As they arrive in Verdia, a messenger runs towards them.

"Good sirs! You have arrived!" He saluted. "We were able to hold off the monster invasion, but it looks like they'll be back tomorrow. ... Are you alright, sir!?" He looked at Xero's wound.

"I... I'll be fine," said Xero.

"No you won't, not without some medical attention! I'm going to get help!" The boy ran into the castle.

(That's a new person's cue.)

A few miles ahead the party, a single priestess hiked alone in the wilderness, leaning heavily on her healing staff. Every few minutes she would absentmindedly reach down to her side to touch a small snake-headed cane tucked into her waistcloth like a sheath as if making sure it was still there. The foolish priestess had no idea of the turmoil erupting about her but simply pressed on through the grasslands, making sure to examine each and every protruding boulder as if searching for something.

"The cairn should be in this quadrant of the plains according to the manuscripts..." she muttered to herself. "Perhaps I should return to the road and reorient myself." She sighed and trudged towards the setting sun and the long road which snaked to the west.

Chelsea sat in the throne room, unhurt from the invasion, but bored.
Suddenly, the doors burst open and a boy ran to the throne, kneeling before her.
"Princess, the knights from Arsenia have arrived, but one is rather badly hurt..."
Chelsea nodded and stood up.
"Bring them in. Make sure they get medical attention. After a time, I shall speak with them, Andrew."
The boy, Andrew, nodded and jogged back out of the castle. Chelsea sat back on her throne.
"Ugh...it was so fun today, defending the kingdom, but I cannot pretend that we won't hold out for long..."

The boy Andrew ran out and accompanied the two knights inside, and directed Xero to the medical chambers. He motioned for Thomas to follow, and informed the both of them that someone would like to speak with them soon.

Thomas sighed as he followed the two to the medic chambers. He felt frustrated in the fact he let his closest comrade get hurt.

"So what all happened here anyway? Were sorry for taking so long as well" Thomas asked. "Do you have any idea why this happening by the way?"

"We think it's Larcenia," said the boy, but then Xero cut him off.

"It is Larcenia."

"What!?"

Xero shook his head. "We were attacked by two Larcenian guards on our way over here. We know it's them, but we don't know why."

"I'll be right back!" The boy ran out and then back to the throne. "It was Larcenia after all! These two fought Larcenian guards on their trek up here!"

An old lady dressed in a royal dress stepped out from behind the curtain and stood on Chelsea's left side.

Thomas handed Jake his last vulenary in secret. "Hope this helps ya. Again sorry for ditching ya..." He whispered.
He knelt down to greet the royals he listened with great intensity. He HAD to know for sure what was going on and why.

Thomas pondered about this. Should they go to Fort Cascodia or stay to defend the capital. This might be a war that will be lasting a long while if it doesn't end soon.

Jake then answerd, "If you must milady." Jake than followed Thomas to get some more attention for his wound and was in search for a new sword after losing one and his current one's hilt was rusting. "Grrr, Why'd you guys leave me." He made sure no one heard that.

Jake was startled that thomas had heard. "I cannot tell you where i was." Jake said it in a Im hiding something voice. "Hmmm, I need 1 or maybe two new swords, I have an deep cut below my knee." "DO I LOOK LIKE IM FINE!!" Jake seamed to be really angry at something, someone or maybe just for no apparent reason.

Xero sat, having listened to the two try to bicker with the Princess, and he chuckled. "Once a girl makes up their mind, there's no stopping them. Besides, it's our duty to protect her as well, and it'll be easier to do that when she's with us, not trapped in the castle." The medic came and began to heal his wound. It wouldn't be long now.
