She palmed the cuffs and chose the brick she had pulled out.
But she didn't have telepathy; just good old, lousy empathy.
The room didn't have any tables or chairs or even a bed for her to use so she knew she'd have to get a little creative. With all the emphasis D.I.G. put in 'creativity' they had to be the most imaginative bastards in the Legion...
She slowly approached Dies. The cuffs she kept loosely in her pocket, leaving one hand free and the other not bothering to hide the brick.
"Last chance," Carmen said. "If you think you have anything that can save your hide, now would be a good time to start before I make you start screaming."

Why are you going there, you idiot? Are you insane? If you get caught, you'll be killed, if not tortured. And you're just going there on a whim. What if there's really nothing there? Alas, it was her brain vs. her instincts and intuition, and the instincts prevailed. She dashed up the building with lightning quick speed, but lightly. Anyone who heard her footsteps would assume it was just the pitter-patter of rain as she ran up the building and onto the roof.

"D.I.G.'s a difficult division to work in," Killey had told her, after he had informed her of her transfer. "We may joke about them being office workers but its very brutal work, to put it lightly."
She kept her approach slow and deliberate. She dismissed the slight trembling in her hand as a consequnce of the weight of the thick brick.
"In S.A.R.D we may kill but in this line of work its a matter of survival. In D.I.G. killing is not just frowned upon, its punishable. Here, this is a chart I managed to get ahold of from a friend there. It labels all the spots that won't kill and what their limits are. Memorize them. Where your going you'll be expected to think of ways to drag it out for days.
Suddenly, when she was close enough, in mid stride she tossed the brick across her body from one hand to the other in a feint. The moment her hand let go of the brick it whipped forward and snatched onto Dies' wrist with a vice-like grip and yanked him downward and placed the hand flat onto the ground.
"And whatever happens, pray you don't end up working on someone you know. If you're extremely fortunate it'd be someone you hate but....well, what are the chances of that?"
Her hand was still trembling when, in a blur, she brought it down at Dies' exposed hand.

Carmen's ears began to peel as she heard the psychic's cries.
No different than anything else you do, she snapped at herself. A few dozen souls broken too late to begin thinking sob thoughts while working.
When she felt him begin to try pulling away she finally stopped on that hand. He probably wouldn't be able to do anything with the mangled hand but she replaced the weight of the brick with her kneling knee, to keep it pinned, and finally let go of that hand to grab the other wrist and force it flat like its twin.
Then she began the process all over on the other one.
"Still-have-nothing-to say?" She said with an edge, speaking each part in time with a strike.

For the first time since she began, she looked him straight.
"You're starting to lose it under the pain," she said quietly, not confirming or declining his question. "Or blood loss."
He didn't seem to be taking the brick induced pain the same way he had before, so she decided to be 'creative'. She dropped the brick off to the side and pulled the gun from her holster and placed the muzzle against the hand's flat.
"What I would 'like' doesn't really matter here anyway."
And she fired.

Carmen glanced briefly at the SW1199. Ten shots left. She'd save them for last. At least after her next trick.
The gun was pushed over to the same place as the bloodied brick. Carmen walked around to Dies' back and pulled the hand she had been working on with her. She pulled the cuffs from her pocket and locked one hoop around the wrist closely before reaching for the second arm.
The cuffs were serrated around the inside. The teeth were long and sharp enough to leave nasty gashes when pulled against but not enough that the person held could slit their wrists.

So. My computer broke down completely. Thank God I could do a backup, but well, I've been un-PC'd and un-Internet'd since the Thursday before this last one (June 25th), which means un-CR'd.
I have luckily gotten access in my grandparents' laggy-Windows 98 PC, and am able to post at incredibly low speeds, without even mentioning the random resets this computer suffers. But it's fine.
Well, I'll be here until Wednesday, when I'll be back at my house, with my lovely PC back! And even better, thanks to swine flu (it's going on terribly here, around 100.000 infected and 500 dead), school's out! Yup, from July 2nd to... August 10th. Yup, more than a month. So I won't be as busy as I was! Yyyaaaaaaayyyy.
So, tell me whatever you need Steel to do, and I'll be here.

Exo heard a horrible scream, and Aria shout, "DIES!" See? Dies was captured. Yeah. And you thought you had no reason to be here! Aria was flying down the stair case, and Exo ran at full speed behind her. She heard the "Ding" of an elevator, and knew there was a way to get down there without tiring herself out. She found it unusual that no one was around the closing elevator doors, but she didn't act on it. She stuck the tip of her katana into the door and forced it open. Exo was sure Dies would be in the dungeons. She jumped, the door closing behind her. What now, idiot? Do you really think no one saw you? Do you really think nobody would notice the thud from you landing on top of the elevator?

She stood again and went to her bag of tools. After a quick moment of inspection she picked up two bottles, the candle, and a lighter, then returned to Dies. She pushed him onto his back and uncapped the first bottle before splattering drops of vegetable oil on his shirt in the general areas of the shoulder joints.
