But when I tried to set that as my signature, I couldn't.
Despite it being smaller than most the signatures on the forum I'm being told it's too many characters (255 seems a painfully small limit) and the BBcode didn't seem to be working in the preview. It also said that I couldn't resize text to anything bigger than size 24 (which is not legible).
I object to these strange signature settings. They are objectionable!
Please take a look. I'd appreciate any comments too!

Gosh. I must say, as a new person here, I thought I might have to deal with the kind of internet-lurker that lets things from forums go to their head...And lift that head right the way up their own arse. You know; the kind of people that sometimes can't even be bothered with basic grammar. But fortunately not. I was lucky enough to be bestowed with someone as cogent as yourself.

I really think you would all enjoy it, its about these people who build an unsinkable ship. On it first voyage these two lovers meet up and fall for each other but then tragedy strikes. The "unsinkable" ship happens to run into an ice berg and starts to fill with water.
I hope that when this stupid character limit is lifted you all take a few minutes to read it. You'll laugh, you'll cry and maybe, just maybe, you'll learn to love.

For a minute I forgot you were going on about CHARACTERS, not WORDS. It's hard to tell with your sarky overdramatisation Anyway. Personally I'd just make a picture file as a sig, or if it's possible, a teeny Flash 'splash' thingum- if it's not too hazardous on peoples' computers. That way you can 'post' several links in your sig without going over the character limit! .....Unless it takes that many characters for the Swf coding, in which case forget I said anything.
There's always a way around these things, right?
Guess people will just have to economise on the use of their sigs... or be sneaky and make an animated gif for 'bigger' ones.

The sig rules we're using have been in place for almost the entire life of the forum, and we don't have any plans of changing them any time soon (if at all).

But can you at least explain why it says "You may only use fonts up to size 24."? (size 24 is this small)
I'd quite like to make my sig text sized 75 or something equally reasonable, which is this big.
