It's really called Gatchaman and if you like it that much, they redid the entire first series redubbing it with hilarious results. I really dug it.

Some others I'm quite fond of are:
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Sailor Moon (first anime I ever saw... I learned about it from a pair of shoes, and my mom got me to start watching, and she kinda regretted that when it would be on a school morning and the only thing my attention could be on XD)
- Hare + Guu (only seen the first 4 episodes for some reason, but it's so cute!)
- Astro Boy (not so much the 60s series, but the '03 one's great and the 80s one is adorable)

1. Onegai Teacher (All time favorite, never contested in its position)

4. Eureka SeveN (dethroned Transformers Masterforce as my favorite mecha series ever)
5. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! (my guts were about to spill out in laughter watching this)
6. Azumanga Daioh, Kyou no Go no Ni and Lucky Star (randomness = hilarity)
7. Futari Ecchi and Virgin Night (sexy love and romance = instant win)
8. REC (short, but too damn sweet)
9. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (have yet to see a series capable of pulling out so many manly tears from me)
10. Saishuu Heiki Kanojo / She, the Ultimate Weapon / SaiKano (a sad, but absolutely compelling love story)
11. Myself ; Yourself (another slightly sad love story, but with a good ending; deals with delicate stuff like suicide and incest)
12. Mnemosyne (a new contender I found about this year, fucking amazing story and lovable characters, plus action scenes were orgasmic)

2 - Pretty crappy/nor do I not like the artstyle that much/it's someone else own interpretation being made after. Plus, the storyline was changed a bit.
1 - Well it's one of those things where you have multitude of adaptations after it. You either play the original game or watch the animation to get the best out of it.

The other two I've watched are Haruhi, which I didn't particularly enjoy at all and Azumanga Daioh, which I prefer the manga to the anime. It's still brilliant though.
I quite like Naruto, but I've only watched the first series. I've read the first 10 volumes of the manga though...
And PlanetES is quite good, providing I can find the episodes.
