Lana walked into her office, pulled out the note, and leaned back in her chair. No one was with her, so she began reading:

Dear Mr. Power,

We are very sorry to inform you that your former partner, Carla, has been severely injured in a car accident. She is in critical condition at the Hotti Clinic, room number 435. We at the Police Department give you all of our apologies, and hope you can cope with this.

Karla was in the filing room, tidying up some cases at the request of one of the requests of one of the prosecutors. Since Lana approved it she mostly helped finish paperwork because of the number of cases that had the pros running around. She got to skim some of the cases as she did so, and used an empty office to help fill any gaps.

"Whether you're a solicitor or a prosecutor Karla, the truth is what matters in court!" her sister had told her once. Karla never forgot it, her sister worked as a solicitor back in England. She was well-known for digging out the truth from the most well-crafted lies.

((A solicitor is the English counterpart to the word attorney))

"Let's go to a conference room. They're always empty." She walked out of her office, past Kirby, and hailed the elevator. She got in and pressed the corresponding button.

After 30 seconds, the doors openned, and she took out a key.

The conference room was only about 9 feet by 9 feet with a table and chairs around it.

"You can go see her." she pulled out the letter and put it in Darzie's hand.

Autumn barreled into the Prosecutors' Office with a look of determination on her face. Her high self-esteem was shattered, however, when she realized that because she hadn't been told whether or not she got the job yet, she (1) didn't know where to go and (2) wasn't even sure if she was supposed to be here.

She thought for a while and decided to ask the Chief point-blank: Did she get the job? She ran to the elevator, boarded it, and pressed the button. She patiently waited as the elevator ascended to the Chief Prosecutor's office.
