At the mention of these new mental images, Hubris flinched. A new outlet had presented itself the moment Walt and Saile spoke.

"...damn it, guys. You ruined my epic hero-banter!" Hubris snapped, speaking slightly softer so that only Walt and those nearby could hear, and ultimately turning his attention dangerously away from the stranger. "Seriously, that was a metaphor! What is wrong with you two!? I'm not that sick as to ram things into-- seriously, what the hell!? Gah, I can't get the images out of my head!!"

"Times up, punk." Hubris said, returning to his aggressions to this unwelcome stranger. "Your words are enough to take as answers-- whatever you want from any of us isn't good."

As Hubris spoke, the flagship-mirror (his only diamond shaped one) seperated from the ones behind him, moving out before its owner. When Hubris finished, he struck a defensive pose, and the mirror began to rotate in place. With a flash, all of Hubris's other mirrors shot in separate directions, fading into thin-air as they went.

"Get ready!" Hubris then shouted, before rushing towards this new stranger, the still spinning weapon traveling just above his outstretched palm.

((If I'm vague, please tell me-- it's can get hard to dictate actions between man and several objects. XD))

The person raised his hand, palm outstretched to Hubris. He said "I thought you'd be more fun," and then chuckled, probably ready to attack. "Aww, what's wrong? Are you mad? Who's mad? Who's mad? YOU ARE!" He yelled, trying to make Hubris angrier. The person looked around, thinking 'What's wrong with them? Aren't they going to help their freind?' and not noticing he wasn't paying attention to the person about to attack him.

((The following took a while to think up and make feasible. Grade-A action scene, this ain't.))
Hubris ignored the babble this bizarre fellow spouted-- it was a plain attempt to psych him out, and even without his prior (skim-)readings in books on psychology, the trick was being wasted on the wrong person.
"You talk too much." Hubris muttered as the spinning mirror above his palm shined again. Quite abruptly, Hubris froze where he stood, mid-stride.

Or, so it looked. Despite what was seem by the rest of the world, his footfalls kept sounding off as he rapidly approached his adversary. He invisible to the world through his illusion; like trapping his image in the air as if taking a photograph.

Even still, it was short-lived: it began to wear off very quickly, yet as the still-image illusion started to fade, the hidden Hubris had closed the gap between himself and the stranger. Just as the illusion dispelled and he became visible again, Hubris had dropped low to the ground and spun himself around so that his back faced the foe. Using the last of the momentum, he pushed off the floor with his arms and sent both his legs upward toward the stranger, in a 'mule-kick'.

Walt walked toward the stranger, sidestepping as Hubris mule-kicked. He didn't get too close, but the farther away he had to cast the spells, the more energy it would take. He pulled out his blade, ready to swing it at any moment.

The stranger got kicked hard in the chin, and flew back, landing on his back a few feet away from where he was standing. He got back up, and thought 'That was a very powerful kick... Lets see how he copes with this!' He put his palm back to Hubris, still sort of stunned. A blue energy beam shot out of his hand, heading toward Hubris. He spun around, and shot another one at Walt. His aim was off because he was stll stunned, but it was a pretty solid and strait beam of energy.

The beams both froze in mid-air, then turned around and went flying back toward the stranger.
"Never underestimate your opponent," Walt said. He was still tired, but that didn't matter right then. All that mattered was getting the stranger to go away.

"Oh, Don't worry. I wont." The person said. the beams headed toward him, he jumped out of the way, noticing that Walt couldn't keep sending the beams back forever, nor could he send them forever. He shot one at Walt again, but this time, the beam curved left and right, and up and down. The person then waited for his chance to do a powerful blow.

"Hey, you aren't just fighting him!" Hubris said, making another dash to the stranger. He his right arm pulled back, as if preparing to swing a punch, yet his eyes were not looking at his foe, but rather towards the progress of the laser-attack.

As Hubris moved, the beam started to rigidly redirect itself of what seemed like it's own accord, turning and rebounding at harsh angles until it was speeding past Hubris, and at the stranger.

"Here let me show you.."

Saile once again pulled out his bag and rummaged through it.

"Damn it where is it?"

Saile stuck the sword back inside the bag.

"Hmm, I forgot how to work one of these things."

And Saile thought to himself; "Could I be forgetting about anything having to do with the angels?"

He stuck his whole head in the bag, trying to find the object.

"Ah found it!"

He then pulled out a ring, it was crafted to look like two headed snake biting at the green diamond at the top.

"It's a diamond that's been exposed to radiation."

He set it in Nadine's hand.

"Oh it's perfectly safe it's just colored different."

The stranger dodged his beam, said "I know," Then fired two beams at Hubris, then two more, each curving strangely, until they were headed torward Saile. "What in the..." The person started. The beams starting heading torward some point in the air, then bounced off from different directions, out of control. They hit yet more points in the air, and kept bouncing everywhere.

Wow, Nadine said in a hushed voice, momentarily forgetting about the fight. She took the ring, slipping it on a finger experimentally and admiring it from all angles. It's really pretty, she said before slipping it back off and holding it out for Saile with a smile.

((Nice, using the environment I had Hubris set up, Wulfy. XD))

"Walt, I think you are being a little too submissive." Hubris said, followed with a mutter of "Just kill this guy already, I know he won't stop by asking politely" under his breath.

Hubris's mirrors remained invisible, spread out and constantly moving, randomly, and away from themselves and others. The one that did not hide-- the spinning one Hubris had, kept on turning in the air just above his open palm.

