Just the opposite, Toon. You have to be married to adopt people. You don't have to be married to get adopted, however.

So if both the husband and wife are not adopted, which branch would they be in then?

PS: Congrats to the future couple!

Well I'm adopted but ToonBlade isn't.

Think of it this way:

If you are adopted by me or anyone I have adopted, you are in the main branch. If you are adopted by Xero or his children, you are in the side branch #1 (Labeling purposes only.) If you are adopted by Gerk, you are in the third branch.

Oh wow! I went away for a weekend for a convention and the thread is already on page 2!

Welcome back into the family Lida_Rose :-P And welcome to our family Franzika ^^ I see you've deleted the 2 boys 2 girls rule, Chase. That's a good idea. I don't mind having an all girl family at all ^^

I'm curious though- Why do we have 3 families already?

Well, Arky, I was hoping someone would hurry up and marry Gerk or Xero and start other branches, but I guess things just aren't happening like that. I'm sure it will! Both of those guys are open, ladies.

Clarification here- we've adopted Gerk and Xero? Of theirs is a parrallel family? I thought this tree was suppose to be 1 tree only?

It was, but now me and Xero were talking about it and decideed that we should try out some side branches of the tree. This is all new, a total reboot.

Clarification: There are three trees. Inevitably, they will eventually merge into one tree with people marrying into each other tree. Apparently this was to prevent more incest as it was a bit of an issue with previous trees.

I dunno, blame Gerk, it was his idea. |D

I'm going to be honest though: I am starting to doubt the awesomeness of three branches. >.>

I doubt it's a big deal anyway. You both would get married anyway, right? What would it matter to take away the three trees?

WELL, if we didn't have the extra trees, Gerk and I would actually have more marriage options because you kind of took most of the women that were open at the time as your daughters. >.> That's Problem #1.

Problem #2 is that people seem to just be marrying back into their old families, and it's nice to see that a bit, but it seems that EVERYONE is doing that. Spread out a little, guys, marry new people. Get to know more people. That's what this whole thing is partially about, right?

She isn't the only one that was open that you adopted, CCCM. See the point, please. :P

And you didn't express anything to Problem #2, either.

You're absolutely right, Xero. We have to split up from our own families, guys. This will get really boring. I am sticking with Arkillian, though. She's mine!

I can't speak for those who really want to keep their old families.

By the way, none of you are adopting Dahlia. If she comes back here she's becoming my daughter again, dammit! XD (If she wants to, that is!)

And Problem #3, and the one I just spoke to CCCM about.

WE NEED FRESH MEAT.

More people. We have a few old, a few new people (in terms of how long you've been with the forum), but we need more people. Advertise the FT in your sig. Do what you can to attract new people. The more people we get here, the more marriages and adoptions can happen. It's all up to you guys!

In that case nobody should be breaking from their families, because it's either all or none :P So we'll just go with none.

Regardless, my previous point stands. So please, guys, put your family tree positions in your sig, with a handy link to the thread. People will see it on other parts of the forum and come here. It'll work, even if it may take some time!

Xero- You can ask outside of this thread too. That's how alot of people use to draw others. Please don't be upset if some want to go back to old relationships. It's just easy now to do that riht now with it being at the beginning of the tree- the tree has just started. Some people have just gotten that kind of friendship with their CR brothers /sisters/parents and feel an emotional attachment to them. Find someone in an RP that you're good friends with and PM them :)

It's kind of awkward to approach people outside of the thread and invite them sadly. I'm not the kind of person to do that.

The best way to go about these things isn't the easiest way. Sometimes it's better to branch out and try new things. Doesn't it get stale for some people to be with the same people for so long? Has anyone actually thought about that? I'm just curious.

Well, I'm not going to argue with you cause it's not my argument. I've already have decided on who I'm marrying. I'd like to encourage future grand daughters / sons to try new partners, but if they don't wish to then it's up them.

Me and Xero have been talking, and I've decided to lift the "marry to adopt" rule for them only. But that doesn't mean they can't marry!

I'm not trying to get the current family members to break apart, please understand that. I'm sorry if I made it sound that way.

It's ok *hugs* I know what you mean. I just feel that I shouldn't argue as it doesn't apply to me. I'll try to be encouraging. And don't feel that batchelorhood should stop you from marrying someone if you wish to later :)

But it suuucks being a bachelor! XDD Kind of, anyway. Especially when you're being counted on by the head of the main branch to get a side branch going.

Okay, current members, you have your mission! BRING US FRESH MEEEEEAT. That includes putting the FT's link and your position in your sig, and telling others.

I know :< You can worry about marrying later now though :) That mean you can still drink milk out of the cartoon though!
