Detective Grimoire is a forthcoming adventure game in the vein of Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Professor Layton and the like, with releases planned for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS platforms. The development team just ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund the final months of development and pay the game's voice actors.

As of writing this post, the goal has just been met, so if you'd rather not support it there's no pressure. However, the Kickstarter campaign closes in 48 hours, so I figured I'd let potential supporters here know about it before it's too late. There are numerous items available to backers which might not be available after the end of the campaign, such as t-shirts, art books and plushies. It's also a good way to pre-order the game itself, which is looking pretty good!

Check out the demo and/or the game's predecessor if you want to get a better idea about what the game will be like.

Hmm. Only had the time to take a look at the Kickstarter page and the included video, maybe later I'll try the demo or prequel. But, judging by the video, the Minigames look to be of similar vein of Trace Memory, which is a compliment I think. Art is good, and the voice acting is good. Protagonist seems like an interesting character. But I'm not yet sold on the mystery. Not that I'm against the nature of the #1 suspect, but there's something lacking in the delivery in the trailer. (Perhaps a "What did I just sign myself into? =/" expression?). Transitions between witnesses also lacked flow. I got the message "These are towns people" and not a build up of mystery and suspense.

But it has my eye.
