Legacy walked into Wright & Co. Law Offices. A beautiful morning it was; and the sunshine pouring on Legacy's face just made it better. Legacy yawned, and put all of her stuff on the side table next to the couch. She picked up her coffee.

"What are we going to do at ten in the morning, Nick?" She asked, sipping at her coffee. "Everyone is still sleeping in LA."

But soon the silence of sleep would be broken.

Violently.

There was a sudden flash of light, brighter than the early sunlight, and a silhouette was tattooed onto Legacy's mind.

A human figure, arms held out in a gesture of great power...he was wearing a warrior's headband.

And then sound caught up with light, and the windows of Wright & van Troubelle Law Offices exploded inward, showering the room with glass shards. An entire room of the Gatewater Hotel across the street had been demolished by an explosion that left a charred gash in the building's side.

Then there was a quick glimpse of an eerily sinister purple flame...then it was gone.

People on the street below and the floors above the office began to scream in horror, and so the day continued, morning stained with ash.

Before Nick could answer, a noise rang through his body. Glass shattered, and shards of it went into Phoenix's face. He dove behind his desk, not knowing what to do.

As that happened, Legacy dropped her coffee on the white carpeted floor. As it being second nature, Legacy dropped to the floor, fetal position.

She didn't dare move.

A warm breeze fluttered in, tickling the back of Legacy's neck.

A droplet of nervous sweat fell to the floor.

Sirens began to wail as people thundered past the law offices. Their voices were muffled, but still understandable.

"...that was the hotel they rented out...."

"...I knew something like this would happen...."

"...MUGEN...."

"I bet it's all because of that Iori...."

Breathing heavily, Legacy rose from the floor. She tried to calm herself for a minute, and then went to check on Nick.

"Phoenix? Nick, are you okay?" Legacy asked, as she slowly approached the desk.

"I'm fine...I think. I just had glass shoot into my eyes, but I'm okay." He arose from behind the desk, scrapes on his face.

"That's good...but what happened? All of a sudden, a noise, then a wisp of purple air came in...and finally the sound of sirens. Was it a bomb?" Legacy asked, looking out the now glassless window.

"That's a good question. But, I don't think it was a bomb. I mean, who puts a bomb between a hotel and a law office?!" Phoenix asked.

"I guess you're right. I wonder who would do such a thing."

"I heard the name 'Iori' from outside the window..."

Legacy's eyes lit up. She glared at Phoenix. "Iori!?"

The sirens' screams grew louder as the emergency vehicles pulled up to the scene. Injured people were being escorted out into ambulances, while fire trucks began to spray water on the small fires that remained.

And then, one voice rose above the rest.

"IORIIIIIII!"

Time seemed to slow for a few seconds as the bird-like cry echoed down the city streets.

The street was awash in debris, and looked like a war zone. Fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances were scattered about civilian cars that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The firefighters were too busy caring for the flames licking at the hotel; the paramedics had eyes only for the wounded innocent.

No one noticed the thing in black weeping in the middle of the street.

She was apparently an enormous bird, 5'7" and clothed in a black trenchcoat and leather trousers. Her face was covered in blood red feathers. She had a beak and two curved horn-like ear tufts. A metallic helmet was on her head; its rather flamboyant decor said it was meant more for show than protection.

Even if she was indeed a bird, she was weeping thick tears into her gloved hands.

She was half-laying on top of a human male that had to be Iori Yagami. His head was bleeding and parts of his signature outfit was charred. The skin beneath was badly burned.

By that time they got to the entrance of the office, flames had almost latched onto the office building. With no care, Nick and Legacy ran to the crime scene. Phoenix stared at the fire. Legacy stared at the dying people.

With a slight movement of her eye, she caught the sight of someone in the street.

Make that two people.

Legacy screamed, and ran over to a paramedic; who was shoving someone into an ambulance.

"Victims...street...two people!...Iori..." Legacy, out of breath and breathing smoke, gaped trying to get the words out. When she finished talking, she had the paramedics full attention. She breathed, and spoke.

"There's people in the street! Go help them!" She said pointing to the street. The paramedic only nodded and ran over to where the two people were.

Legacy followed. She saw one of them actually being Iori, and the other one being...a bird?

Legacy gasped and covered her eyes. Blood everywhere.

She could could smell it when they carried they unconscious body in front of her. The smell of blood was so thick, it was heavier then the smell of smoke.

The bird creature slowly got up, her coat billowing in the fire's rage. The flames seemed to grow hotter around her body, as if she was facilitating the heat energy....

Then she turned around 180 degrees and charged towards the ambulance that held Iori. In doing so, she ran down Phoenix. The bird grabbed a handful of blue coat, and howled one exclamation that he'd never forget.

"Outta my way, jerkass!"

She threw Phoenix like a ragdoll to the ground, then continued on her path to the ambulance. She leapt on top of the screaming vehicle as it roared past the carnage to the nearest hospital.