Walt sighed.
"Diplomacy never works, does it?" he asked. Then, he looked at the stranger and charged with his blade out. The idea was that he'd slash and use the beams he absorbed to extend his reach.

((XD Yup.)) The person saw Walt charging, and wondered what to do. He outstreched his palm, and shot a red twirling beam from it, aiming at Walt. 'Something happened back there, to make my beams bounce like that... I wonder...' He looked at everyone.

"Ha!" Walt slashed his sword at the red twirling beam, knocking it back at the stranger. "You underestimate the enchantments on my sword." He then stopped for one distracted second. I thought I left those old mannerisms behind... Flashbacks of massacres were coming into his mind all so rapidly he fell over, physically sick from them. He had led so many of those. Not even innocent children survived.

"I didn't." The person said as the beam came back at him. When it reached him, he shot a VERY bright yellow beam at the red twirling one, making the red beam stop and dissapear. The yellow beam curved, aimed at Hubris, then fired. The yellow beam was so bright, the stranger had to cover his eyes as he shot another red beam from his palm, trying to aim at Hubris correctly.

Walt saw the yellow beam out of the corner of his eye. It was heading straight for Hubris. I can be weak later. I can remember later. Right now, he needs help. Walt leaped in the way of the beam, casting a shield in front of him. It was the most energy efficient way he could think of to save Hubris, if only for a moment.

Hubris had been prepared for the laser attack. Even without knowing there was a second attack covered by the luminous glare of the first, he had already called all his mirrors to in front of him, preparing for a 'spacial rebound', to force the very air away with the reflect-push his mirrors created, to counter and hopefully repel the laser with equal force.

Right as he started to 'charge' them, as they finally reached formation (all seven in a tight ring around the diamond-eighth), Walt had jumped in front, before him. It shocked Hubris, startling him and sending focus clear out the door.

"D-damn it! Move!" He blurted, instinctively letting loose a hefty 'reflect' from the combined force of all eight mirrors, right against Walt and the inside of his barrier.

Walt felt himself being pushed back. His shield was rapidly weakening. It would only be a matter of time before it shattered completely. Then, the barrier went flying out of his grasp as he fell to the ground. The weak barrier with no one to reinforce it shattered against the beams, barely even slowing them down.
Idiot! he thought. It's Hubris. He could defend himself just fine. Why did you even consider jumping in the way? Moron!

((I've watched a few new and older movies lately, and I have to say, I feel like some of my unspoken ideas have been used already. Well, back to the writing. I'll touch on Hubris later. ^^;))

-[UNKNOWN ANOMALIES DETECTED. BARRING FURTHER STUDY, INITIATION OF LAND ERASURE ADVISED.]-
-[PERMISSION FOR INITIATE?]-
-[Y/N]-

The satellite continued to watch the planet below, analyzing everything beyond normal specifications. This 'eye in the sky' gazed down, watching the battle unfold, constantly switching between observational fields: normal video recording, x-ray, infrared, alternate spectrum, radioactivity observation, spectral analysis, and many more.

All this information was collected, and beamed across the sky from satellite to satellite, finally reaching it's destination in the farthest reaches of the planet. Ingested into a multitude of networks, the eager 'observer' scanned through all this information readily, before beaming it to other stations within facilities near and far, for further analysis.

The 'observer' sent the same message to all stations, asking for opinions on the matter: to destroy the source of the anomaly and contain what could possibly be a global threat, or to give further study on the matter for the sake of understanding what the "source" really was. He took delight in not only watching the battle go on from his perched "eye", but also taking into account the responses each person gave in regards to the query. Very interesting psychological data from such a simple, unassuming test.

Then, of course, after each person finished their own quick analysis from whatever location they were, and gave their "vote", the 'observer' laid down the real reason for asking in a following question:

A minute passed, then another, and no responses were submitted. 'A very amusing, although predictable, outcome: Hesitation... I am still enjoying these tests, but I mustn't forget the observations.'

The person was annoyed. He knew he couldn't take all of them, so he played a little game. He brought his palm up toward Saile, and fired a green beam, which then tunneled underground, seeming as if it melted the ground. In fact, it Did melt the ground. The beam started to curve toward Walt, but no one saw the beam turn. Not even the stranger knew that the beam was turning, he just looked over at Nadine, to see what she would do.

Walt saw the beam melt into the ground, and saw it was aiming for Salie. But Walt was too tired to do anything. He hoped Hubris's mirrors also protected Salie from underground. He was not aware that the beam was actually going to hit him, and probably wouldn't know until it was too late.

Hubris had no time to recover between knocking down Walt and when the beams impacted his mirrors. The first one struck and he did all he could to hold them up and together-- the strain of keeping them afloat and in formation causing him to sweat as if it were physical exertion. He put his arms up towards his mirrors, the remnants of the invisibility illusion blown away.

When the second beam struck the formation, Hubris lost his hold, and the entire formation went flying back into Hubris, the beams sending the them all flying back to crash into the wall a distance behind ((assuming they are inside, I still never got a straight answer. XD))

Hubris, and the mirrors pinned against him, remained trapped against the barrage of energy, until it eventually dispersed across the surrounding surfaces. The mirrors(and their owner) remained intact, Hubris's final struggle to claw for control forcing each to resist destruction. The mirrors, no longer pinned into the wall, dislodged, slowly levitating outward from where they had slammed against Hubris before gently drifting onto the ground. Finally, Hubris himself pushed from the crater the impact had formed, before falling forward and collapsing, unconscious.

"Hubris!" Walt yelled. He got up to run toward him, but then the beam came up from the ground. Walt felt himself falling, feeling lighter for some reason.
