Alison blushed lightly "Uhmmm no I'm afraid I took cover in the hospital store room shortly after the 2nd floor was lost but the hospital helicopter left long before that.....I never heard anything else while I was in there I'm afraid, if your friend came then he left, maybe the infected forced him to find a further retreat?" she suggested to Ethan before perking up as Luneth reloaded her gun "Who is this Everett you talk about? What does he know about the virus?" she asked.

Ethan looked to Luneth and replied, "He never would have a reason to get close to the infected. I'd bring the survivors to the Police station, and he'd transport them to the outpost from there. Meanwhile, he'd use the basement downstairs as a temporary safehouse from the infected."

As he listened to the doctor's explanation, he sighed, a weight lifting from his chest. Maybe Mike was still alive was still alive.

Ethan said to Gin, "Yes, a temporary safehouse. You wouldn't believe how many people have outlasted the infected by going into the basement and barricading the door. A couple died because a few hunters took up residence inside sometimes. Overall though, basements are usually quite secure, unless dealing with tanks."

He checked his ammo as he continued, "Reason he had to stay here was to keep close to the chopper. My station didn't have a helipad. I provided him a shotgun for clearing the path to the stairwell. From there, it was an easy path to the chopper."

Whatever the three decided, he would follow.

If you want to get accustomed to the pistol, then why don't you try it out on some of the infected? Don't worry, I've got your back." Luneth looked around for any signs of the infected and remained alert. "The station isn't far, but I will caution you on being really quiet. It won't do us any good to be attacked by a horde on the way. Or would you rather take the roof route?"

"If we take the roof route, you might have to jump some of the gaps, but in some case, we might have to be out on the street for a bit, so it's your choice. And when we get back, can you tell me what are some of the variants that are out and about?" Luneth quickly went through her options. The street was faster, but more dangerous. But the roof was slower, but there is a danger of falling. What to do?

Alison frowned "Well....Variant's are simply technical names for the special infected you come across. Variant Mark 3 is the kind known as hunter designed for climbing and pouncing the rooftops are their territory I imagine it'd be unusually dangerous considering it's approaching nighttime so I think we should stay to the street, of course the word safe doesn't mean much these days so it's trouble wherever we go" she said.

"Okay, let's go. Gun ready?" Luneth walked out and stuck to the middle of the streets. "Be quiet and careful of where you walk, since a noise might draw their attention. (Well, my vote goes to the police department) [I'll have to make a long post for what's happened]

"..." He couln't disagree their worry for another survivor and Ethan's idea to see if his chopper pilot was okay, so he moved on towards the kind of safehouse. As he was just being followed by Kimiko, he ent toward it pointing his shotgun carefully, then as he got in front of the door he called not too loud in order not to drive the infecteds to their position: "Hey, is someone in there? Hello?" He then pushed the door with a kick and quickly pointed, then he saw a man with a bullet wound in his head. It looked like he had comitted suicide. Victor felt sorry for not arriving sooner, then he made the sign of the cross with his hand and walked towardsa the body, took the clip of his pistol and the radio that he kept. He looked at it and said: "Hey, this is Victor Sullivan, police officer. If you guys are still alive I'm heading towards the police station, it's getting too dark and if we don't hurry we'll be prey for the hunters, over". Then he moved on and walked towards Kimiko and told her: "Hey, we have to move out soon, if we don't the hunters will surround us by nighttime" He then made a sign for her to follow him and started moving.

(I'm really sorry but I'll have to drag Panda's character so she's not out in the open when definetly it becomes nightime, sorry Panda.)

They started running at the midpoint of the way to the station, and when they reached for the station Victor stopped quickly as a Charger spotted them, he yelled: "Run! Go to the station!" Then he took his shotgun, charged it and pointed, as he gave the first shot and missed, the charger pushed him all the way to the wall of the station, he fell and the charger raised his gigantic arm and when he was about to crush him, Victor shot him in the head and blew it up throwing blood everywhere, then he stood up and went into the station.