When she heard the doors of the ambulance shut, Legacy opened her eyes. And screamed.

Phoenix, being held up by some bird woman, was dazed in horror. His mouth opened; eyes glaring steadily into hers. Phoenix had heard what she said, but the way she said it...was a bit abnormal. The bird woman threw Phoenix to the ground, creating a *THUMP* and a puff of debris.

The bird woman jumped on top of the ambulance. The one that held Iori.

"Nick! Nick, are you okay?!" Legacy asked running towards him, as soon as she thought it safe.

"I...don't know. One thing's for sure though. That bird thing wasn't human." Phoenix said, standing up and rubbing his back.

"Well, let's get back to the office. We'll check you out there. It's too dangerous out here." Legacy said.

"Right..." Legacy and Phoenix started towards the building.

When they got inside, Legacy dusted Phoenix off and made him lay on the couch.

"Take a nap or something. If you move around to much, you'll bruise more." Legacy said looking over the back of the couch at him.

"I'm not planning on going anywhere, anyway." Legacy stuck her tongue out at him, and then picked up her coffee cup off the floor.

"What are you planning to do about that stain?" Phoenix asked.

"I'm planning to go to the nearest corner store and get some stain remover." Legacy smirked. "Do you need anything?"

"A pain reliever." Phoenix said.

"Okay then. Will you be okay alone? I'll be gone for like, ten minutes. Will you need me between that time?" She asked.

"No. I'll be fine."

Or so he thought.

Noah knocked on the door. "Hey Phoenix," He said, still knocking. "I was headed up this way so the guys down at the station told me to deliver something to you." Noah, who DID see the damage outside, figured this is how it always was because this was his first time here. He also saw an ambulance pass him on the way with some... THING on top of it, but he though that was just some company pulling a promotion. No suspicion of anything at all. That's Noah: The only reason he remains a prosecutor sometimes is that his last name was von Karma.

Legacy rolled her eyes. "Noah! I haven't seen you in forever! Not since you got out of college, anyway." She paused. "Wait, that's no way to greet someone! I didn't murder anyone! I'm a defense attorney, you everloving..." She stopped herself. "Noah, I'm going to the store to get painkillers for Phoenix. Do you need anything?" She asked in the sweetest voice that she could muster.

If Phoenix wasn't there, Legacy would've grabbed Noah's collar, and punched him. That's what happens with relatives.

Noah saw her badge. "OH! Ok. Well, anyway, yeah. I was headed up this way and I was at the Police office and they wanted me to deliver you a few things. FIRST: A formal request from Gumshoe to stop pointing your finger. I'll just throw that away. SECOND: A box of evidence. I can't say what it is. Not because it's confidential, I just forgot what it was. THIRD: Edgeworth says hi. LAST: Is that coffee on the ground?" Noah passed Nick the box ad looked closely at it. He examined it, smelled it a little, touched it, then looked up and said: "Yes, this was with cream, spilled around fifteen minutes ago, a cheapo blend, and... from the looks of it there was a struggle near it. Anything to say about that, Griffin?" He said, looking at Nick and showing off his forgetful side. AGAIN.

Nick just stared at him. "Um, yeah, thanks, Noah...I think." Phoenix shrugged and opened the box. Legacy grabbed Noah off the floor.

"Noah! C'mon, now. You're smelling the carpet! That's not human. But then again, I'm sure you're not human either..." Legacy started, but interrupted herself. "Well, I'll be back in ten minutes. Nick, watch Noah for me?" Legacy asked, walking out the door.

"Yeah." Nick said as as she shut the door. "So, Noah, how are you? Any good cases?" Phoenix had no idea why he was being so friendly towards Noah. Maybe because he is a relation of Legacy?

"Oh, yeah!" Noah said in his usual friendly yet a little naive tone. "I've taken a few where, get this: I only took them because, after researching and checking ALL the possibilities, KNEW the guy was guilty, but I took them ONLY so Payne wouldn't! I mean, If the guy ISN'T guilty, I tell Payne that the case is in the bag, he takes it, the guy get the not guilty verdict he deserves." Noah looked around the office. "Hmmm... you know, something seems out of place here. I know I've never been here before but..." Noah thought for a moment. "...I got it! Isn't uh... Inca supposed to be here?"

"Oh, really? That's new...well, besides Legacy. Even though she doesn't have von Karma as a last name, she's still worthy of the blood. And she's not ever really happy about it. That's why she became a lawyer, by the way. She wanted to stop the whole line of prosecutors. She was sick of it. She hated her grandfather, and Franziska was mean to her in the same way. Legacy didn't ever love her family, beside her parents, you know?" Phoenix paused after his speech, surprised he said so much about Legacy. He usually never really tells anyone about people.

