neways, i dont think he should be fired, but i think that this might give reviewers a caution.
i mean, i once saw a JD episode where they reviewed rave master for the gamecube. they spent the whole review saying "its by nintendo and its based off of a anime ive never heard of, so it automatically sucks"
there was also a EGM review on makai kingdom that pissed me off. the guy gave the game a bad score because it had 2d graphics. he basically kept on saying "bad graphics. nippon ichi should stop making games with bad graphics". then a year later, disgaea 2 came out. same guy gave it a great review(if you didnt know, theyre both made by the same company).
this might at least scare reviewers to not give a game a crappy review because they dont like something that really affects the game(ie, bad controls, crappy camera should be the reasons why a game will be bad. not because it had 2d graphics or it was made by a company you dont like)

And it's disgusting. This issue has come up a lot lately in the enthusiast press, but I don't think anyone believed that it would go this far.
I don't think that it's just due to the Kane & Lynch review, however -- Gamespot has undergone some management changes lately and it looks like K&L was really just the straw that broke the camel's back. Apparently the upper brass at CNet and GS are attempting to change the tone of their reviews to reflect more positively on AAA titles.
Ugh, seriously, this makes me sick to my stomach.
I hope this doesn't go away -- it's time for a change, I think.

by bad review, i mean one that people didnt agree with
eidios didnt like how this guy gave K&L, so they made the guy get fired. he shouldnt have been fired though. there has been people who give games a bad score for something stupid(like i said before, it could be on 2d graphics or because it was made by a company they dont like) but have they been fired? no.
