"The only other way out of the morgue is the exit used for body and supplies transport," Adam said. "Eve designated that a... 'deadzone'," he continued, almost sounding distasteful, "so no-one would have been able to use it. The only viable way in and out is the door you found blocked."

"Hey, if you look at the map, there's something interesting there. I didn't realize but the door to the chamber Nick was in and the exit out of the morgue are pretty close to one another, so it looks like the box that was in front of the door might be what was keeping him in there while he suffocated," Marshall says, his words firm.

"That doesn't explain how the killer escaped before he put the box in front of the door, but clearly that explains some things about this whole setup here."

"Could the box have been, like, sitting on top of the door? Then when the killer shut the door, it would fall and block everything off?" Nana shrugged.

"I don't know if that makes any sense, and I gotta admit thinking about boxes falling front of doors is giving me traumatic flashbacks, but the box was dented on the bottom. So that would explain why, if it was somehow suspended and then fell at some point in front of the door."

Marshall nods seriously, biting his lip ever so slightly.

"Ah...That seems like a possibility, Marshall," Eli said, "So that means Nick probably would have been knocked out by the gas and then placed into the cubby by the killer."

"But as for how they left, I don't got a clue. Seems kinda ridiculous, but maybe it had something to do with Vic's corpse? We don't really have an explanation for what happened there..."

"If it's necessary to find Nicholas' killer, then I suppose I'll give my testimony." Kyoya sighed. "But I detest being treated like a puppet in someone else's game.

"I was in the classroom with the others boys at 10:00. It didn't take long for everyone to be eating out of Miss Péchard's hands. I on the other hand was resistant to the demimondaine's feminine wiles, so I declined bodyguard duty for a more important task--which happened to be doing anything else.

"At around 12:50 I had a bad feeling. I felt that we had become too complacent and a murder would soon occur, so I let the burden of preventing it fall on me. I set my RC cars about the facility and made sure to leave my room as well. After all, if the murderer noticed any of my RC cars they'd rush to my room to silence me.

"I locked myself in a staff bedroom and kept a lookout on everyone after the meeting. Eli, Nicos, and Marshall had left their posts and were wandering the facility alone. I trailed them each for a bit but they didn't seem to do anything too suspicious so I stopped.

"At 14:04 I was patrolling the staff corridor with my car, but suddenly the car was knocked off of the wall and spun wildly. I only noticed that the attacker was holding a bucket, but couldn't glean anything else. The camera was ripped off the car and I thought it would be destroyed, but instead the attacker left it on the ground. I couldn't really notice much due to the low angle.

"After a few minutes I got nervous and decided to open the door to the staff bedroom since I feared the attacked could still be in the hall, but nobody was there. I sent out another car and closed the door. It was around this time I also noticed Miss Hale enter my room with a separate camera.

"At 14:30 the fallen camera spotted Miss Culver. She landed on her face right near it, it was quite humorous! I even took a screenshot if the rest of you would like me to develop physical copies. She then stomped on the camera and unfortunately destroyed it. Luckily my patrol was about done so after some time I stealthily crept back to my own room."

If looks could kill, Kyoya would be dead.

"Why you little--!" Skylar restrained herself from shouting and tried to regain her composure, "You could've left that bit out, you know..."

"If you wanted an upskirt picture that badly, you could've just asked..." she muttered.

"You fell?" Nana gasped at Skylar after hearing Kyoya's testimony. "Are you alright? You should be more careful than that, okay? Thanks for taking her picture, Mr. Kyoya!" she added, nodding appreciatively to the Toaster.

Then she frowned. "Wait. I shouldn't thank you for that. Making fun of people like that isn't very nice."

"This theory sounds reasonable to me!" Adam said, managing to convey a nod with a bob of his virtual smiling face. "The door is hinged, so it would be possible to place a box above it while it's half open. Raising a hand to provide support means balancing the box need not be a concern. "

Eli seemed somewhat taken aback by the idea that a toaster had been spying on him, but didn't comment on the matter.

"Now that I think about it, Evelyn and Skylar said they told Nick about Nicos and Marshall actin' up, right? And he said he'd talk to them?" He pointed towards Nicos and Marshall. "Did either of you fellas actually see him after that?"

Marshalls covers his face to prevent himself from laughing too hard at Skylar's reaction.

"Hey, I'd rather you didn't record stuff, though, Kyoya. That's kind of screwed up, yeah?"

"Anyway, sounds we know now how that closed room situation was done," he pauses and cocks an eyebrow at Eli. "I didn't see Nick. Or at least if I did I wasn't gonna let him talk my ear off, so I woulda avoided him if possible."

Marshall looks at the RC car, "Yeah, kid I was talking about you snapping pictures of Skylar when she's feeling embarrassed. There's surveillance and then there's what you did."

He stands silent for a second, a quiet determination in his eyes.

