Fascinating chat I found on Twitter. I'm really surprised that my beloved SNES cost as much at launch as the WiiU.
It's also interesting that the PS3, while still very expensive compared to its contemporaries, wasn't near as expensive as a lot of predecessors. (And ya wonder why no one bought those systems…)

I sent that very picture to someone on IRC, who was complaining that the Wii U wwas way too expensive, and that it was typical Nintendo being greedy... well, he didn't say squat else after that.
What I'm really curious about will be the price of the competitors next consoles... will they keep on making even more expensive consoles each gen, or are they going to try a different road? I've read rumours and so-called reports on subscription-based schemes, to a focus on services and such.
As for Nintendo, they once again prove they want to do stuff their own way.
