"Actually, there is another reason Florian might want my talent. Um, it's even sort of the main use I have for it... he could use it to hide inside the storage trunk for an extended period of time. Normally when I do that I stop my heart completely to avoid using any oxygen at all, but, he could have instead simply slowed it to significantly reduce his oxygen intake while still remaining aware of what was happening around him. He'd be super drowsy, but, with some focus he could notice people entering the cabin, and then speeding up his heart again would make him more wakeful, enough to emerge and knock them out."

He sighed. "I guess it's possible he used the shower curtain to keep himself from getting wet but he'd turn the shower off when he left. He couldn't have been rushed out since the curtain was found folded..."
