Vaughn froze completely when the defense walked in. Wh.. wh... WHAT!? I spend all this time panicking, expecting to go up against the 'legendary' Apollo Justice, and this happens?! Oh well, keep it together, don't look fazed. Wait a second... that's the woman from earlier. Well, well, well, someone got a head-start on their case. I wonder if any of the 'court fanatics' came here expecting what I did. After regaining his composure, Vaughn examined the defense from across the room, pretending to get his files organized. Hmmm... I don't recognize her, and last I checked, I knew about all of Apollo's little students... guess it's rookie vs. rookie. Vaughn then noticed the accused. Hah, as always, the accused looks like a lamb in a slaughterhouse, though with any luck, it'll stay that way.

Rose leaned over on the desk and smirked a little, "So you're a rookie too?" She asked and waved. "the name is Rose Thorn and soon you will see me running the court up there instead of participating." She said pointing to the judges stand. "I guess today I just need to prove your bogus charge is a unfair one indeed."

Rose's personality was alittle over confident but she knew that if you think like a winner you will end up as a winner no matter what. Positive thinking keeps the mind clear and calm.

Vaughn raised his head from his files, looking in Rose's direction. "You are correct. I am a 'rookie'. My name is Robert Vaughn, and whether or not you will become a judge, or much less get a 'not guilty' verdict today remains to be seen." Vaughn said, arms crossed. "By the way, when did this 'substitution' happen? Last the prosecutor's office had heard, your mentor was going to be the defense."

Vaughn realized he was being a bit overt, perhaps rude, but this was just the way he acted around his opponents, he didn't have anything against Rose personally. Vaughn also noticed just how confident Rose was. While that was a trait to be respected, overconfidence inevitably results in disappointment, no matter how long it takes.

Rose stood up strait once again and looked around the judges stand. "Well we'll see what the judge has to say when we're done hm?" She asks her eyes still in the judges seat. Wondering where he could be Rose checked her silver watch and noticed it was already 4 minutes into the trial. The judge was late for her first trial, how unfair.

"How long is he gunna take back there." She whispered to herself and realized she would go the entire trial without sitting down. Pulling out her lips gloss she applied a new layer to her lips since they were getting dry. She didn't need a mirror to get it on properly either since she always needed it. Puckering her lips when finished she closed the little tub and pocketed it in her breast pocket.

(who's gunna be the judge?))

"Very well," Vaughn said, straightening up. Geez, what's taking the judge so long? The trial was scheduled to begin 5 minutes ago. This isn't exactly the grand entrance I was hoping to make. Vaughn then studied his opponent. Well, it's not like she's the most threatening opponent you've ever seen, but she definitely seems sure of herself. Vaughn then spoke up. "It seems quite strange for you to be flying solo here. Most attorneys usually have their mentor by their side during their first case."

(I feel it would be best if I wasn't the judge. Partly because it would be odd playing the offensive, and be the judge at the same time, and partly because I suck at playing multiple characters at the same time.

Bernard was leaning against the wall, more turmoiled than he had showed Vaughn up to that point. It was probably the thrill he always felt before the trial, that negated most of the confidence given in his preparation beforehand. However, when he made his survey, he saw no judge, so maybe the trial would take longer to take place: but the longer he'd wait, the longer his butterflies would act up. Sighing, he went to the closest machine to see if he could get a drink or two of soda, but all he saw was some snacks with intriguing courtroom-related names. Hmm. How don't they- Oh wait. I guess it's this one. He inserted some money and pressed the button. The price kind of stung, but he liked to always keep his pocket money to freely use like that.

((I suppose, then, that I would be the best to act as judge, even though it'd feel a bit weird once I got to the stand, and I have no experience playing multiple characters... but if it is how you guys prefer, I'll do so in my next post.))

((If that's what you want, I'm fine with it. I just thought it would be kinda weird to have one of us play both a side in court, and the judge. Also, it's good to know 34 years hasn't changed the vending machine.))
