"That night, when Soren thought everyone was asleep, he went to the princess's chambers. But not everyone was asleep. Princess Esmeralda was wide awake, wearing commoner clothes. Soren bowed respectfully, trying to find the best way to force her to come with him. Perhaps threatening her and her family would work or he could knock her out or...
"'You are the merchant, are you not?' she asked, interrupting his thoughts. Soren nodded. 'Then I order you to take me with you.' Soren was taken aback, so Esmeralda decided to explain. 'I am to marry someone tomorrow, but I don't love them. Rather, I hate him with every fiber of my being. He just wants to marry me so the people of his pathetic excuse for a kingdom would follow him.' Soren raised an eyebrow. The princess glared right back at him as if it was all his fault. 'So I must get out of here before daybreak. I will pay you handsomely, of course.'
"'I suppose I cannot say, 'no,' can I?" Soren asked levelly. The princess gave him a curt nod.
"'I would escape myself, but I would have no means of leaving the kingdom. I just want to get as far away from here as possible,' Esmeralda said. She then tied her bedsheets around herself and jumped out the open window. Soren gaped after her. Never before had he seen a lady so brave or with such grace, even though he kidnapped princesses all the time. Soren shook his head. 'This is just another kidnapping. Nothing more,' he thought, but he didn't convince even himself as he jumped after her, grabbing her sheets to stop himself. Both their weight combined was enough to make them rip, and they fell to the ground, Soren landing on top of the princess.
"'Sorry, Your Highness,' Soren said, getting off her and offering is hand to help her up. 'Best get up. We have a long journey ahead of us.' Those words sounded so...Strange to Soren. He normally didn't talk like that.
"'Do not use any formalities when we're around people, Peasant," Esmeralda snapped. 'Unless you want to be hanged.' Again, Soren was surprised by the princess's behavior. She was just so...Blunt, which wasn't a quality most princesses did not possess.
"'As you wish, Esmeralda,' Soren responded, and they ran to his ship, which sailed off into the distance as soon as they boarded." Lida stopped for a moment to take yet another drink, a consequence of using so many voices.

"'Should we attack the city now, Captain?' First-mate Clive asked.
"'Why would we? We already have everyone we need,' Soren replied, going down to his cabin with the princess. 'Besides, we should save our weapons for something more dire. Like for where we're going next.' Clive nodded.
"'So we depart?'
"'Yes, Clive. We'll leave and get a nice head start,' Clive replied before shutting the door to his cabin.
"'Attack the town?' Esmeralda asked. 'You...You're not a merchant are you?'
"'You caught me. I'm a bloody pirate,' Soren answered. 'But don't worry. I won't harm you or...'
"'Yeah, save your breath, Scoundrel,' Esmeralda interrupted, walking out of his cabin.
"'Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,' Soren called after Esmeralda, who slammed the cabin door behind her. 'It's great to be a pirate.' He turned and grabbed a crystal-clear orb, which he turned over in his hand.
"'Soren O' Ryan...' a female voice said. He turned around, expecting to see Esmeralda, but he saw no one. 'Soren...Your future is upon you.
'You will be betrayed by the one person you trust.
'You will fall in love with someone who could never love you back.
'You will...' Soren shoved the orb in a drawer, where he would not have to hear the rest of that fortune. Stupid Oracle, he thought. Who needs them?
"The next day, Prince Blake went to the princess's chambers to find her missing after a servant told him that the merchant was no longer there. He stared around the room.
"'Just as I thought. He could not be trusted. I swear, if I ever see him again, I'll make him pay,' the prince swore." Lida took yet another drink. "The most exciting stuff happens later."

After hearing the announcement from BlackJack, Kuruki decided to actually settle down in this hotel. A glance out the window showed her that there was tons of snow outside, making it impossible to leave the hotel. After obtaining a cup of tea from the bar, she went over to Lida and the small circle of people gathered around her. After listening in for a few minutes, Kuruki decided to stay and hear the rest of the story. After all, there was no where else to go and the story was an interesting one.

"Esmeralda stared at the sea, thinking about what just happened. So he was a pirate all along. What was the big deal?
"'He'll force me to go back after he gets his money. That's what pirates do,' she thought aloud, glaring at her murky reflection in the sea. Then, she saw something in the distance. Another ship. And it was heading straight toward them! But they're coming from the front, which means they're not here for me.
"'We have a problem,' Soren announced. 'There is one ship behind us, and another in front. We're on a collision course.'
"'S-someone behind us?' Esmeralda asked, whipping around.
"'Yes. And they're gaining quick. Probably a friend of yours from the kingdom,' Soren replied.
"'What's the plan?' Clive inquired, showing up behind Soren, who turned around when he talked.
"'I'll make us move faster. We might be able to avoid the Tepple ship,' Soren answered.
"'What about the other ship? The one in front of us?'
"'We'll blow right past them. Tell everyone to hold tight. Bring Esmeralda to my cabin. We can't afford to lose her,' Soren responded. 'And prepare to fight in case this doesn't work.' Clive nodded and grabbed Esmeralda.
"'Hey! I can fight, too, you know!' she protested.
"'And I'm not saying you can't. I'm saying you'll be the main target for all sides. At least in my cabin, you'll only have to fight one or two at a time. Not 50 or 60," Soren retorted as Clive led Esmeralda away. Then, he pulled out his staff and began concentrating. The waves began to get bigger around the ship and started propelling them forward. He made them propel the ship to the point where it was going twice as fast as before. Some canons from the other ship fired, but the water seemed to catch the cannonballs. And soon the other ship was stuck on a block of ice, with 'Courtesy of Captain Soren O' Ryan' carved into the side of it. As they passed it, Soren noted that that ship was a pirate ship."

((I may be wrong but I believe when someone's been perma-banned, they names stop linking to their profiles, and their stats (Rank, avatar, posts, location, etc) disappear.
Again, I don't know if I'm right, but I've seen users like that.
