In sooo many ways, she thought darkly. She bent down under the counter where she kept a small special safe as the drawer. She ritualistically typed in the code but really felt a quiet humming as where her fingerprints touched were read. There was a small tick and she pulled the drawer open. She tried not to feel nervous when she smiled and placed the book carefully on the counter.
"Only two minutes, okay?"

"Shonen Jump? I remember reading that when I was a kid. Which was at least a decade ago. Nowadays I read the less known stuff like Zetman or Mazinger. But yeah, that'll be $8.73."
If the fact that he had only one eye didn't scare her off, then yeah. He'd have enough reason to think she had some degree of resolve.

Mac was incredibly impressed with the guy. Mac had been to a few fighting tournaments before as a way to kill time but was always beaten in the first round....But he still watched in awe at how some of the players were able to make characters who seemed weak into fighting machines! But that was besides the point...Mac moved away from the Machines and started to look for series to read.
((Zetman?! I love that series! Though, I haven't read it in awhile so my memory stinks..Oh, and for the record, I'm going to say that Mac has very acute hearing.))

She took the book and carefully placed it back in its special safe. She closed the door a bit harder than she needed to. Who had leaked her possession of it? This wasn't a good thing at all. If a random kid heard about her having it, then that scumbag might hear too. He might be stupid enough to believe that Bloody Mary was dealing through Maria Hart but that still didn't make things less annoying. That was a connection she didn't need.
All the more reason to hurry up and kill him. Her cellphone buzzed. Speak of the devil.
Maria kept two cellphones. The second was fostered under a fake identity she had set up with a security number she'd ripped off a dead person. Her primary one was for personal use, for Maria, but the second one...
She furtively looked at the third customer. He still seemed busy so she snuck back into the back and answered with a low, flat voice unrecognizable from her regular one. "Is he ready?"
"Trade's tonight, same spot as the last. Don't be wasting our-"
Click. Maria looked at the phone in almost disgust, then the calendar with had 'HR' scribbled in red.
Tonight could be the night.
She slipped back into the main store area.
For now though, she had other work to do.

Once the customer left, Itami just picked up a nearby comic and started to read. Times were getting boring since business was slow and almost no one wanted to play him thanks to his machines. He never figured out why people couldn't get past the 1st stage. Oh well.

Mac had only been wandering for a few minutes when he felt a rather large killing intent that seemed to encircle him...Mac sighed out loud as he decided to walk into a alley to fight who ever was giving off the intent...
"All right. I know you are there. You're killing intent is so thick it's scaring the animals around here."
And with that a being fell from the roof. It surprised Mac when instead of landing on it's feet it simply splated on the floor. Mac was going to go see if it was all right when it got back up, bones cracking at an audible range. It's pure white jump had holes from some of it's bones sticking out and it's face was disfigured from it's fall. Mac winced as it tried to stand up straight, Was this the thing that sent off that large killing intent or was it something that was knocked off by the killing intent?
"Oh....God...How can you stand?"
"M.H.P, Name given by self Mac. I am S.H.H.P #467. I am here to arrest you and bring you back."
"Wait! ....That project was a failure! They are sending failures at me?"
"Wrong. After you're escape they decided to use you as a template for the project. It worked. We can now heal at incredible rates and Morph. Though your project is now obsolete they view you as a very valuable resource. I have orders to harm you as little as possible."
"Huh....Super Healing and Morphing. Great. Well, Luckily I know my own weakness. Let's hope they didn't!"
And with that Mac rushed in and did a straight punch right in 467's gut. It's bones were all ready back inside of it and it's face was back to normal when it was sent flying into a wall. Mace went into a fighting stance and watched as it came back up from the rubble unscathed.
"Oh boy....This is going to be interesting..."

Luneth waved good-bye and dropped out of the window. "We'll meet again, I'm sure of it," she shouted as she plummeted to the ground. Her wings snapped open and she glided up. Changing over her vision to infrared, she noticed that there was a struggle going on in an alley.
Luneth moved in closer and zoomed in. It was Mac fighting something. Drawing the knife out of her boot, she aimed it at the unknown person. As Luneth aimed, she noticed that the heat signature was different from Mac's and she took note of that. Then she threw the knife.
It lodged itself into the chest area, where its heart was supposedly was. She looked harder, trying to find out its functions.

467 after an failed barrage jumped back and stared at Mac. Suddenly it morphed both of it's arms into long thin Blades and rushed at Mac again. Mac was stunned, He was the pinnacle of Human morphing but even for him it was incredibly hard to morph body parts into non-living items! Had they really moved that fast? Mac's train of thought was interrupted by the blades almost cutting him. If Mac didn't figure a way out of this he'd dead very fast.