"But, changing the subject, Edgeworth turned you to coffee, eh? That's a change. Edgeworth wouldn't convert anyone to anything. Especially coffee. He would recommend tea over coffee any day. Maya would too, though. Oh, right speaking of Maya, she's probably on the couch watching TV. Steel Samurai, Pink Princess, Jammin' Ninja...really all the crap that there can be. She may not be in today. And you don't need to be around when-" Phoenix stopped by the sound of an opening door.

"Oh, hey guys. Pain killers are for Phoenix, I got myself another cup of coffee, I also got stain remover...oh, and for Noah, I went to the Starbucks across the street. Because he's picky." She threw Phoenix the pain killers, handed Noah his Starbucks, and tried to get the stain out of the carpet. By the time she got off her hands and knees, you could barely see it, but it was still there. Satisfied, Legacy washed her hands of the chemicals, and then drank her "cheapo" coffee.

"So, boys, what were you talking about? It seems quiet...Nick, did you give Noah one of your speeches again!?" Legacy rolled her eyes.

"No, I wouldn't call it a speech..."

Just then someone else came through the door.

A Defense attourney came up to talk to Legacy

"......Hello sister, It's me Takita." said the Defense Attourney named Takita von Awezomme

Phoenix stood puzzled for a moment then asked "You two are brother and sister ?"

Takita Replied "....Her family adopted me when my family was killed. We are both the same age."

Phoenix asked "Why did you come here?"

Takita gave his adopted sister a Bouquet of flowers

Takita said to Phoenix "I came here to give my sister these flowers. Phoenix, if you ever need help, call me. I'm a Defense attourney across town. My number is written on the back of this card. Sorry I have to leave sis'. I have to be in court in a few minutes."

Phoenix took the card and Takita left.

Totto Leone walked up to the door of the law office and knocked on the door and saw someone getting hit by a car when he turned around real quick he rushed over.

Sitting at her desk ((that is right, I am roleplaying a female character!)) at the prosecutors office Danica finishes her paper work from her last case as she takes them down to the Court to be filed away. On her way there she noticed a lot of police activity going on as she was puzzled on what was happening. She looks in the direction where smoke was coming from as she thought "That is right by the Wright & Co Law offices!" She made her way towards 'ground zero' as she looks and assesses the damage. "Oh, my god, so many innocent people...." She said looking around, forgetting she still had her paperwork in her hands.

Everyone around was going made, "Iori" this and "Iori" that, even talking about some wierd bird like person too. "This is too much for me" She said as she looked around, she noticed a familiar prosecutor walk into the Wright & Co Building as she followed a long. She was outside looking in as she saw a few others enter and leave. Finally she goes in and says.

"Excuse me, can someone tell me what had happened earlier?"

That's right, I'm producing something. Expect something to come out of my new production studio.

"What was that about?" Phoenix asked.

((Ay ay ay! I leave for a few days and already the monotony has set in!))

The door suddenly swung open and a blonde man came in. While he was certainly outlandish, he was very human. His hair, pulled back into a tail, reached his hips. He wore jeans, a white shirt, and a red vest. He had several small lacerations on his body.

"Oh my god!" Danica said as she went to the man who got hit by the car. "His injuries don't look bad, but it could be he is suffering from internal bleeding." She looked up to the man that brought him in. "Did you not notice the ambulances running around outside?" She said as she looked to Noah, Phoenix, and the others there. "Someone, get a cold compress and start to press over his body a bit to keep the swelling down, I'll go and get help from the paramedics down on the street" She said as she took off to find someone.

That's right, I'm producing something. Expect something to come out of my new production studio.

"God! What the hell has this world come to?!" Legacy asked as she called 911.

For the oddest reason, Legacy noticed that Noah was acting normal. Who acts normal when five different people come in and tell you such information!?! One minute, someone gives you flowers, and the next, someone gets hit by a car.

"Hang on, I got it." Noah went out to his car, got a cooler and, of all things, took out an iced coffee. "This should help you." He pressed it down on the part that was swelling. "Wright, you have any hydrogen peroxide and gonz?" Noah asked. "I might also need some rubbing alcohol and cotton balls." Noah seemed to be too good at this. How would a state prosecutor have this kind of expertise?
...Oh, by the way, it was one of those canned iced coffees. And he actually grabbed a few.

Danica saw an available paramedic as she said. "We need some help" she said, still holding those papers she needs to turn into the court house. "A man is hurt pretty badly, hit and run from the looks of it. Seems like there are internal injuries" She said as she grabbed the paramedic by the arms and made him follow her.

She, as quickly as she left, arrived with the paramedic. Noah was helping him out a bit as the paramedic stood over next to noah as he examined the man and began to administer some First aid with his kit that he had in his hands. He reached for his radio and called the ambulance to come down and bring a strecher.

Danica relieved sighed as she looked at her hands. "OH NO!" she said. "I forgot I need to take these papers to the court house."
