Nadine landed lightly onto the roof of a building near the schoolhouse, straightening upright so that she was able to see everyone. She still couldn't quite make out the figure in front of the school, but she could see everyone else. The sound waves that came barreling out of the derelict building towards Flux alarmed her, and she automatically drew her dagger again.

Having realised that her position on the roof did nothing but help her see, she dropped down from the building, hitting the ground and sprinting towards the schoolhouse towards the figure, well aware that another bout of waves could emerge any second.

Walt, from his barrier, could see nothing that was happening. He heard screaming, but he couldn't identify the voices. There were too many. The only person he could see was Hubris, and he had just dropped to his knees. Great. Flux gave me control of my barrier, he recalled. Maybe, if there was some way I could bring down Hubris's shield, just long enough for me to get in, I could...wait, what could I do? I can handle physical injury just fine, but mental...That's a different ball-park entirely. Walt sighed. In any case, he couldn't just let Nadine and the others stay unprotected in the unknown. But he couldn't see them...The only way he would know where they were was to lower his shield...So, he did. And instantly regretted it as the area around him became some sort of nightmare. The kind of stuff he tends to see whenever he sleeps. He still couldn't quite tell yet where Flux, Nadine, and Salie, if he was really Salie at all, had gone, but he did see some sonic waves ripping up the area around a schoolhouse, a figure running quickly away from the waves, and another figure...running towards them? Who was stupid enough to do that? Well, besides himself, that is. Walt decided he had to help those figures and ran towards them. They could be friends or foes, it didn't matter to him at this point.

Upon spying Nadine's approach, two things happened. First, from within the schoolhouse, yet another blast came belting through the open doorway, aimed toward her.

Second, the enshrouded figure stirred. It shifted itself, and took a heavy step forward, brandishing weapons before it: so too, were these tools enshrouded in obscurity, that it was almost as if by design that the figure was unseeable; even still, it was clear that there was an object in each hand, a sword or club in the right and a the unmistakable outward spread of some form of shield.

A great, red eye opened upon the forehead of the obscured figure, and watched Nadine's every movement.
From within the schoolhouse, several more eyes gazed from various perches, each one slowly disappearing back into the darkness and out of sight.

The stream of sonic waves chasing after Flux suddenly split, now two smaller tunnels of sound. They relentlessly sped after Flux, slowly catching up to his running, flanking him on both sides and forcing him no other direction but forward.

Saile swooshed down to where Flux was running, while flying behind him he put his arms out in a forklift like positon and yelled.

Nadine kept running towards the figure, flapping her wings to gain some momentum before using a blast of fire from her hand to launch herself onto the air. She flailed her arms as she vaulted over the sound wave, hitting the ground with a thump and only sparing a moment to wince at the pain before getting up to run towards the red-eyed figure.

As she drew closer, she raised her dagger, gritting her teeth before raising the other hand to send several small fireballs in the direction of the figure and the many red eyes behind it.

"Sir, yes sir!" Flux replied. He launched himself into the air and opened his arms wide. As the waves relentlessly followed them, beads of sweat appeared on Flux's forehead.

The figure lifted it's shield and caught the fireballs, which harmlessly burst against the crystal.

Crystal.
The instance the fireballs struck the shield, whatever illusion or shroud covered it dispelled briefly, revealing the light blue crystal material that comprised the shield. The moment didn't last long, as this opaqueness spread back across the revealed patch like water filling in a shallow pool.

The figure did not budge from the doorway, lowering the shield and standing at the ready once again. It's movements were very stiff, robotic, almost forced...

A door then appears in the field and Saile flies into it with Flux.
Inside the door is a shrine with two swords sticking into the floor.
Saile and Flux go over and each pull out a sword. Saile's clothes turn green and so do Flux's.
they both walk out and saile cuts Flux's head off, revealing himself as Dark Saile, he Steals Flux's sword and runs out with two master swords.

The twin streams looped back around, circling beneath Saile and Flux with a shark-like behavior. It wasn't even like the immateriality of a sonic boom anymore, as dirt and mud was flung up from beneath these auditory torpedoes. The physicality of them started to change as they circled on the ground, a spinning that soon started to tear up wider ranges of the ground as well as blur the difference between the two separate projectiles.

