College students stealing, screwing (figuratively and literally), and short-changing everyone and each other in an attempt to cash in on Mark Zuckerberg's multi-billion dollar social network darling.

And it is awesome.

The lighting is pitch-perfect with deep hues and dark shades, the characters and acting are nothing short of convincing, and soundtrack composed by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Atticus Ross compliments the shady and underhanded mood of the film perfectly. It also has Justin Timberlake whose performance nearly outshines even Jesse Eisenberg's.

Yes, it is a movie about Facebook but in the film it's the merely catalyst that is the source for all of the aforementioned betrayal and backstabbing that makes up the meat of the conflict.

It's not an "everyone gets rich and lives happily every after" film. It's a dramatized interpretation of greed and antipathy that drives humans to make sacrifices in the name of status, business, and success based on a book based on the real life legal conflicts between Mark Zuckerberg, his co-founding friends/roommates, and the guys he borrowed the idea from with some seediness and law breaking on the side.

This is one of those must-see-movies of the year people, so go see it and help it break even its $50 million budget!

I've read excellent reviews, some even saying it's Oscar material. And that surprised me, since I thought it'd be just an attempt to milk the Facebook hype. And apparently, it is, but inside a great movie.
I'll watch it as soon as it comes out around here... which I think is in November.

You're generalizing the movie way too much. I was skeptical too at first, but it's a really well done movie.
