Frequently Asked Questions To avoid constant reposting Q. Where is the Court Records main site? A. Here: http://www.court-records.net Q. Who runs this board? A. Croik does. She also runs Court Records. But Wooster is better with the forum than me so if you have technical problems see him. Q. If someone on the forum never posts, can I have their user name? A. No. The admins will never delete a member's account simply for being inactive. What do I do if I forget my password? A. You'll have to email Croik, whose email is on the main site. Q. How many Gyakuten Saiban games are there? A. Five games, which have been ported and translated various ways. -Gyakuten Saiban 1 / Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (out on GBA, PC, cell phone, NDS, and 3DS | available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish) -Gyakuten Saiban 2 / Ace Attorney: Justice For All (out on GBA, PC, NDS, and 3DS | available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish) -Gyakuten Saiban 3 / Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (out on GBA, PC, NDS, and 3DS | available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish) -Gyakuten Saiban 4 / Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (out on the NDS | available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish) -Gyakuten Saiban 5 / Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies (out on the 3DS | available in English and Japanese) There are also also three spin off games! -Gyakuten Kenji / Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations (out on the NDS | available in English and Japanese) -Gyakuten Kenji 2 (out on the NDS | available in Japanese) -Professor Layton vs Gyakuten Saiban / Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (out on the 3DS | available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Dutch, and Spanish) There's also one more game announced but not yet released: -Dai Gyakuten Saiban (to be released on 3DS | Japanese release confirmed) Q. Is there any difference between games depending on region? A. No. PW:AA is a faithful translation of it's Japanese counterpart. The Japanese version, however, contains a dual language function that lets you play the game in Japanese or English. The English version played in the Japanese DS game is EXACTLY THE SAME as the version released in the US. Q. Can I unlock the Case 5 art in the first game? A. No, there is no such thing. Beating case 5 on the NDS does not unlock anything. Q. How do I reset my PW:AA data, so I can re-unlock the cases? A. Hold R+B at the game loading screen. Q. How much Japanese do I need to know to be able to play the Gyakuten Saiban games by myself? A. A lot. The Gyakuten Saiban games are very vocabulary-intensive. And the kanji, considering it's on a little screen, do not have furigana. You need to know words that aren't normally taught in classes like "murder suspect" and "instant death". Some are easier to learn in the context of the game than others. There are a lot of puns, there are several different dialects and speech patterns, and a lot of slang. No two characters talk the same way and several of them make up words entirely. You need several YEARS of study in Japanese to be able to understand the games without an aid. That being said, with the help of a walkthrough, someone who is able to read kana can probably make it through the game with 2 or 3 semesters worth. Q. In the second case, Redd calls the "chief prosecutor." Was he talking to Lana? A. No. This is an error on the part of the American translators. I'm not well versed in the legal system but the man Redd talked to was the head of the Prosecution Office, probably higher ranking than Lana. In the Japanese they're referred to by two different titles. Comment in this thread with any others you think ought to be added to the list. |

This is a problem that I myself do not know how to solve, and I'm sure a couple people will get this too. When I try to include a picture in my signature, I get this message: Quote: Accessing the image was impossible or file isn’t a valid image. Yes, I am 100% sure that the picture exists, I've even tried using different pictures from other sites, not just my photobucket ones, but I still get this message. So, how do I get around this? |

It twas an issue in phpBB checking the Hight/Width of your image, I've disabled the check so we should be good to go. |

Wooster wrote: Q. How can I play the other games now if I don't know Japanese? A. There is a GS3 rom that can be played on an emulator. Comeback Court did a translation patch for the first case. I don't understand how I'm supposed to use this. I downloaded the patch... but I don't understand what program to use or...anything. |

In fact, if I recall correctly, a few GBA emulators will patch ROMs for you without the need for a seperate patching utility. |

And a ROM for that matter... |

Post subject: | Re: FAQ |
An Emulator is a program that acts like a game system on your computer. In this case, it will let you play GBA games. Google "emulator". The best GBA emulator is Visual Boy Advance. A ROM is an illegal copy of a game that you can play on your computer using the emulator. Download the GS3 rom. Download the translation patch from Comeback Court. Put all these things in one folder. Make sure the rom and the patch are named the same thing except for the file extension. Start the emulator. Load the rom. It should let you play the game. |

Post subject: | Problem with attachments in comic topic |
Ehh...I need assistance . I'm newcomer in this kind of forum ( I have to admit) and I don't know basics. I'm not a programmer, I'm just using machines. That was just allegory, I hope You understand. Well, I was editing comic strip topic of mine and I don't know what happened or where I did something wrong. I just wanted to change text of my posts a little and then...when I prewiewed it, I notized that all my picture attachments have disappeard . I've tried to solve a problem but I don't now what to do Are those attacments somewhere or do I have to upload them ones again into my post? How can I do that because there's no menu for that option or is it possible afterwards at all? So, can you inform me in this matter? Also I'd like to know, how I can use same topic for all my works if amount of theirs will increase. How can I make for them their own links as I saw in another topic. Then that another topic of mine is useless, how I can remove that? Yeah, I admit, I have much to learn on these things ! So, be patient and help me, please . |

Post subject: | Re: FAQ |
Ah yes, anyways, attachments are quite exploitable so we disabled them for registed users. Mods, Admins, Donors et al can still upload. If we know you well enough and think you have a serious use for the uploads, we 'may' add you to the 'Special Rights' group. No promises however. In the future I hope to have a more reliable system in place. And actually intend to make using the SWF bbCode a bit more difficult to get at, considering one with the right knowledge can collect your cookie data. |

Thank's for info . Well, as a matter a fact I got some help and usable advice . I mean, I understood how it can be done. All my comic strips are now in one topic, so that second topic (where is number two) is now useless. I think it would be proper to remove it away as possible, thank you. |

The ones in your profile represent your post count. The ones on the board topics represent whether or not you've replied in that thread. |

They have no real meaning, aside from telling people just how much you've posted. EDIT: Whoops, beaten by Croik. Twice, at that. Ah well. Still, they are pretty cool, aren't they? |

Paste the url between the tags. Shoud look like: (img)http://www.blah.com/pic.jpg(/img) Except the ( ) should be [ ] 5. Post~ |

Um... thanx but i don't have any web spaces or photo hosting sevices. Does this mean I can't put up my fanart? |

Post subject: | Re: FAQ |
Imageshack and photobucket are free services. You don't even have to sign up for Imageshack. And yes, hosting your fanart somewhere else with a link is the only way to post images here. |
