The game I loved dearly before Ace Attorney came around for me. :maya:

I played all the games in the series except the Super Nintendo Starfox.

Funny thing is...I suck at playing Starfox 64. :snackood: And I still do today.

My favorite characters are Falco, Krystal, Fox, Wolf...I kind of wish Katt could've gotten more screen time. And of course I also love Fox/Krystal. (And have a soft spot for Falco/Krystal.)

And I'm probably the only person who DOESN'T hate Slippy Toad. :snackood:

So...any other fans?

Funny. Less than half an hour ago, I picked up Assault for the first time in years and am considering doing a Let's Play of it (though it will probably be a month or two before that happens). The series has always had a special place in my heart, despite how long it's been since I've played any of the games.

Oh, and for the record, I don't really have a problem with any of the characters. Being scatterbrained is rarely enough of a reason for me to dislike someone. Now, if Slippy were a big jerk, a lazy parasite, or just plain evil, then I'd probably have a problem with him.

I didn't play the SNES version much (well, the one they actually released), but oh man, Starfox 64 was my CRACK. I must have played every mission on every branch at least twenty times each back at the end of '97. I definitely wasn't the best at it, but I remember getting a good enough score to beat some of the top ten players in Nintendo Power.

Hilariously enough, I suck ass at SF64 for 3DS. Maybe it's just the position of the controls, or the small screen, I dunno. But something is definitely off.

And talking about the remake reminds me of this David Bowie parody. You all might have seen it before, but it's worth watching more than once. Slightly NSFW for language and some character bashing...but hey, it's all in good fun :-P

Despite me enjoying that video, I can't say I ever really hated anyone (except that butthole Andross, who made a certain final boss battle miserable at times). But I have to admit Slippy got into trouble a LOT... of course, knocking bogeys off his tail did count toward your final score, so whatever. Same with Falco, who never cut Fox a break (though his complaints were justified the few times I stole his target :wellington: )

May I have permission to hug you?

Hmmm, maybe I should see that Let's Play, even though I prefer playing games over watching people play games. I got really exicited for Chuggaconroy's Let's Play of Pokemon Colosseum and that Let's Play made me pick up my copy of Pokemon Colosseum, but I got lazy after the Venus battle.

And as I click that link, for some reason all video players got disabled on this computer, and yet I was in the middle of watching an anime. :(

Back on topic...

I don't dislike Andross, but...
Spoiler: Starfox Adventures
Bringing him back to life in Starfox Adventures was lame. I was expecting an epic final battle between Fox and General Scales. :(

Man, I remember playing the heck out of the N64 game as a kid. From what I remember, I used to suck at it. It even took me a while to figure out how to save Falco on Corneria and find the secret passage to Sector X (or was it Y?) Also, even before I knew "Do a barrel roll!" was a meme that quote was stuck in my head.

To this day, I've never beaten the hard path yet. I lost more than half my lives on the Star Wolf battle on Venom. I got to the true fight with Andross, but I never beat it, and his head didn't 'asplode into that wierd brain thing with the eyes. However, I did beat the 3DS version which I thought was INCREDIBLY easier than the original version for some reason.

I also have the SNES Star Fox which I purchased off of eBay a few years ago out of curiosity, and I thought it was pretty good for a game of its time. The graphics, while still blocky, were cool to look at (especially in Space Armada!), the controls were much like the N64 game's controls albeit a little looser, and the music is awesome!

It's been AGES since I first played and beat Adventures. I remember me and my dad used to take turns going through the story, and we'd have the guide book at the ready whenever we didn't know what to do. I'm not sure if I want to replay it or not. Any opinions?

And no, I don't really hate Slippy. Sure he gets in a lot of trouble and his voice sometimes is a little annoying, but he still has SOME combat capabilities, and he gives the enemy shields during battle which is helpful for me. And me being a nice guy, I've always got his back during the heat of battle! :garyuu:

Nice to see I'm not alone on the island of people who had issues with Starfox 64.

And blocky graphics don't bug me. Starfox for the Super Nintendo was the first game to have 3D graphics, I think. The graphics were pretty.

I say replay Adventures because even though it has flaws, it does have a lot of good points and it got me into the series in the first place. ^-^ Took my brother and I years to finish though. :(

I played all of the Star Fox games, including the SNES one. I was terrible at it, though.

I really liked 64. I liked Adventures and Assault although they weren't my favorites. I didn't like Command at all, even though it's the reason I got a DS.

I never had a problem with the characters themselves. As a kid I used to wish all the characters were humans instead of animals, though.

I was hoping there would be a new one on the wii, maybe returning it to on-rails flying, but nothing has happened. Maybe the Wii U or the 3DS will change that.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Eh? I don't understand why, as a kid I wanted to be half human and half black cat and visit the lylac system. ^^;

There's a possibility that a new starfox game will come out for the Wii U.

I loved Star Fox 64 so much it's my childhood right there when I wasn't busy playing other games or sometimes I watched my sister playing the game. I remember the last battle with Andross boss gave me some nightmares though as a kid, but for some reason I used to find great hilarity when seeing your teammates screaming your name when you die(... I think I'll blame Tomb Raider for that one).

I felt like it would have been cooler and "more mature" if they had been human. I wasn't very logical in my youth.

Good ol' Star Fox. I really like the series. Played and beaten every game, save the original SNES one. The music and controls are my favorite parts of the games. Oh, and speaking of controls, am I the only one who doesn't hate the Assault land battles?

I like the land battles. ^-^
Before I knew Assault existed I always wanted to do land battles with a gun in starfox.