The activity became too quick to see clearly, so all that there could be seen was a spiraling mass spewing dirt and mud away. The vortex began to move of it's own accord, once again chasing after the airborne Flux and Saile from below, a danger with which the threat of which had yet to reveal itself.

Squinting at the brief revelation of a crystal-like showls, Nadine slowed ever so slightly, but kept running. She was now less than 10 metres from the figure. Staggering to a stop, she stood panting with dagger in hand, wings flared outwards slightly.

Flux acknowledged the fact that they being chased by evil tornadoes. Hm. Very original.
"Hey, Saile! We have a minor - no, cross that! We have a MAJOR problem! Fly higher! Please." Flux shouted above the noise, not forgetting his manners. He was pretty helpless and wished he could do more. Only thing was, he did NOT have a magic ocarina.

As Walt ran towards Nadine (without knowing it was Nadine. She's still just a figure in the distance), he saw red eyes staring, sonic blasts...sonic blasting, the figure of Nadine raising her dagger to another figure, which had a glowing red eye on its forehead Walt could see even from a distance away, Nadine throwing fireballs at the other figure, which blocked them somehow, Walt had to crane his neck to see...
"Where are Adam and Eve?" That voice...Nadine...Walt tried to scan the area around him for the infamous duo, but failed as the sonic blast aimed at Nadine came straight for him, as he was catching up. Not like it was particularly hard to avoid, some wind magic and a simple levitation spell kept him above the blast, but still...he started scanning again from the air. He could see footprints, but no Adam or Eve...He quickly closed the distance between himself and Nadine's figure.
"I couldn't see them anywhere," he answered, looking at the figure before them. "But I'm willing to wager this thing is to wear us out while we search. Same with the sonic blasts that have been happening. If they can tire us out enough before we find them, then it isn't unreasonable to assume they could get away."

Nadine turned gratefully at the familiar voice before returning her attention to the figure, fearing another sonic wave. So I guess it would probably be best to leave this thing and look for Adam and Eve?

She bit her lip at the choices, squinting in an attempt to make out the appearance of the shrouded figure.

The enshrouded figure took a step forward, armor thudding heavily. The luminous red eye on it's forehead continued to gaze at her with an eerie intensity.

'This isn't... I can't... I-I can't let this happen, not like this. Everything I've done would be pointless this way... my honor... damn it all, girl! You were intent on fighting before, why don't you strike while you can now!? GAH! EVE!! WHY!?!? RAAAAAAAAGH!!!'

Without warning, the figure began trembling and stumbled. It fell, catching itself with the weapon for support, and started to struggle to regain it's footing. Muffled cries and grunts came from it, but for whatever it was worth, what it spoke was unintelligible. The figure tried to reach out toward Nadine with it's shield-arm, when the red eye snapped it's gaze away from the angel-girl, and downward, toward the outstretched arm.

Violent jerking and convulsions overcame the figure, and just as suddenly, it calmed. With little additional trouble, it righted itself again, and the red eye returned to look at Nadine, blinking a few times and shifting between her and Walt. It took another menacing step forward, and readied it's obscured weapon in hand.

"Yes, that seems to be the best option," Walt replied. But then the figure stepped forward and started screaming and grunting, but Walt couldn't understand any of it. Then it was suddenly between Nadine and Walt.
"Nadine, what if...? No, that can't be..." Walt began, staring at the eye. He looked at the weapon it raised.
"This...We have to get rid of this thing's armor...I believe then we'll know the truth. There has to be a weak point in it...find it. I'll hold it off," Walt said. Although he knew this wouldn't do much, in all likelihood, he made the roof they were on rise up underneath the figure, something that would stall the attack, to be sure.

Nadine's eyes widened as something also clicked in her head. She nodded determinedly, eyes still squinting in a vain attempt to study the figure. With an exasperated groan, she set fire to a wooden cart nearby in an attempt to cast more light on their subject. There was fire everywhere, yet they still couldn't see?

Tentatively, she took a step towards the armored figure.

