Couldn't find a specific topic about the subject, so there you go. Let's gush over one of the best series ever made by Rareware in all its history!

In my personal opinion, Banjo-Tooie is the best game there is for the N64.

You mean Snacker from Treasure Trove Cove? He's so easy to dodge. But when I was a kid I had troubles with him too, I know what you're talking about

Fuck Microsoft for buying this company.

Give it back to Nintendo you assholes, you have enough new gems without shitting on one of the N64's crown jewel franchises.

Rare gave us Perfect Dark, And Banjo Kazooie, and Diddy Kong Racing, and Donkey Kong country and.. and.. *cries*
I miss rare.

I really enjoyed Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Even the GBA games weren't half bad, even if Pilot wasn't as polished or fun as it could have been with some more development time. I always wondered whatever became of Tooty after the first game, but I assumed her complete dissappearance (except for that portait in Banjo's house) and no mention of her in dialogue was part of the big joke the franchise has about itself.

If Nintendo really wanted Rare, they could've easily bought them out while they owned 49% of the company. The fact they didn't would suggest either they didn't care for the games Rare was developing at the time, or they figured it was worth the loss. Either way, considering the mediocre games they developed after being picked up by Microsoft, it was practically a blessing in disguise. Besides, as most (if not all?) of the Rare team that worked on those games are no longer at the company, it's pretty much Rare in name only these days.

Yeah, with the way Rare is nowadays, I really doubt Nintendo would want them back, and I honestly wouldn't want Nintendo to give it back.

What I'd love to see is Microsoft/Rare giving up the Banjo Kazooie IP, and getting back Rare's former staff to actually make a real Banjo Threeie. I think the composer of the Banjo games mentioned something to this effect and it'd honestly be nice. Of course it'd have to be on a Nintendo console.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

The same music track kept on playing throughout the game and it drove me crazy....Ok, I never played the game(s) but I'll give the game props for having interesting areas to explore.

Meh...To be honest I haven't played that much of the adventures of these two.
I mean...sure, via emulator I played the N64 game long ago but didn't feel like finishing it. ...Nor play it that much to begin with.
Before that though I had randomly found the Gruntys Revenge sequel game on GBA from one game store and that I've completed few times.
I like the G.R a lot though not that much that I'd go all wheeee woohoooo over it or something like that.

Yeah, he mentioned on the episode of Game Grumps he was on that he just wants to 'get all the ex-Rare staffers back, go to Nintendo, tell them we'll make you Banjo-Threeie, we'll make it on the Wii U, it'll be great, and we'll all be together again'.

Grant Kirkhope basically echoed what every B-K fan has wanted since 2002.

So, about the Banjo-Threeie stuff, seems like it was a hoax. Grant was planning on reviving the series' former glory, but turns out that the project was totally thrown off-track and later abandoned.

Time to say goodbye to the ol' bear 'n bird.

Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were both fantastic games. I definitely have fond memories playing both of them. Nuts & Bolts wasn't terrible, but the gameplay didn't hold a candle to the first two. The only highlight was that it kept the wittiness and smart humor of the first two intact.

The main issue with Nuts 'n Bolts is the direction which they took the game. I think it didn't fit with the B-K universe at all, which in turn made the game look weird and disappointed us fans - who, I'll admit, are very nitpicky when it comes to Rareware blockbusters such as this one.

This and the graphics, fuck 'em

Oh, I agree with you completely. Microsoft really fucked up the franchise (just like they did with Perfect Dark). Not to sound like a fanboy, but Nintendo are the kings when it comes to platformers and that's what made the Banjo-Kazooie series so great when they were under Nintendo's watchful eye. When Rare came under Microsoft, it seems like Microsoft simply didn't know what to do with the series and tried something different that, while commendable, quite simply didn't mesh well with the series' overall style.

While I would love to see a revival of the series, with most of the original Rare staff no longer with the company, I can't say I would have high hopes for it. My dream is for Microsoft to sell the franchise to Nintendo and maybe let Retro (the company behind Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Country Returns) have a crack at it. They certainly couldn't do any worse. Not to mention we could see Banjo and Kazooie pop up in a future Super Smash Bros. game!

I thought Grant Kirkhope did a pretty solid job of arranging the Spiral Mountain theme so it didn't get too old. I've only heard his music from the Banjo Kazooie series and Conker's Bad Fur Day, but I think he's one of the best videogame composers I've heard. All of his tunes are real catchy.

This is a personal favourite of mine:

Grant is a genius. Sometimes I'll go to YouTube and listen to OSTs and everytime I listen to Banjo-Tooie songs I thank the heavens for his work. I don't think I have a personal favorite but I really like the Chilli Billy/Chilly Willy battle theme.

The music from Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie is nothing short of brilliant. The Grunty boss theme from BK is one of my all time favorite boss themes.

The shark never scared me, it was the huge anglerfish boss in Banjo-Tooie that always scared the shit out of me. Oh, and those creatures that would shoot out of holes in the walls in the first game. Those things almost gave me a heart attack when I was younger.

The only thing that ever got close to scaring me (and I'm VERY easy to scare) was the ghost hand in Mad Monster Mansion, when I was a kid it just gave me the creeps.

That and I kinda flinched at Mingy Jongo's sudden reveal, 'cause I hadn't gone to Mumbo first

What's the Jinjo one called? Was it Minjo? The first time I approached one it really caught me off guard. Then I made it a habit to fire eggs at any Jinjo/Minjo I saw, just to be sure.

Yeah, Minjos. I made a habit to always roll towards a Jinjo to get it, so that if it turned out to be a Minjo I'd not get caught off-guard
