"Okay so, it seems like the box didn't contain that cube or any of the weird alternate universe items, since those were in the boathouse. But... it seems like S could've opened it the whole time anyway? Or even any one of us could have. Since the key was just sitting in the time machine the whole time. But... I guess we should start by assuming that the box was never opened before today, just so that we can try to figure this out..."

"Anyway, so maybe it was a corpse from S's alternate timeline all hermetically sealed in there? I don't think it could've been any of the people from our timeline... and either way, if S's memories are from the alternate timeline, then the only things that would make him regain them is stuff from the alternate timeline."
