"It's not 80 kilograms of anything in a bag, guys. Unless the culprit carried 2 10kg dumbbells down there and prayed to God that the stairs would break at 3 AM, that's not possible. Something else must have broken the step."

"Karega's killer couldn't have been in both hallways at once," SiRReN said. "The power went out, the basement step broke, and Karega was killed just after exiting the gym all at the same time. It was someone else. The only people in that hallway were Charlie and Jay."

But then he'd have just stayed down there for a few hours, alongside the rising water? It doesn't quite feel right. Maybe he was lying about being in the classroom at all, but that would be a very strange thing to lie about."

"R-Right," Ryuji said. "Unless Jay was lying, Karega entered the classroom 3 times. Once when she talked to Jay, another time at 2 AM, and then when she was found dead at 4 AM. Which means someone isn't telling the truth, or we're missing something big."

"And why would Jay have locked himself in the kiln and turn it on? Besides of it being dangerous, it would just have been unnecessarily painful, especially since locking himself in a cold kiln would have worked just as well."
