know on Ocarina of Time when you have to blow up the boulder to Dodongo's Cavern. I spent a long time scaling up and down Death Mountain to see if there was a hidden bomb flower anywhere before the big rock before I realised that you have to throw the darn thing over the ledge. Reason being was that I thought you couldn't throw the bomb over the fence. :/

Carrie + armor = boom + winnar.

The one disappointing thing about the boom is that it only affects the character holding the bottle and nothing else around them. :\

My stupidest thing in that game was trying to find the engagement ring and potpouri. I still can't find them. :payne:

Oh yeah, there were a few other stupid moments in that game...

Getting Reindhardt in the tower of science(he doesn't jump high).
Getting Carrie in the tower of execution(she doesn't jump far).
It was still playable but the critical moments that relied on that ONE jump would kill me 9/10 times.

Aside from that some stupid glitch I found after the battle with Death. I managed to fall midway into the bottom of the map. Apparently there's a door/warp zone programmed somewhere down the middle of the clock. Instead of just dying, I got warped to the start of the clock tower level. :\

Oh yeah, there's also the huge fun of floating Carrie to the top of the staircase along the elevator shaft. That's always fun for skipping the whole clock tower mess.

Yeah I'm that gamer that everyone flips out on once they see my savefile. :yuusaku:

I can't remember anything specific, but I do have a bad habit of conserving strong items in RPGs. Even when I'm in danger and one hit would kill me, I just can't bring myself to use them because they are so precious! Then when I die, I say, "Argh! Why didn't I use that elixir!?" or whatever item was good for the situation. Seriously, sometimes I go through RPGs using these items only a couple of times, sometimes only in the last boss fight because there is no point of keeping them afterwards!

I hope I'm not the only one that has this packrat problem...

I saved teh spoon errr....cleaver in FF4. :yuusaku:

In FF3 it's really fun to go quad-ninja, load everyone up with shurikens during a boss fight and watch them do business. Go ninja go ninja go!♪ :godot:

I can't remember anything specific, but I do have a bad habit of conserving strong items in RPGs. Nope! I do the same thing. When I played Megaman Star Force I used the starter chips almost to the end. (With a few really good chips mixed in.) I only changed things when I had to. (Just something I did. Not a stupid thing I did.)

Fire Emblem.
I sometimes move my characters in the wrong space. I also sometimes wait instead of attack like I want to.
Don't mind me, just passing through.
