It has been nearly three years since Athena Cross started her own lawfirm office, jointed with her defense aid, partner and childhood friend, Ben Credable. Business has wained reciently, with not a sign of a client for over a month.

Most of their days wer spent organizing and cleaning the office, reading over lawbooks and watching the news on television. Sometimes Ben would suggest they go out for sweets, and every time, Athena would tell him about the last sugar rush he went on.

"Come on, Attey!" He wined, calling his lawyer friend by her childhood nickname. "It's only been two days since my last cookie!"

"Ben," Athena sighed, glancing up from her journal. "I've told you time and time again about your sweet adiction. Now, I hate to repeat myself, but your metabolic rate tends to skyrocket if you injest any type of artificial sugar. If you need something sweet, eat an apple."

Ben grumbled and he turned back to his chore, cleaning out his desk.

Felix Rodes came around the bend of the street in front of Ben's office, eating a donut from the bakery.

"Let's see if these guys have any info on that terrorrist group with that disease... GUILT, was it?" He murmured to himself.

"Sadly no," Ben anwered with a sigh. "Not much work to be done here. I was going to head out for a treat...but..." He whispered the last part, not wanting Athena to hear. "Ms. Cross doesn't want me to eat any more cookies."

The doorbell the rung. Athena placed her journal down on the table and went to answer it. She opened the door. "Yes, may I help you with something?"

"It's some disease... I don't know what it is, but someone said it was bio-terrorism. Do you know anything about it?"

Athena took the photo and examined it closely. "A disease you say?" Athena thought back to a recient case she took about a month ago. She was able to clear her client, who was a medical doctor convicted of murder by purposefully injecting a virus into a patient. She was ble to capture the criminal and brought him to justice. But this...a terrorist weapon?

"I may have some info about this virus, though little more than what was in the autopsy. Please, come in and have a seat." She led him to the office, seeing Ben still on the phone with his mysterious friend. She jestured at the seat before the desk. "A few weeks ago, I've handled a trial for a medical doctor name Odoroku Megame, a japanese sergeon who studied here in the States. He was acused of killing a patient using a rather odd virus. From what I remember...I think it was named GUILT." The rummaged through the files until she found the autopsy, and placed it on the dest for him.

"GUILT?" Felix almost jumped. "That's it! That's the one!" He picked up the file and frowned. "This says nothing about a worm! Especially not in the afflicted area... The one I went against was in the stomach and liver, but these are different symptoms, and it was in a different location!"

"Are there any more cases involving diseases, Ms... What's your name?" He asked, putting the file down.

"Huh?" Ben said, confused. The glanced around at the man seated by Athena's desk. "Um...sure, just head over."

"Are there any more cases involving diseases, Ms... What's your name?" The man asked Athena.

"Cross," she replied, adjusting her reading glasses. "Athena Cross. And this is my partner, defense aid and Private Investigator, Benjamin Credable."

"Yo!" Ben said, grinning.

"I'm afraid I don't have any more files other than the one you've just read. All other cases I've handled weren't viral related. Although..." She snapped her finger. "Ben! That case you worked with back at the precent, when you where a cop. Wasn't that a case related to this?"

"Huh?" Ben glanced down at the file. "Oh...oh right! The first report came that it was poisoning, but studies found it was a viral infection. This one got to the heart, though."

"Could you tell us more about the...virus you were up against, sir?" Athena spoke to the surgeon.

Suddenly the door burst open, a man rushed in, shouting 'NOBODY MOVE! YOU!! GET IN THE CORNER! YOU COULD BE THE TERRORIST!!' And pointed at Ben.

"Me?! A Terrorist?! Look buddy!" Ben shouted defiantly. "THE ONLY THING I TERRORIZE IS THE SNACK STAND, SO BACK OFF!"

"Umm, my name is Felix," He said. "And the thing I went up against was a giant, mutated tape worm that lived in Phoenix's kidney. It moved to the stomach when I cut it in half, and it regenerated, growing more worms. They cut up everything and worms came out of the cuts when they sporulated."

He went on. "After I took care of the worms in the liver, a giant worm regenerated in his stomach, and when I killed him, spikes portruded from the stomach wall. They sprayed gases out, but the worms fluids or blood vaporized them. They seemed to be a genetic combination of the worm's genes and the infectious DNA itself." He finished.

"A virus with a rapid reproduction rate." Athena commented. "I couldn't give you much else on the thought, since I'm no medical expert. But yes, in the file case you see here," she tapped the autopsy report. "The virus was found in the circulartory system, damaging and clotting the vessels as it made it's way to the heart." She pulled out a medical report on the victim. "This showed the symtoms the victim suffered through, along with what it was assuped to have been. The prosecution went with the fact that Magame intentionally poisoned the victim with an overdose of drugs, causing heart failure. Yet, no such drugs were found in the system, but this. She pulled out a medical x-ray of a worm-like being, much similar to the photo Felix had.

"The virus had a name, GUILT. Ben researched the virus and found it was being used by a group of terrorist as a bio-weapon. The worst part. This virus was extremely contageous."

"Contagious..." He thought. "Let's see. The worm self reproducing... It seems to be a hermaphorditic creature, able of rapid reproduction, contagious gases emerge from spikes that generate from contact in the blood stream, and the spikes are formed from the genetic matter of the worm and blood, like I've just said. The worm regenerates when cut, and they migrate up from the digestion organs to the heart, and when they reach the heart, terminate the patient." He finished analyzing everything and sighed. "I'm getting better at this!"

He looked at the x-ray. "This is definetely the same worm. Looks like this GUILT IS contagious. But how did it spread?"

"I think I could help you with that," Athena said, pulling out another file from the case. It had a photo of a middle-aged man with short blond hair and green eyes. "Nicolas Vaicole, from Romania. A pharmacologist acording to the records, and the one who planted the virus in the victim. He is currently in prison awaiting his trial. I doubt you could get anything from him, but he is more than likely working for this group."

"Nicolas Vaicole..." He thought. "WAIT!!!" He grabbed the picture. "Nicolas Vaicole! Hold on a sec... Yes! This is the one!" He jumped and cheered.

"Last week we got a call from Caduceus Romania Branch telling us about one Nicolas Vaicole with a special disease matching the symptoms of this GUILT strain we've labeled "Paraskevi 2"." He thought for a moment. "Wait, there's also a strand WITHIN Paraskevi 2 called Triti 2. I read in Derek's medical files that both of these were originally the start of GUILT. THey were the first strands that originated from the terrorist cell that produced them. Derek fought them all and eradicated them, but it looks like they've managed to improve them both."

"If that's the case," Athena Cross said, closing the file. "There's more we need to speak about with Nicolas. Ben?"

"Yeah," he said, noticing Athena's commanding voice. "Got it. I'll notify the Detention Center right away."

"We'll set up a meeting with him, and get the truth out. You'll be joining us, right?" She noted to both Felix and Phoenix.
