South Park has too become boring and unfunny. Like much American animated programming. *coughTHESIMPSONScough*

American cartoons aren't what they used to be. what happened to good ol' cartoons like Inspector Gadget and Garfield and Friends?

But Family Guy is pretty good.

Cartoons have really come a long way. I really enjoy Family Guy. It sure beats the hell out of Fish Police.

Thirded! It was OK when it started, but the jokes are too random and most have little or nothing to do with the plot. (Seriously, I'm sure I could write better comedy than the writers of Family Guy, can).

I think the randomness is the funny part about family guy. I think the plot is more of a filler. Idk.

It's ok, some moments have had me laughing. Intelligent talking babies scare me though, it's not right. Real life or cartoon.
Hypocritcally though I like the dog (I can't remember his name, dammit. Roger?)
I bought the first season on DVD and didn't find it hilarious, so I kind of forgot about it. It's alright though.

Oh yeah, thanks for that.

I think I was thinking of American Dad, with the Alien. Now HIM, I love.

Family Guy LIVES on randomness. Specially those 'Hey, remember when Peter..' moments. It's funny, but it's not as great as The Simpsons in my opinion.

Well, both series have dropped in quality since their beginnings... although I prefer current Family Guy to current Simpsons, if we're talking back-in-the-day then The Simpsons ATW.

I like Family guy but it really dpends on the episode. I get some episodes where I'm in stiched frequently and other where I'm just sitting there watching.

The Simpsons is great though.

This pretty much sums it up for me. The latter is increasingly common during the recent series's.

What really grinds my gears is people who claim Family Guy is a ripoff of The Simpsons. The similarities are that it's an animated sitcom about a family. Similarities end there. The humour is completely different, the characters are different except Peter and Lois, I suppose, and Family Guy doesn't try to be serious or make sense at all. And Family Guy is less cringe-inducing. You don't see the Simpsons being called a ripoff of The Flintstones.

That's one of the reasons I love it so much, it's all for laughs, none of that moral stuff.

And some of the moments just tickle you for aaaages.

And of course the way Brits are portrayed :redd:

To me, Family Guy is the 'modern' Simpsons while The Simpsons are the innocent 80s-90s family. The episode don't make any sense at all yes, but not so bad as South Park. Did that Cleeveland show ever make it?

I thought the show was funny until they revived it. There were a good amount of clever jokes to balance out the non-sequitor gags that they're notorious for, but then we got back that damn fight with the chicken. It was retarded.

Bigheaded? Yes.

Homophobic? :objection:
He actually supports gay marriage and makes it very clear in his cartoons. He just has a sense of humor and isn't above making fun of his own beliefs. I respect that.