Gin turned to Ethan. "I suppose we should follow them?" he walked casually over towards the police station. He watched very carefully as a charger assaulted Victor, and tried to discern its behavior. Very aggressive, it seems. What would actually drive these things to kill us?, he wondered as he walked in through the police station. He had barely made it through before he was caught by a smoker. The tongue had wound itself in a vice grip around his neck, restricting the use of his voice, so as he hung on to the door, he used his free hand to smash his sword on the wall as loud as he could. It was a battle of strength between human and infected, and the infected would probably prevail, unless he received help.

Stopping to regain his breath, he opened his eyes, revealing a set of reddish golden eyes with ellipse pupils. The smoker's tongue was powerful. "Yeah..." he regained his composure. "So then, anything particularly...special about this...station?" several dead bodies littered the floor among the streaks of blood. It was quite gruesome really. "Or are we here to admire the beautiful artwork?"

She realised that she still had blood splattered across her cheek from the thing Victor had shot at and she hurriedly wiped it away. It wasn't as though Kimiko wasn't used to death-maybe it was that she'd always been the one dealing it out. In control. Or perhaps she just really didn't want to die...

Alison let out the breath she'd been holding in relief after the attack of the infected before turning to Victor and removing a wipe from her bag "Here this antiseptic wipe should help you clean up your face, it'll also sanitise any cuts you've received" she said before sighing "Nice to meet you Victor, Alison Fairhaven a doctor from the hospital here" she said tentatively exploring the open reception area now they were inside "Well this place seems quiet enough but it appears they are attacking more frequently" she said frowning at the marks on Gin's neck "We would do well to find cover here quickly...and some additional weapons" she sighed looking at her own meek pistol.

"Oh, you and your jokes." he laughed, and turned back to watch the road. It had been leveled in several places, and the stench of decaying flesh saturated the air near and around it. Gin grimaced and scanned the apartments opposite the station. The windows had nearly all been smashed. No doubt it was the work of desperate humans trying to flee. One room was lit, a flickering glow in the window, obscured by curtains. The curtains themselves were flickering as well. A fire...not uncommon these days.

And of course, there would be hunters. The sun had set, and the sky had turned dark violet. There would be no reliable way to track the hunters. So he became prudent and stuffed his last incendiary grenade in the barrel of his rifle grenade launcher, and kept a vigilant eye, although never widening his own past slits. There would be no mercy.

Variant nine? the voice echoed through the halls. Probably a witch. No flashlights meant a witch. They were heavy, but...

He drew his sword again and, abandoning his position, followed the two women, very quietly, into the basement.

"Huh? Say what?" Luneth grinned. She quietly walked down the stairs. Being cautious, she opened the door to the basement. It squeaked and she froze. "Careful guys." Flipping to the infrared, Luneth checked out what was inside.

The door creaked open, and the witch turned.

She screeched. It was a terrifying sound, high pitched, but very cacophonous, like claws scratching a chalkboard. With one stare, the witch lifted her deadly claws and rushed at the two women just as Gin had neared the bottom of the steps.

And his own instincts caused him to jump down and stab her, very cleanly, with his sword. Something was blocking its entry though. Tough skin...like armor! The sword sunk 3 inches and forced him into a deadly dance with her, but the proximity prevented her from using her claws lethally. The claws themselves were sharp, so much that even the slightest graze put cuts into his skin, skin that was protected by body armor five times as tough as Kevlar.

"Shoot her." he announced impassively. The witch was locked with him, and there was only one way to end it.

Luneth raised her rifle and fired. It hit the witch in the head, and she sighed. The witch collapsed dead, and Luneth stepped over it. There was a couple infected in the basement, and she made short work of them. "Well, then, where's the switches?"

Alison sighed a breath of relief seeing the witch fall "That was very well done but are you still sure you should turn on the electricity, such a display is certain to attract waves of the infected and the hunters will be out in force by now, we could easily just hole up in here until the morning" she said shivering as she passed the dead witch carefully.
