Am I the only one who doesn't like the anime that much? :C

If I'm honest, I think it was easier to digest reading it than hearing it.

I like the manga much better, it's sweet, fun, bizarre reading that I enjoy from them. The more emotional moments were extremely drawn out in the anime and it made me want to strangle them for talking about Tohru so much. Yes, she's good, she's good. I GET IT. Stop going all Jesus on us :edgeworth:

...anyway. I know they're praactically the same (first episode anyway), but it seems to 'translate' better in the book.. The book actually makes me want to know more about the characters. Only read the first two volumes so far though, need to pick it up again sometime.

I've seen the entire anime series on DVD and read up to volume 10 of the manga, and I really enjoyed it. However, the manga is WAY better than the anime, considering where the anime ended was like between the 5th-7th volume of the manga (Out of over 20 volumes).

I liked it at first, but then I just got bored with it. Tohru's goody goody personality really annoyed me. But yeah, the manga's way better than the anime. The anime seemed really slow and almost dull.

For some reason, I'm starting to like Tohru-x-Kyo (and yes, the manga's way better)

Question - if I were to start watching the anime, should I watch the dub or the sub?

Seconded. Plus, Yuki's voice is soft and not cute at the same time :(

That isn't necessarily true. The Azumanga Daioh dub, for instance, is far superior to the sub.
Death Note's dub is on par with the original, especially in the final episode.

However, I will concede that Fruits' Basket's dub is god-awful (most of the voices are terrible and unfitting, plus I hate the english version of the opening).

Still, to blindly claim that the original subtitled version is always better is very arrogant and is a defining trait of a weeaboo.

We have the manga in our LRC (learning resource centre) at school, but not the first one, so I can't really get into it. We have the 4th...the 8th...and some other ones too.
But You guys seem to like it so I will try to read them a bit more.

Im up to Volume 12! I just cant seem to get my hands on it though..
I agree that the Dubbed version is terrible (YUKI'S VOICE MAKES ME WANT TO MATT ENGARDE MY FACE), but I watch it anyway because I would rather appreciate the picture than keep looking at the bottom for subs.
I Still love Shigure but Im liking Hatori more each day :D

I love Fruits Basket! It's one of my fave manga series (and like one of my earliest obsessions XD) ^__^ It has the ability to make me laugh and cry within pages.

The anime is funny, but I like the manga much better (partly 'cause the anime ended midway around vol 7)

Hatori was totally my first anime/manga crush XD I love Shigure and Ayame too, Mabudachi Trio ftw!

I love Kisa too, she's so adorable >w<

btw Essa_L_M.E: the Edgey in your avatar kinda looks like Shigure XD

Hiya guys! I havent checked this thread in ages.
I managed to borrow everything from 11-22 from the library. It took me forever to read becuase in that time AAI also came out and I was determined to finish Hotel Dusk. (Lucky it was holidays LOL) So, eventually and costing me 23 dollars at the library in late fees, I've read every one except 23. *sadface* I absolutely loved the end of 22, It almost made me cry. I was literally reading the last 30 pages in the car on the way to the library because my mum had had enough of them sending us letters to say we hadn't returned books. I finished it just as we found a parking spot. *sigh*
So anyways, I cant find the last one ANYWHEREEE. I'm so annoyed. What makes me even more annoyed is that I did find it but I didnt have my money on me and I couldn't buy it. Now I havent been back there in ages. Oh well, I'll read that book if it's the last thing I do!!

@MapleRose: Maybe that's why I liked it *awesomeface*

I finaly found it again, In a DVD shop. Who would have thought it would be in there?? Anyways, I finally got it (YAYAYAYAYAY) with a little help from the lady at the counter. I had it in my had as my mother was buying something else and the lady was all like "I LOVE Fruits Basket!!".
Then I went all fangirly and started chatting with her all about the Manga and the Anime, over the counter, holding up a line XD. Finally, my mum just agreed to buy it becuase she wanted to leave.
So there's my story! And I got a new Avi to celebrate!! :D
