The Officer in charge wiped his brow. "Can we extract it?" he asked nervously.
One doctor looked down dejectedly. "We... We can't cut it off! It won't budge, rip, or anything!" he muttered, and the Officer cursed.
He moved over to the intercom connected to the offices of the building and pressed #7, Steel's office. "Sir, the growth cannot be cut. We're still trying, but... I don't know what to do."

"Where do you think you're going?" Camille asked as soon as the group was outside.
"Let's see who we have here: Dies. Yes, you were once a friend of mine. Too bad you had to be a traitor. I always liked you. And your sister, who cannot fight at all right now. She would be an easy target.
"And Carmen, old partner. We used to balance each other out so well. You were once my inspiration...The one person who could help me master my emotions. You'd really choose him over me? Tsk. And Exo...For some reason, the boss takes a special interest in you. So you shall go down." She looked at everyone. "Not really a fair fight, is it?" Her eye lingered on Carmen for a fraction of a second before she cast lightning at her. Exo pushed Carmen out of the way, and the full force of the lightning hit her instead. She fell and twitched, the electricity still coursing through her.
"Ugh..." she said as she forced herself to get up. "It will...Take more than that...To beat me..."
"I'm sure it will. Ta," Camille responded. Suddenly, Exo felt herself moving away as the land under her slid. Then, Camille made an earth dome around herself, Aria, and Dies.
"Now none of you can save her." She smiled.

Also, technically, nobody in the Legions knows Aria is Dies' sister, I guess.))
Dies thought they were already safe. He had thought it would be too easy, and his theory was confirmed when he heard an evil-sounding female voice.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Dies stopped, suddenly holding Aria, who he had picked up, tighter. He flinched at the sight of their opponnent, knowing her powers.
"Camille, not you", he said, angrily. "Don't tell me you'll keep siding with that damn mercenary!"
He then saw how Camille attacked Carmen, and Exo took the strike, then being isolated from the rest.
"No, Camille!", he barked. "She's with me! We need to take her and Aria to medical attention!"
He was panicking, not knowing how to keep Aria, Exo and Carmen safe at the same time.

((LONG LONG post for Steel, warning))
Steel had fallen asleep in his chambers, when his intercom sounded. He was startled awake, and answered.
"Huh, what's going on?", he said, still half asleep.
"Sir, the growth cannot be cut.", the Officer responded. "We're still trying, but... I don't know what to do."
Steel sat down, and rubbed his eyes.
"I see..." I was expecting this..., he thought.
"I'll meet you there in a minute." He then hang up, and head to the surgery room.
Once there, he entered the room, and spoke to the Medical Officer.
"What's happening?", he asked.
"We just can't extract it", the M.O. answered. "We think we've got a brain zone localized, but-"
"Wait...", Steel stopped him. "A brain zone? For his demonic behaviour?"
"Yes, sir. A brain zone... I've researched a bit", he said, and handed Steel some papers. "And some experts believe it's the brain zone responsible for concience."
Steel read a bit through the papers. He thought.
"This could risk his life...", he said, somehow worried. "But he himself is a risk for all of our lives: Can you find a way to paralize that zone? Not permanently... At least, not at first."
The Medical Officer took the papers back, and read a bit. "I believe, yes... With some sedatives and due contemption, we could. We'll try, sir."
"Good", Steel answered. "Do that. I... I'll wait outside, if you need me."
"Yes, sir."
The M.O. then turned around, and ordered his team to prep everything for the process.
Steel, outside, was worried. "Man", he said, out loud. "I hope this helps..."
Suddenly, a voice came from the corridor. "Mr. Steel! Mr. Steel!"
Steel turned around, and noticed someone from Technical Defense staff, running towards him.
"Y-Yes", Steel stopped her. "I'm here. What is it?"
"Thank God I found you", she said, panting. "We need you to know that we've localized Elite Soliders Ophelia and Aria, with three Legioners, one holding Aria, one next to this one, and one confronting them all."
"What!?", he let out. Dies? "How!? Where!?"
"We used aerial cameras, since we were suggested we should search for them. They are just outside the Legions Head Quarters, sir."
"Dammit... They went for Dies." He then realized the woman didn't know Dies. Wait...
"What about Exo?", he said. "Elite Soldier Exo?"
"No, sir, we have no data of her."
Damn! What did Dies do now!?
"Thank you for letting me know. Follow this matter, please."
The woman nodded, and left.
Steel took a transciever from his pocket, and spoke to it, pressing a button.
"BlackJack, you copy me?"
"Ugh, what is it, Steel? Is it regarding that prisoner?"
"Partially. I need you to come here and watch over him."
"Me? Wh-?"
"I have to help Aria and Exo, and I need someone I can trust to stay here."
BlackJack buffed from the other side.
"OK, but you owe me one." He then cut the communication.
Steel put the transciever back in his pocket, and left, the building, running.
Hang on, Exo... I'm almost there...

