"Charlie was keeping watch from before the blackout, so he had to have been stationed there before 2 am. So he then would've had to have activated the trap at 3 am, lumbered over to the art room and stuffed himself in the kiln… It doesn't make sense behavior-wise, but it's the only physical way a person could have done it without Charlie seeing."
