"What to do in the event of a troll attack."
If you haven't noticed recently, we've had some idiot claiming to be an 8-Year old spam the forums the past two days. He's a determined little bugger, but we'll get him one way or another.
But in the mean time, there are somethings we need the forumers to do, and "not" do.
If you see a troll topic, do "NOT" reply to it. That's exactly what the troll wants. It doesn't solve matters in the least. And you're only feeding the hype-machine.
If you want to defeat a troll then you have to deny him his reward for attacking, and that's attention.
Instead, hit the report button on a topic. That'll get the attention of the staff when they're around. A few members of the staff have stated that they'd rather not receive PMs. And besides, the Topic Alert button alerts the entire staff, not just the person you're PMing.

It didn't seem as great as most people say it is so Wooster how do you deal with having a friend that is a a jerk to everybody but you do you ignore him to death or get in trouble for feeding troll/spammer?

And I'd actually have to say no, and that goes for most of the people who replied to that topic as well. Flaming somebody who posts a thread that begs for flames is precisely the definition of feeding a troll. 99% of the replies to that were even lower-grade garbage than the topic-creator's post. Good job guys. :|
If somebody's doing something wrong, just hit report, describe what is being done wrong, and leave the topic alone. If a troll or a spammer's threads disappear and their accounts are deleted without having caused the slightest discord, they'll get bored and give up.

Thanks Croik. So what if an adimn becomes like a troll and starts spamming like crazy and post sexually explicit about other users and any thing else that you will get banned over. So would the adimn be banned like a regular person or what?

But, if a moderator or an administrator starts doing things in direct violation to the forum rules, then you may want to PM an admin with a link relevant to the offense. If the other admins find that one among us is not acting as a forum leader should, that person would be stripped of their position and disciplined as any user would be.

Sounds fair. Well at least I got my notes right now. Thank you Wooster and Pazu for the information it really helps to know stuff like this. I promise not to flame,troll, or post anything that trolls do.