Exo ran to the dome, trying to break through with her katana.
It's not working... she thought desperately. Then, she saw a streak in the sky heading towards a figure in the distance. I have to help. I'll be back. I promise. She ran towards Steel.

I'll just stop whenever you want me to because there is no way I'm smart enough to tell that you guys will just turn against me as soon as I let you go," Camille responded, drowning in sarcasm. "Seriously, Dies, how stupid do you think I am? Oh, by the way, you're ticking me off. Guess what that means." She smiled playfully and surrounded Dies, Carmen, and Aria in a ring of fire. "The dome will make it impossible for you guys to breathe pretty soon. And if you get out of this, I'll have another fun challenge for you." She disappeared.

Steel had left the Resistance HQ, with hopes of helping Aria and Exo. He had taken his usual gun, and this time he had taken a large metal sword. He knew he would have to fight... a lot.
Suddenly, he saw a dark moving cloud shooting off towards him. He ran faster, and focused his minds in his sword, in case he needed it.
Then, he saw someone running towards him. He stopped.
"Exo!", Steel almost shouted, euphoric. "You're- You're alright!"
---Dies---
"No, Camille, please!", Dies screamed. "Exo and Aria need-"
Soon, they were sorrounded by a circle of flames. Damnit!, he thought, desperate. "Carmen, hang in there. We'll find a way around this."
Please, Aria... Wake up... We need you...
---BlackJack---
BlackJack had taken some of his gear, just in case, and left for the surgery room. When he arrived, he saw a medic outside the room, making annotations in a notebook.
"Excuse me", BlackJack told him. "I am Elite Soldier BlackJack. I'm here to..." He sighed. "Replace Mr. Steel in his duty of watching over the prisoner." He said it in a way that gave away his feelings about his current duty.
"Tell me if I need to be briefed, or something", he finished. If I'll waste my time here, I better do it right.

"Yes, I'm fine, Steel. Look out!" Exo shouted. She didn't want Steel to have chased them there. Now he was in danger...But she had to admit that he was in considerably less danger than she was in. She was practically right under the cloud at this point.

"The fire's eating up all the oxygen," she panted weakly. Her normally blue eyes were now twinged with red as they began water. "Damn you, Camille..."
Fire was anger related to Camille, if Carmen remembered right. Carmen could feel her own anger rising every second the flames' intensity increased.
The empath desperately whipped out her gun and pointed it at the ceiling. If she could just punch a hole or something to give them more breathing room...
Three shots went off. Bits of rock came crumbled down on them but the wall remained whole.
"Break, damn it!" She snarled.

Steel was happy Exo was safe, but he had to worry about his own safety now.
He quickly took the sword he had in it's case, in his back:
"Step out!", he told Exo. Once she did so, he jumped, slashing the cloud with the sword, hoping it would do something.

"I- ...I can't!", Dies yelled. He was starting to have problems with breathing. He then noticed Aria's poisoned dagger coming out of her pocket. He had an idea, but was dubious if he wanted to follow it.
He then entered Carmen's mind, and spoke to her:
Is there a way you can convince her into making this flames disappearing?
He then continued with his plan.
"...Please, don't make me do this, Camille!"

The M.O. gave the order and the doctors began the process. They took care in injecting the exact right center of the brain, then pumping the correct amount of sedative.
One doctor sat by the heart monitor and watched the screen lazily. Everything was normal, and he didn't care anyway. The guy was murdering everyone he saw and destroying blocks of cities. What did he care if the bastard survived? In fact...
The doctor looked around quickly. Everyone was focused on the patient. The doctor snuck over to the wall and took one more look around. He pullled the wall plug.
Suddenly, the monitor gave out a high pitched whine. The high amount of sedatives and lack of life support was forcing his heart and lungs to stop working. Anthony choked, his mind racing.
The M.O. gasped and glanced at the monitor. "Dear God!" he said in shock, running over to the doctor by the plug and grabbing him by the shirt.
"You idiot! Do you realize what you've done?!" the M.O. roared. The doctor scoffed. "What does it matter? Why do you want this douche to live?"
The Officer threw the doctor back. "He is a medical marvel! He could pave the way for scientific advances for years to come!" The doctor laughed and pointed at the monitor. "Not anymore, he's not."
The line went straight. Zeros filled the screen.
The Officer picked up the walkie-talkie and announced the time of death glumly before turning on the little transmitter.
"The guy's dead, sir."

