Pinkie Pie - Shes just always up for a laugh, so random, perky, keen and optimistic all the time. She taught me to stop worrying about things and let life happens as it does, actually. Shes my best pony, but theres not much I have to say about her. Shes just...hilarious. It's all good with Pinkie in the world.
Rarity - I just love her voice, her behavior. I can tell shes different than the rest of her group, shes probably older, more experienced, she's a pony that appreciates the finer things in life. And I love that she contradicts her element almost every single episode. (Generosity? REALLY?)
Applejack - Her southern charm won over me straight away, I don't see why people hate her so much? She's got a good work ethic, whereas I do not. I love her honesty and her crap poker faces. She's the most realistic character, or I think so anyway, and that's part of her charm.
Twilight Sparkle - Normally I don't like the main characters of shows, they just tend to be...plain. But Twilight is different. You can tell she's still new to having friends throughout season one. And shes the one I feel genuinely sorry for most the time. Especially in Winter Wrap up. She just wanted to help D:
Fluttershy - Oh Fluttershy. Little Miss. 'I am weak and helpless'. Her shyness is very cute, that's for sure, and her love for animals is nice. But whenever she goes OOC it happens really quickly (Or as far as I am aware), like in Dragonshy, The best night eve,r (not so sudden but still quick...) etc. I'd like to see more character development in season two, maybe?
Rainbow Dash - This is what had people bitching at me the most. I like Rainbow Dash, she is cool and everything, I like her sticking up for tomboys, and being feminine at the same time. However, she has a trait I don't like in real people. She just says whatever she wants and sometimes acts like a total bitch without recognizing it. I'm sure she doesn't do it on purpose, but it doesn't change the fact I don't like it.

I'll talk about Rarity since she is my personal favorite, thus best pony. I wouldn't say she contradicts her element, she is generous in the fact that she does give other ponies things out of the kindness of her heart, but they tend to be things she excels at (which would fashion stuff). Recall the first episode where Twilight first met Rarity, her hair was a mess and Rarity offered to help fix it. She went above and beyond merely fixing up Twilight's hair and proceeded to dress her up in her many outfits.
Rarity also offered to help Applejack out in the first Discord episode. Yeah, she wanted to help by not getting dirty, but she abhors dirty things which is a personal preference. As does Fluttershy who hates scary things, she wasn't exactly the epitome of kindness to Luna when she asked for voice lessons. Applejack lies for the benefit of her friends.
Rarity's challenge in Sisterhooves Social was really about her overcoming her fear of all things dirty to spend time with her sister. Though I'm sure she would've been a little more open to the idea of the Social if not Sweetie Belle had constantly ruined everything

Also, Episode 10 is all about Spike. So we got Twilight, Rarity, Applebloom and Rainbow Dash episodes so far, but no AJ, Pinkie and Fluttershy? Preposterous!

I also don't like what they're doing to Big Macintosh. In Lesson Zero his closed answer gag was played for laughs by refusing to give the doll back. But it looks to me like they're making it his entire character, when I know he's deeper than that.

Well, I suppose Rarity occasionally - or, uh, a little more than occasionally - goes against her element too, but she is demonstrably generous. And wonderful <3
I would gladly trade in all of the CMC's episodes for more Applejack ones, with the exception of Cutie Mark Chronicles which is the best episode ever. :P
I'm glad Zecora was in this episode. She's getting increasingly more awesome as the series progresses, it seems (even if they are running out of rhymes to give her).