"Hmm, I'm not exactly sure I get how this all worked, but I'm thinking about it this way: when Nick left the medical room at two twenty-five, he made his way to the morgue for the final preparation of Vic's body or whatever. He was in there, and then someone sneaks up to the morgue door, and somehow holds it shut or something. Then, at two thirty the gas goes off, making and Nick can't escape or override it because the door is being held shut and someone slathered glue all over the console. This makes him go into a state of delirium, and this is when our killer shoves Nick in the chamber or whatever, and then sneaks out with the crate above the doors so that Nick is sealed in there even when he gains full control over the muscles."

"The killer probably had to do a couple other things, but if you think about it that way, the crime is pretty simple."

"Although I see no problem with this interpretation of the events, that still begs the question of what the bottle of medicine was for." Althea said. "Ah, Adam, if this bottle came from the medical room, is it possible to discover when it was taken?"

"It assumed the killer just planted it there as a red herring. You know, to make us think he poisoned himself or something," Eli said, "But I guess it could have served some other purpose."

"When we were all in the classroom with Rose, didn't Teach have a coughing fit? Could the medicine have been for that? Might explain why he had it."

"Wasn't Lady Evelyn's monocle broken at that time?" Honda asked. "If I'm not mistaken she mentioned she couldn't see well without it, so it might have been possible for someone to remain hidden from her."

"I see." Honda replied. "However, she mentioned that she recognized you because of your clothes. And she couldn't recognize the figure she saw in the hallway because the clothes were unfamiliar to her." Honda turned to face the coroner once again.

"Yeah Honda is right. Evelyn did see someone going into the staff hallway at 12:10 or so. Kyoya didn't say it was him. So it had to have been the killer," Marshall says to Nina. "Also, as you might recall, the morgue door faces into the office, and I think it would be pretty easy to hang out in there for a while without running into anyone."

Marshall steadily stretches his arms. In contrast to the last trial, he's barely rattled at all.

"But then Nick would have ran into them before he entered the morgue. He would have stopped to talk to them, maybe even long enough for the gas thing to go off while he was still outside. And remember, he only just had enough time to suffocate, any time wasted outside would have made the murder impossible."

"I dodged everyone for like a couple hours just walking around. Our killer could have done the same thing, you know? They could have hidden around the corner or behind a desk or something and followed him in. They knew that he would have to come back for Vic's body at some point before the funeral time," Marshall says rigidly.

"You are right though that, in our scenario right now, the killer doesn't have much control over when Nick would come back to the morgue. He coincidentally seems to have gotten there right in time."

"Nick told us he'd fetch the body at about 14:30, the killer must have used that information to their advantage. If they indeed hid behind a desk, they'd risk getting caught by Nick. If they hid around a corner, they'd risk being seen by someone. Even if it was possible for them to not be spotted by anyone, it's a real flimsy plan they had going on there. Everything would fall apart if anyone just happened to be walking around their area, or if Nick's line of sight went anywhere but directly in front of him."

"Look, our killer clearly took the shot, right? Just because you'd be too scared to do a stealth mission like this doesn't mean that our killer would be too," Marshall retorts. "Anyway, in any scenario, no matter what you believe, at some point our killer went in the morgue for one reason or another, and on their way to the morgue, yeah, they would have risked getting caught. I imagine they had an excuse made up in case they were."

"Though that's good. I feel like we've pretty much confirmed that our killer was there at two thirty on the dot," Marshall snorts.

"Ah...well..." Evelyn paused, looking down uncomfortably. "I wasn't aware that others knew of this, but... Yes. I do. I am unable to distinguish between people's faces normally. They all appear the same to me, you see. It's why I have my monocle... Or well, had. There's a microchip connected to it which helps in correcting this via wave technology, so as long as I have it near me, I could see you all just fine. But now, your faces would all look alike to me. She looked up at the others again seriously. "But now that you all know that, I'll also add that I can recognise all of you here- by your voices, your hair colour and your usual clothing. So I was still able to reasonably identify everyone, sans the figure I saw in the corridor. However, considering the alibis at the time, plus the fact that the figure ha unrecognisable clothes and brown hair... Kyoya only seems to fit the bill, so there's little doubting that. The same goes for Nina whom I clearly saw in the rec room. So this changes little still."

She shook her head. "Still, the fact that I hardly even recognise Althie without her mask was...certainly troubling", she murmured a little sorrowfully.

"Oh, didn't Kyoya say he peeked out of the bedroom at around the same time his car was attacked? So yeah, that was around the same time you said you saw the figure too," Marshall says to Evelyn, nodding.

“Yes, they were most likely there around 2:30, I can agree to that. However, it seems unlikely they were waiting around in a public space like that, considering how easy it could have harmed their plan. I’m saying, if there was another way to do this, another place they could have waited, then that would be more likely, hm?”

She shook her head. "Still, the fact that I hardly even recognise Althie without her mask was...certainly troubling", she murmured a little sorrowfully.

“With or without your monocle, things would have made very little difference then, is the case?”

Sort of like monkeys, you could say."

"Ah, it was just something I had heard about in my travels." The minstrel responded. "I can't even imagine what having that would be like. It truly sounds terrifying..." Honda muttered.

"I'm sorry for bringing up a painful subject for you, especially since it doesn't change much at all. You have my sincerest apologies, Lady Evelyn."