Carmen stiffened when she felt the intrusion into her mind. Her shield must've been lapsing or it was a testament of Dies' abilities but that observation was far from her immediate mind. Not likely, but I'll try.
Carmen swallowed a breath and forced calmness into her voice, forging it into a sharp blade when she spoke. The same voice she used whenever she dealt with a subordinate.
"Whatever happened to a fair fight, Camille?" She said frostily, or as much as she could in the circumstances. "You know, I thought I taught you how to fight with those emotions, not act like some twelve year old school yard taunter."

"That comment does nothing to help your cause. Or did you not know which emotion triggers this?" she asked, the flames gaining intensity. "Fair fight? It's two-on-one, and you have the most powerful psychic in the world at your side. Three-on-one, if the girl in Dies's arms ever wakes up. So I assumed that evens the odds a little."

BlackJack was distractedly sitting in a chair he had gotten, outside the surgery room. His calm was interrupted by a loud beeping sound, coming from inside.
Does that mean...?, he thought.
He quickly stood up, opened the door, and entered the room. He saw the heart meter. It was expressing a single sound, it showed a single line, flat.
"You...", BlackJack muttered. "You killed him!? You weren't supposed to do that, you morons!"
He put his hands in his forehead, almost covering his eyes. "You were supposed to extract that... stuff from him, not kill him!"
Althought... They did the world a huge favor... But I can't help but wondering it was a wrong call...
---Dies---
"Thanks. That would be very useful.", Dies told Carmen, via printing those words in her mind.
He held Aria's poisonous dagger. "Should it come to that...", he said lightly, to himself.

I can feel your emotions right now, it's so focused, definitely not like when you started out. Remember that? You had the power but without the control you were just a walking puppet of destruction."

"I...remember that..." Camille replied. "You...Were my best friend..." Her face contorted as the fires began to die down. "But you betrayed me, our leader, and everyone else...When you decided to join them!" The fire became more intense for the slightest instant before dying. Then, the dome began to flood as Camille gained control of water.

The Darkness's voice was cancelled out by the terrifying sounds all around him. He couldn't listen to what the Darkness was saying; he could only see what was in front of him. The most horrifying sight he had ever and would ever see.
To say Hell was hot was an immense understatement. Anthony felt like he was melting. His skin prickled in searing pain and every now and then hellish creatures would latch onto him and bite forcefully.
"WHY?!" He shouted as loud as he could. "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!" He cried out in agony, only to be met with a sickening voice.
"Silence."
Anthony looked up at a terrifying silhouette. Satan looked down at him and laughed. "Ah, hello, Anthony," he said in his oily tone. "I was expecting you soon. Tell me, how did you die? Suicide? Killing spree?"
The Darkness spoke up. "No, Lucifer, murder."
Satan laughed louder. "Hahaha! Well, I suppose now that you're here, you won't be needing this."
Suddenly the demon reached down and ripped Anthony's soul from his body. It seared, hurt more than anything Anthony had ever felt before. However, he felt oddly detached. Lucifer cackled in glee, but the Darkness spoke up.
"Well, now, Satan, I'm afraid we must be going," it growled. Lucifer looked confused for a moment before Anthony's soulless body sprinted away, heading for the abyss.
Run, Anthony! Run! he heard, as Satan leaped into chase.
Anthony reached the deep abyss and looked around. "How do I escape?" He asked.
A tentacle shot out and ripped a hole in the vortex, revealing Earth. Anthony dashed for it and jumped through the hole, emerging in a deserted wasteland. The tentacle let the hole go before Satan could reach it, and Anthony stood and brushed himself off.
"Well, time to move on," he muttered, and started into the distance.
You're welcome, The Darkness hissed.

The water was at her thighs now. She needed to work, fast. Fire was anger, water was sadness, if she could move Camille to a less dangerous emotion then maybe...
"You were just a walking puppet that the Legion had coincidentally on their side," Carmen said coolly. "They didn't care if you had control or not, just as long as you were pointed in the correct direction. They didn't care about you having the right to control yourself until you torched your own office. They put off that long to teach you control that it must have felt you had won the lottery when they deigned to give it to you."
The next part was a gamble and Carmen felt a stab of guilt at doing this but her survival instincts won. Carmen knew there was one thing that would scare her more than anything and that would be having to live through the hell of emotions again after Killey had saved her. If Camille were like her...
"You've seen me work. You've felt me work on you. I don't just read emotions, I control them. I helped give you control and I can just as easily tear it apart."

"You can't take this away!" she shouted. Fear, anger, sadness...They all welled up inside her at once. Fire ignited on top of the water as the mixture of emotion was taking effect. Her fear was not the strongest of her emotions yet.