The figure started did not flinch from Walt's trick, and began to pick up speed, going from a walk to a run. Each step was heavy, the loud clanking of armor drowning out the heavy sound of footfals. Suddenly, it gave an inhuman leap straight into the air. It spun its weapon above its head several times as it ascended, then was aimed straight down as gravity finally took hold.

The large figure came falling down at a frightening speed. As it fell, the edges of the figure became visible, as if the fall physically pulled back some of the veil concealing it.
Ever corner revealed was made of the same blue crystal, as was the weapon; the weapon, however, was not a rapier. A titanic lance, with a long handle and cone-shaped 'blade' that was almost as long as the figure was tall, was completely revealed through the descent.

It was aimed to land onto of Nadine, who was closest, and as it quickly descended, the great lance glowed intensely with a bright light.

"Oh, hell no," Walt said. He wouldn't let that guy kill Nadine. Quickly, he sent a gust of air at Nadine, one to knock her out of the way.
My magic might not affect him directly, not with all that crystal...but maybe I can... He made the roof under the figure collapse. Again, another stall as Walt tried to figure out what to do next.

As the attack was finally sprung, Nadine readied her hands before being suddenly blown to the side. With a frustrated cry, she used her hands to scrape along the roof to prevent herself from being blown too far, rising and backing away from the attack of her own accord.

Jeez, Walt! I can protect myself! she said irritably, her already tested temper worsened by the now scraped state of her hands.

Saile thought he heard a voice, in his head a long forgotten song and did just what it told him to do.

Saile avoided the attack, the tornado only cutting the edge of his left wing.

And he still just...couldn't keep himself from protecting her. "I guess it's just instinct. Um...I can heal your hands..." Moron! You have to conserve your energy, remember? You can't heal every scrape and cut!

No, I'm fine, Nadine said through gritted teeth. It was just as well that her hands were stinging - this way she couldn't use her old way of summoning fire. She'd have to try her new method.

An abrupt flash, and the building was suddenly engulfed in a pillar of light. It tore at the foundations, sending shudders throughout the building. The roof started to rise up under Nadine and Walt's feet, as bricks and mortar rose into the air before dissolving in the material so unlucky to be directly caught in the rising light, or not in the upwards shadow of the rising roof.

The light, in truth, originated from within the building. Much to the ire of the enshrouded figure, his form was not the only thing to be altered. He desperately wished to fight back, to let things end in the way of his choosing, but couldn't find the strength. Instead, his body betrayed him.

He remained kneeling from where he landed, the lance stuck deep into the floor and glowing with just as bright a light as the energy that it spawned, tearing the building apart from within.

A single pillar of light within the darkness of the nightmare.

(Quick synopsis: He fell through the roof, stabbed the floor and a destructive "pillar of light" came forth, which started to destroy the building.))

"Woo-hoo. We're flying," Walt said. "But not for long. This roof will be destroyed along with everything else cast in the light." He casually jumped off the roof, blasting himself a little further with magic to ensure he didn't touch the light. Then he glided to the ground below using his wind magic, waiting for the pillar of light to be gone. He stood in a battle stance, knowing full well that their opponent most likely had more tricks up their sleeve.

Nadine followed Walt off the roof cautiously, gliding to hid side whilst skirting the dangerous light. She looked up at the destruction of the building, her stomach sinking. This is what that thing can do?

Saile noticed that the attack had stopped it's assault and he decided to put Flux down on the ground.
He reached for his bag........

Then stopped, he knew it was but a portal to his castle.

Well shit. he said to himself quietly.

He then had a great idea, he called the echo he had created and told it to change to shadow.
The echo shook it's head.

It was then that Saile remembered his Echo's couldn't use any of his powers.

Tch, fine. Saile unfolded his wing and plucked a single feather, and morphed it into a small sword.

Flux I'm not sure if you can get any weapons but this should help.
He handed the weapon to Flux.

Afterwards he looked at the collective of shadow that suddenly turned into a pillar of light.

