Post subject:  The Berry Big Circus is Back!
While this had actually been decided earlier, I feel now is a good time to publicly announce the decision to reopen the Berry Big Circus, a board reserved for forum games. All users with an interest in participating in forum games are encouraged to look for good ideas. Heck, if you feel like it, go ahead and share your ideas here, though now that the board's open, I advise just going ahead and starting your game there.

Posts in the Berry Big Circus will not count toward your total post count. In addition, once the board is reopened, the "Random conversations/chatroom" thread will be moved there. It's also worth noting that the Berry Big Circus was originally closed down in CR's more active days because the server couldn't handle all the activity. That (hopefully) won't be an issue nowadays due to the smaller number of active users, though the possibility is there. The rules have been updated and unless we screwed something up, the board should now be open.

While I haven't been around long enough in order to post in the old Forum Games, I look forward to participating in the new one. I think it's a good way to encourage users to be online more often and participate in different events.

If you're looking for suggestions for games, though, I think these are a good idea. Either that, or I just pestered my sister who has more forum experience than I do.
+Control the Hill (each person has to 'capture' the hill from the previous user, each time using a different method)
+Escape the Island (each person has to 'escape' the island using an item the person above them left behind. In the ones I've participated in, they got hectic verrry quickly)
+Corrupt a Wish (I can't describe it very well, but it's all over the internet. I'm pretty sure that google could turn something up that tells you about it better than I can)

It was fun when it started, but wow did things get heated fast. If that does return, that's definitely something that should be monitored closely.

Hopefully too, the spam will be much more manageable this time around since this site isn't nearly as busy as it was during the good ol' days.

Also, we could do "The most forgettable AA character" game, where people list one character at a time, and the last AA character to be mentioned is decreed to be the most forgettable.

That actually sounds pretty interesting. :edgey: If that were added as a game, I'd play it. It sort of seems like the type of game where everyone's in a mad dash to get the obscure characters, while one or two people just sit back and list characters like Gumshoe.
Would AAI characters be included?

The real question is, would PLvsAA characters be included? If so, would we count the established Layton characters?

Yes, although I'm not sure what to allow the AAI2 characters or not, since they don't have official English names.

I'd probably go for the PLvsAA characters having their own separate thread made, after the main AA one is finished.

Its kinda hard to describe since there are a lot of forum games, but basically its like a thread where there is some sort of "rule" all the posters have to follow.You will understand better by looking at the threads in the "Berry Big Circus" section in the index.

I can't help but think this is a bad idea. I know it won't affect anything but this seems like a really desperate move to appease no one in particular. Lest we forget, Big Berry Circus is the REASON we have so few people anyway. When the site went down for nearly a year, the forums population never really recovered. I just think that there are better ways to encourage user growth than tempting fate by opening BBC again, but that's just my opinion.

Basically, every seven days the forum was set to auto-delete topics that hadn't been posted in for 7 days. I've gone and turned that off since it wasn't something that the staff had discussed doing and it has the capacity to upset people.

We're sorry for any inconvenienced caused.

It might be able to be salvageable, but would require our SQL gnomes going into the copy of the database and extracting it.

Speaking of Circuses, the AA5 radio drama, Turnabout Animal Circus. It is in only Japanese, and I'm trying to find the script to translate it into English. Please reply If you know where I can find the script