"You see, Camille...", Dies told the girl, still forcing an evil smile. "You stand no chance... Now let us go before..."
Then Carmen spoke. It came as a surprise to Dies, but he had to make it look like if those word came from him, and not Carmen. So he kept smiling, and glancing at both Carmen and Camille.
Aria, we are almost there... Just wait a little longer.

"Why not?" Carmen asked. The empath knew she probably couldn't, not from there, not without physical contact, but Camille didn't know that. "I am a master of emotions. I've worked inside your head long enough to understand things work, which neurons to inhibit, which ones to release, everything. And," she nodded her head with false reverence to Dies, "the word's most powerful psychic is here. I don't think you've seen two psychics work a skill together but the results are limitless. What do you think I could do to your precious control with a little bit of tweaking from an outside source?"
Carmen finished with a pitying smile. D.I.G. were the most creative people in the Legion, she was sure Camille could paint a scarier picture for herself than Carmen ever could.

Camille shivered, the cold feeling in the pit of her stomach being mirrored by the water, which stopped rising, but got colder until it froze. The fire died away.
"You...Cannot..." Camille swallowed. She looked extremely pale.
What? Are you going to give up now? This is no longer a game of showing off your powers. This is a mind game. She's trying to play tricks to make you feel whatever she wants. Are you going to let her control you like that? Again? She was outraged at these thoughts, and she grabbed the dome, which exploded at her touch.

Exo heard the explosion and turned around. Pieces of the dome were flying everywhere. And she couldn't tell if Dies, Aria, or Carmen survived. She was about to head back when Xavier and Shadow materialized right in front of her. She couldn't leave Steel alone to deal with two supers.
"What have we here?"
"An extremely ticked off super," Exo snapped, pulling out her sword and running so fast toward Xavier, she seemed to disappear.

Xavier Laughed as Exo ran to him. She had obviously forgotten his power; The power of illusion. The ability to make people see, hear, smell, taste, even touch what he wants them to. He glanced at Shadow and made a small swiping motion with his hand.
Shadow was confused. Why did Xavier want a wall at a time like this? Still, he complied, creating an impenetratable wall of shadows.
Xavier illusioned the wall, and Steel and Exo didn't seem to have noticed it. He waited until Exo was about a meter away, then made her feel a wall.
((The wall isn't really there. Exo will feel the pain of impact, but it'll disapear soon. The wall won't stop her.))

After the dome exploded, and before he could react to it, Dies was startled when Aria suddenly shook, and jumped out of his arms.
"Aria!!", he excclaimed, hugging her tightly. "You're awake! Jesus, I'm glad you're alright!"
He then let go of her, and, noticing Camille was still there, he stood in front of Aria, protecting her.
"Will you let us go now, Camille?", he said, recalling Carmen's acting. "Now that you know that you stand no chance?"
He realized he had mixed emotions there, and that Camille would have been confused if Aria said anything, so he entered Aria's mind, to tell her "I'll explain later."
---Steel---
Steel struck down with his sword, when the little cloud disappeared, and Xavier and Shadow materialized in front of them.
"Ack!", he let go, readying his sword again. "You two!"
Then Exo ran to Xavier, and, suddenly, she stopped a bit, abruptly, as if she had crashed with something, and then continued. "...Exo, what was that?", Steel asked, confused, still holding his sword tightly.
Then, seeing Exo had started fighting Xavier, he started running towards Shadow.
"I don't think this time will be the same than last time", Steel told Shadow. "In the way that, this time, I won't be the one who ends up in the hospital!" Then, he attacked, slashing, aiming for Shadow's center.

Exo winced, reacting to the pain of impact. She stopped a second, then ran past it, still feeling the pain. Only to crash into another wall. This time unable to run past it.
"Oof," Exo as she crashed. I wonder how far it goes...But now that I know it's here... She ran as fast as she could up the wall, leaping towards Xavier once she got to the top.
((This has been edited. Er...Hope I didn't mess up too terribly this time around.))

"I may be outnumbered, but you are clearly outmatched," Camille responded. She got over her emotions quickly and was in control of herself again. Sometimes her powers helped her vent. That was one of those times. She smiled evilly as the ground underneath Aria, Dies, and Carmen became quicksand.

Dies suddenly felt his now-existant legs sinking in the ground. He looked down. Quicksand. He cursed, and forced his legs out of the sand, but without success; in fact, they sank quicker.
"Damn...", he said, slowly. "This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have my legs..."
He kept calm, so the quicksand made him sink slowly. "Aria, quick: Can you do something about this?"
