He seemed to be trying to reassure himself more than anyone else. "Okay, so we simply need to look around here more. We need to locate whatever room Sunny's trapped in and we need to get him out of there before that thing goes off!" His voice rose a bit as he spoke, clearly out of concern.

A loud noise distracts the group from their frantic discussion. It comes from a completely different monitor—a smaller one set into the wall. At the moment, the screen is filled with static, but before long dark lines begin to emerge, building an unusual figure.

It’s a tall, cat-like person wearing an elaborate dress. It stands behind the monitor over a background of swirling strings of red binary code. Of course, it clearly isn’t real footage. The creature itself is drawn in two dimensions with precise, jagged lines and colored with a muted palette.

“Hello, players. I’m impressed. I did not expect you all to escape the dungeon so quickly. I offer my sincerest congratulations.”

It spoke with no cadence in its voice, as if every word were being cobbled together from a database. There was certainly no emotion or even any real investment in the individual words it chose.

“You may call me Yang. I would like to formally welcome you all to the Zodiac Game.”

Zhang whirled, nearly ready to destroy Patient X for their callous remarks when the Cat-figure of Yang appeared on the screen. Zhang ran over to the screen as fast as she could and fell to her knees in prayer.

"There were expectations behind this game. It was designed by someone with the experience of the players in mind. Yang is a cat, which is a running theme with the form our captor chooses to take. Yang acts like an artificial intelligence. It is challenging to set up artificial intelligence for administrating a game featuring live players and many variables. It would be easier to run it with a human. AI is not preferable compared to a human but our captor has decided to do it. The game is lacking staff even though everyone was captured physically and this place is very intricate. The design is rather nice as well, maybe it was done on commission but our captor would not want to do anything that could be traced back to them," X's chilling voice can be heard quietly behind what everyone else is saying.
