It was all so sudden, Mimi had no idea how to react. However, she felt that maybe... just maybe... everything really would be all right. After all, she wasn't the only one struggling with the loss of their entry fee. Max had to have something that he was fighting for as well.

Gently, she pushed herself out of the embrace. "Thanks... I needed that."

And with that, the Day ended. However, it gave Mimi enough confidence to tackle this Game with everything she's got.

She smacked her face with both hands. "Alright Mimi, we're going to make it through this week and get your voice back. Then you're gonna confess to Na-kun, meet up with the band, and set up our first gig. And give Max a free ticket, of course."

She looked around, hoping no one heard that. She let out a sigh of relief when no one was looking her way.

Taking a deep breath, she decided to do one more thing before she went to look for Max. Singing a verse from a song, the notes carried a tone of regret and sadness as Mimi sang with a passion that only she could understand:

♫ "Dreaming when you look my way, hatred when you play the game... tender when you want to be near, forceful when i hide my tears.... secretive about the truth, no one knows a thing about you... confusion when you look in my eyes, no one knows the reasons why...." ♪*

She pressed the OK button on her phone to stop the recording. "Ha! Take that! Even with your voice I still sound better than you!"

As he flicked through the first few, he saw all the Players he knew a long time ago, back when he was a Player. Argus, him, his partner and Justine, his first Game. Two inseparable Players that were fun and brilliant to be around. Argus was just a punk boy then with Justine being the scared damsel in distress types. But they did hit it off rather well during the latter stages of the Game. He smiled at the various arguments they had and the growing relationship both of them had. At the final stage, it was revealed that only two were able to be free as it was. And that was him and Argus. Max remembered the tears Justine had when he told the Composer to send both Justine back instead of himself. Those words of thanks from both of them were enough to get him through. His partner decided to die at the end of it all as he said that death is nothing now. Max looked downcast as he remembered the final words his partner said as he gave Max his pins just before he vanished.

"Live. You'll be my living legacy. My pride and dreams...I'm giving them all to you." With that, he vanished. Max felt a pang of regret as he remembered those words. Now, he was living in a nightmare, trying to keep the same words from disappearing from his own lips.

With that said, he looked at the Composer and agreed to play the Game again with the price of freedom being his entry fee. That is to say, he was not allowed to come out of it. Flicking through more photos, he found himself frowning with two teenage girls with a more mature woman looking on with a smile on her face as the two girls tried to get Max to smile. Judith, Elena and as well as Kotohana. Both girls were being overwhelmed trying to protect Kotohana who was without a partner. He managed to pact with Kotohana and fended off the Noise. However, both Judith and Elena was wiped out by a surprise Noise which came out of nowhere. Max remembered that time when he fell to the ground, crying at how he failed to protect them. Kotohana came up and told him that it was alright as they'll be with him in his heart. She also told him as long as he had his memories of them, then they'll be connected.

Eventually they made it to the last stage with Kotohana allowed to go back to see her daughter which was her entry fee. However, the Composer told Max that his freedom was forfeit so that automatically meant another Game to play. Max shrugged indifferently as he played his third Game.

Flicking through more photos, he stopped when he came to a photo to two guys beaming at him with a shy girl attached to his arm. Abes, Alexi and Miria. Abes and Alexi were twin brothers and were an instant hit with their sense of humour through almost anything. But it was Miria that got his attention. She was a year younger than he was and had been through hell and back with her life. She told him that she committed suicide and that she ended up here. After playing through the Game, she changed her perspective in wanting to die to wanting to live. In the last day, Miria told Max that she liked him and hoped to go out with him once the Game was over. Max smiled at that thought as he agreed to that. But that was cut short when he was forced to fight her when the Game Master took control of her. Fighting the very person he wanted to save, Max was totally torn in that issue before Miria managed to break free for a second, telling him that it was alright as she was free now. With that, Max ended her life in order to get through it all. But it was a hollow end as Max recounted those dark days. The Composer told him that his price of freedom was now up and it was up to Max whether or not he wanted to go back.

'I didn't want to go back, not just yet. I failed again. So this is what is meant by the price of freedom.' With that, Max wished that Miria go back to her world with her memories of him erased, only what had happened would be kept intact. The Composer looked at him before telling him that he'll be erased of that's the case. Max shrugged saying that it was worth it though as she has another chance in life to look forward to. 'Those wings...I want them too.'

It was then he fell asleep only to awake up at the Scramble again. This time, he was approached by a gothic looking person who introduced him as Zaizen. He told Max that he was reborn as a Reaper. Originally, he was horrified at that. 'Why? WHY? WHY???????' was all that was going in his mind. 'I can't do this as I want to help people survive this.' With that, Zaizen told him something he didn't expect. "Seriously, you don't need to erase Players. Go to Cat Street and find Mr Hanekoma." With that, Max did as he was told.

Mr Hanekoma was an interesting man but a man with dreams and honour. After telling him what he had been through, Mr Hanekoma looked at him seriously before telling him that it was an impossible dream to be in Max's situation. But after that, Mr Hanekoma smiled at him and told him that there is another way to doing this. The way was to help Players through it all. And so, that was all Max did. Seeing various Players play the Game to various ends, he had seen the best and worst of them. It was only the last Game that he was totally horrified at it all when Inficio Vita ended up as the winner when he erased all the other Players. When the Composer granted Inficio's request, Max went to the Composer and demanded answers. Zaizen tried to talk him out of it but Max insisted. The Composer smiled at him before asking him would it be enough that he stop him. Max agreed with Zaizen looking on. The Composer nodded and granted him a special case to join. With that, there was a bright light before everything went white.
