Akio cackled as he set the paper ablaze. The sprinklers remained off. The fire remains burning-- the metal floor seems not one to catch on fire, but there is enough paper for the fire to sustain itself for a bit longer.

Akio moved to slap it out of John's hand, but it turned out to be a fruitless gesture. As soon as John picked up the paper, he dropped it. "Ah! Damn that hurts!" John drops the burning piece of paper just as Akio reached him.
A tone everyone had heard before played: the NG code tone. Akio, weakened, said "But why...?" before he dropped to the ground, unconscious.
