Well, a lot of gaming companies at one point or another seem to hit some kind of pattern with how they design games. They may be in which type of character sits in what role, or even be something as simple as a colour platelet. It could be on purpose, or it could be completely coincidental!

So, essentially this thread is all about discussing the various patterns you've noticed within certain companies.

For example, Capcom really seems to love to use the colour red for it's successive characters within certain series:

Spoiler: A small Capcom pattern that's most likely coincidental
Capcom really seems to like the colour red. It's most likely purely coincidental, as the production teams that worked on said titles have little to do with each other. Capcom just happened to publish them all.

Also, if you look closely, all the main characters have very small bits of red on them as well. :kyouya:

In Konami's Castlevania games after Symphony of the Night the following games' protagonists odly had always blond/silver hair (excluding remakes):

Spoiler:
Image
Symphony of the Night, Alucard
Image
Circle of the Moon, Nathan Graves
Image
Harmony of the Dissonance, Juste Belmont
Image
Aria of Sorrow, Soma Cruz
Image
Lament of Innocence, Leon Belmont
Image
Curse of Darkness, Hector

The character designer was same for all those games and when the designer changed the protagonists' hair color also changed. (So it's pretty obvious, although it doesn't really bother me.)

Actually, Kojima didn't work on Circle of the Moon so not all of them were from the same designer.

But still, she DOES seem to have a liking towards White-Hairs and Blonds. Even Dracula had white hair in a few of his designs from her along with Graham and Joachim too.

Here's something, Nintendo seem to have a fetish for Blue-Haired lords in Fire Emblem.

Sorry, but usually I simply put up links instead to save on reuploading to photobucket space.

I'm aware of that. Zero in MegaMan Zero succeeded MegaMan X.

No, it was meant to be Apollo. Apollo succeeded Phoenix, not Edgeworth. However, it should be noted that Classic MegaMan teamed up with his red rival ProtoMan, like how Phoenix teamed up with his red rival Edgeworth from time to time. However, Apollo did succeed Phoenix, and Apollo wears red.

I thought it was pretty self explanitory when my first example was Ken succeeding Ryu. :adrian:

Well, that's just a pattern within a series of games, so I don't really know if it counts. I mean, most Pegasus Riders are blue-ish or violet-haired females and there's almost always a pair of knights in every game but trends within series like that are quite common. Like the case 2 bitch-in-sheep's-clothing in Ace Attorney. Or something.

You'll see 573 in quite a few Konami games, mainly in their Bemani games though. 573 can be pronounced similarly in Japanese to the company's name.

5 = Ko
7 = Na
3 = Mi

That defeats the purpose of a discussion.
