As soon as they walked out, they were immideatly met with a problem.

The blizard.

It was blowing snow very hard. the howling of the wind ringing in their ears. The freezing air touching their faces.

"Unnh.....!" exclaimed Axel as the wind and snow buffeted his face. he looked at the scene before them. After a few seconds of thinking, he turned to look at his friends.

"Are you sure you guys want to some? I could go alone."

Axel noticed Zex and Somari taking a head start. Fighting the bellowing winds and freezing temperature, he ran past them, then stood in front of them.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, HEY! Remember, we're going to my uncle's forge, so naturally, I'll go first," he said. "After all only I know the route there."

He then turned around and started walking.

"Now come on, before your butts freeze over."

And with that, Axel lifted the unconsious Zex and started running.

"Are you talking about your boyfriend?" he asked, oviously talking about Zex.

"Umm, OK then...." Axel responded, not sure what Skylar meant.

He kept walking, carrying Zex on his back. The weight of his friend's unconcious body, the freezing gales, and the bellowing winds made movement quite difficult. Despite that, he kept, moving. They were now three blocks away from his uncle's forge.

As he walked, Axel noticed a little movement within the snow ahead of them.

"Hey...." he called out to his friends. "Did you guys see that? In the snow? Something..... something moved......"

Just then, six beings made entirely out of ice popped out from the snow. They made a horible sounding shreik.

"Gah, what the hell?!" exclaimed Axel as he took out his sword and asumed a battle stance.

"Wow, ice-y things. Not like we can't take 'em down, right, Wolfy-o?" Skylar lay a hand on Dragon-Wolf's back. The wolf wasn't entirely sure why Skylar just called him 'Wolfy-o' but he shrugged it off as a random human thing. Like 'yo', which he couldn't understand anymore. He had once understood it, when he was a human, but now 'yo' made no sense.

Somari saw these beings, and officially decided three things:

1. This adventure was getting severely messed up and out of whack, considering what it was supposed to be.
2. After this, he was going to make new friends.
and
3. He had to help for once. Even if he didn't want to, he was part of the team, so he had to throw in his own share of work.

Somari picked up his fists, and assumed a fighting stance, granted it was a clumsy, "I have no idea how to fight", kind of stance, but a stance no less.

Dragon-Wolf began growling and spun round and snarled. Skylar spun round, to see another ice monster behind her. She shrieked and punched it, stunning the monster for a second while Dragon-Wolf pounced. Skylar gulped and kicked the thing.

The creatures were ten feet tall. Each was extremely thin, their limbs and torso being as thick as a regular adult's arm. They were made out of ice and had sharp edges and curves, as if they were made of blocks and triangles carved out of ice. They sorounded the group.

The creatures each bent their left arm, pointing their elbows forward. Sharp ice sprouted and sprouted from there. When the ice reached the length of 12 feet, they motioned their right hands and reached for the ice shafts growing out of their left elbows. They janked them off, so now the six ice beings each held a twelve-foot-long ice javelin.

Battle music

Axel lunged at the nearest ice creaure, thrusting his sword's blade at the creature's chest, but it was fast and blocked Axel's attack with its javelin. At that momment, the other five creatures lunged at the rest of the group.

The battle had begun.

"Oh... oh shit," Skylar muttered. She fished around in her pocket and found a pair of gloves. They didn't seem to be the best winter gloves, but they would do. She pulled them on and ran at one of the creatures, sidestepping as a javelin was thrown at her. She grabbed the javelin, the cold infiltrating the safety of her gloves and sending the cold coursing through her body. She snapped the javelin in two, making them look like dual swords. Skylar used them as such, fighting the ice creature she had just stolen the javelin from. She had to rely on her companions to stop other javelins being tossed at her as she duelled with the ice creature, who was using its arms as a weapon. Its elbows were sharp and cut through Skylar's glove and into her skin. She cried out but ducked under a relentless elbow swing. Using her hand to support her, Skylar kicked the ice creature's feet from beneath it, knocking the creature down.

She smashed her ice-sword against the ice monster but the sword shattered, having merely created a crack. As the creature tried to stand, Skylar wrapped her arm around its neck and began pulling. The cracking sounds echoed in her ears and it seemed like a terrifying eternity before the head rolled off into Skylar's hands. It seemed weaker than before and Skylar raised the head in the air and smashed it into the ground. It shattered into thousands of little, weak pieces. Skylar thought she had done it, until the headless body stood up and smashed her across the face with its elbow. Blood spurted from Skylar's face and she let out a wail of incredible pain before she grabbed the creature's arm and used it to support her as she stood up. The arm broke off as she got to her feet and Skylar used the elbow as a weapon, driving the ice creature backwards. Yet again she knocked it over and dived down, keeping on top of the creature as she looked for a weak spot. She saw none so she decided to render the creature useless by breaking all its limbs off.

"You can't kill them, just break their limbs off!" Skylar yelled as she leaned back, throwing away the torso of the ice creature, whom she had reasonable doubts was still alive. Dragon-Wolf hadn't moved to attack, instead watching Skylar's technique, in the hope of mirroring her fighting in a dog-like style, but he had to run this through his brain, and he was quite thick as a dog. Skylar got off the ground and when she turned to Dragon-Wolf, he saw the large cut that lay horizontally in the center of her face, running from the edge of her cheek, through her nose and to the edge of the other cheek. The cut would probably remain as a scar, yet Skylar barely felt the wound which was numbed by the overwhelming cold.
