She was there from before the crash, so if Vic killed her, she was just sitting there waiting for him, even after the train crashed, and when she could smell fire from the room next door. When the train crashed, our first actions were to jump outside to see everyone else. So why wouldn’t Siri do the same? Because she was already dead, or at least unconscious. Which is impossible in the scenario where Vic is the killer. In fact, perhaps the crash messed with the killer, Taylor’s plans. Something happened to the corpse which would prove it was him. So he had to quickly set up the box trap, and jump out to secure himself an alibi.”

“Siri intended to meet with someone who never showed. The crash startled her and the fire formed the hole in the door, letting her see Vic struggle. She ended up letting him in. Evelyn, who had remained silent for a while, suddenly cleared her throat to speak. "Ahem, yes. I suppose I might as well add on my own thoughts at this point. At this stage, I believe we've managed to make a lot of progress now- we've narrowed everything down to two suspects- Taylor and Vic. And at this stage... I believe that Nina's theory holds more weight. Taylor has had a weaker alibi by far, and I feel that a lot of evidence surrounding Vic feels somewhat flimsy and circumstantial. It doesn't help that he's hardly been helping us out so far, and his mysterious lack of talent is concerning. But still, at this point, I believe we should try to narrow down our reasoning further. There is still time left, and we should not rush to vote, as an innocent's life could be on the line here", she said gravely. "Yes, I believe for now, we should try to go through everything again, step by step. If Taylor is the culprit, there may be something else more definitive pointing to him. Otherwise, we could uncover something else instead. It's certainly worth a shot."

"Fine," Nina huffs. "But it's definitely him. Only thing I can think of is the hole in the door. Maybe instead of Taylor using it to spy on the kitchen, it was because of something else, an accident. He and Siri were fightin', and one of them had a pointy object. They try to stab the other person, it misses, and hits the door. And hey, maybe that's Siri's cause of death, which was supposedly masked by that giant container."

"They were distracted enough not to notice, say, a person sneaking by, but a fight involving heavy objects and something cutting through the door would make much more of a commotion. And I do not see why neither Siri nor her attacker would have screamed or made any other kind of noise to try and alert people, as is human instinct."

[Siri's body is next to the door. There is a large storage container crushing the entirety of her upper body. A smaller container is on top of one of her legs. Three marks on the wall suggest struts had been there holding the larger container up. There is a hole in the door. The rest of the room is a mess, with smaller containers scattered all about the place. The other large containers are all still on the walls supported by struts, however.]

Nina rubs her temples.

"Gosh, this is so frustrating," she said under her breath. "I bet this wouldn't be happening if I was a cute sociologist or a sexy barista."

Nina clears her throat and looks up.

"Earlier in the trial, we were theorizing that the box crushing Siri before the crash. The reasoning being for the killer to give themselves a clear alibi, which means the people without alibis wouldn't be doing what this hypothetical kill intended."

"However, we got some more info which led us to conclude that the murder, or at least the corpse crushing, happened immediately after the crash. This means that the killer had to have been in the room beforehand. The only person who wasn't with someone else, or who didn't have permanent gloves on, was Taylor. In this case, he would have given himself a hypothetical alibi by being with other people when the box crushed Siri, tying into our earlier theorization."

"It is possible the killer was already within before the crash occurred, although I'm not sure if there's any evidence that supports that... But if that were the case, it would explain Ms. Hall's bruise, since she must've still been alive when the smaller container fell on her."
She looked around a little, stalling. "That would be why Mr. Fournier is under suspicion, I think. He has no alibi for before the crash, and could've been in the storage container to kill her."

"Oh! That's... That's absolutely right!" Althea seemed to have realized something. She cleared her throat, and launched into a long, long, long explanation.
"Before the crash, anyone in the kitchen would've heard a struggle going on. This means Ms. Hall cannot have been assaulted then! During the crash, well, I don't think anyone would have heard much of anything, but I doubt an attack could be carried out then. Immediately after the crash, Mr. Terry would have most definitely heard something, but when he left and the firefighting team started their work, there would be an admittedly brief window of time where they wouldn't have heard anything! Although, of course, the closer they got to the storage door the harder it would be to mask the sound of a fight. After that, the only time there could have been an undetected scuffle in the storage room was the time between the fire team's retreat and the body discovery."

"Hey so we thought the crates were in front of the storage door right after the train crash, but I forgot that one of the crates in front of the storage door is the one that fell on Siri, which we know fell later! So all I'm saying is that there probably wasn't any crates on the other side of the storage door when Vic says he tried to open it."