Flux weighed the blade in his hands. He whirled it around him. "This should be fine. Now let's find out what in the world is happening!"
He rushed towards the direction of Nadine and Walt, his blade at the ready. Once Flux arrived at the pillar of light, he was amazed. It was just like a dazzling vortex. Flux pulled out a sketch pad and began to reproduce the scene.

The observer was beginning to excite itself. This was something that rarely happened.

Once more, pain shot through Hubris's skull. This time his vision started to fade as the pain rose, peaking as a blast smashed into the barrier surrounding him. He didn't have control of it-- whoever still had control of it had wandered off, and it didn't have much life left in it. In fact, he could tell that this last attack had crippled his only defense; he couldn't feel his mirrors nearby, and his vision started to get distorted.

He could do nothing, his senses defeated, and felt hopelessly weak... and cowardly.

At the same moment a sonic blast came tearing through the streets toward the team of fighters, the mysterious figure came charging out of the light-borne destruction of the building, finally in the last stages of collapse.

The figure was no longer just a unseen figure, enshrouded by a mysterious force. The grand light attack had evaporated the dark shroud covering it, revealing the crystal armor that covered it head-to-toe, and the bright red eye that was attacked to the forehead of the helmet.

For the most part, the armor was opaque, just the cloudy blue crystal. Within the center of it, however, was the visible outline of a man, impossibly covered by it with no openings.

There was little time to gawk, as from behind was the sonic stream, and ahead was the charging knight, lance and shield held out at the ready.

((Yuck, this felt like a very poorly formed post. XD))

"Well, that's overkill," Walt said, looking quickly from the knight in front of them to the sonic blast behind them. "But not if I do this." He quickly condensed the blast, then leaped up, holding onto the now condensed version of the sonic blast, now looking like a sonic ball of some sort, with his magic, and then throwing it straight at the charging knight, figuring this accomplished two things at once: it put him directly between his friends and the knight so the chances of them being in any danger were less, and it would probably trip the knight up, if nothing else. The crystal armor would protect against damage, that he knew, but what about impact? There would certainly be plenty of that. Just in case, he prepared his next move: somehow avoiding this next attack without letting the knight past him.

((This was constructed even worse. Nah, nah! :P))

Only having moments to think, Nadine sprinted quickly after Walt, running through her new strategies in her mind. Crystal wouldn't burn or melt very quickly, but that huge red eye...surely that was a weakness? She slowed slightly as Walt hurled the sonic attack at the knight before picking up speed again, a snarl on her face.

Flux looked up from the sketchpad. He realised something had happened. Oh, well done Sherlock! Flux picked himself up before charging at the creature's eye with Saile's feather-sword. He launched himself into the air and slashed at it, hoping his blow would land. 'Cos if it doesn't, I'm toast. Yum. Toast. Buttered toast sounds good right now...

Saile too decided to attack the crystal knight.

But how to go about attacking him? He thought to himself, He's never felt more useless.

Not yet! Saile changed his left arm into a spear and stabbed it into the ground, snapping the spear.

He rushed at the knight with his sword in his right hand....

The crystal knight didn't slow down as the four attackers came at him. Mockingly, the red eye rolled around in it's socket, then quickly glanced at each of the fighters in a pattern.

It first turned to Flux...
The knight quickly brought his shield up and took the blow of Flux's sword. The shield was tiled straight on, so the sword would hit it squarely, letting it neither bounce back nor slide away.
It held the shield so that when the sword hit, it would stay against it, which would be long enough of a distraction to deal with the second attacker...

Then to Walt...
The knight quickly repositioned itself to take Walt's attack with the shield. Flux was still nearby, so when the 'sonic ball' detonated against the shield, both figures took the brunt of the release.
The knight, however, was doubly protected, and immune to the noise-factor; the impact forced him to skid backwards a few feet.
It recovered-- too quickly for a normal man, without even a stagger or hint of dizziness --and turned to face the final few targets ahead.

And finally Saile and Nadine...
Once more, the lance glowed brightly, charging for another attack. The figure broke out into a run, and held the weapon out and it's shield up, ready to collide with the oncoming Saile...

((Anybody noticed the full meaning to the behind-the-scenes crap besides the thematic use of color?
