Mei steps out of the clinic, making her way to Suyin's side with a syringe in her hand. "This is strong shit, but it's also all I could find. Hold out your arm and stay still." She definitely looks far more refreshed than before, standing up straighter and, so far, it doesn't seem like Mei is doing any of the idle movements she usually does.

"What?!" Monk jumped as the doctor went over the list of names. "Er..." He looked at Juanli. "So you were there, huh..." He seemed weirdly shaky. "Was Sunny with you, by any chance?"

"As for the, er, circled name, maybe that's X?" He prepositioned. "She seems quite wrapped in bandages. I find it hard to believe those are the same injuries from four years ago, but... The possibility exists, I suppose." He turned to the bandaged woman. "Are you Li An?"

“What about the burns? Do they need to be treated?” Mao continued to pester Mei with questions.

"The worst ones? Probably. Pain first." Mei adds as she takes out the necessary makeshift bandages and antibiotic out of her bag, the back of which she uses as a ghetto-table for everything after zipping it up. "Few minutes and I'll tell you more precisely."

“No reason?!” Fujisaki snaps, again, and shouts loudly. “How many times to I have to repeat myself?”

Fujisaki takes some deep breaths to calm himself down. “I didn’t have a choice. What’s with these delusions? No matter the choice I made, someone would’ve burned.”

“Why is that so hard to understand?” He seemed to ask in genuine confusion. His fist was still shaking, however.

Amethyst was about to make some comment about the key that was pulled out of her leg, but decided to stay silent after noticing the commotion.

"... That painkiller's pretty good, if it's the one they used on me. You'll stop feeling the burns for sure." she added, helpfully.

"Why do you keep saying that? No choice?" Monk asked. "Suyin and Juanli both claim that you could have dumped the boiling water in an empty room. Are you claiming otherwise? How does that work?"

Sun Taikong's eyes narrowed in thought, and he glanced between the two involved parties. "If none of you are lying, isn't it possible this was a setup to sow dissent?" he suggested, finally willing to give Fujisaki the benefit of the doubt. "From Fujisaki's perspective he could only select two options, but from the sisters' perspective he was given three?"

"W-well yeah, there was an empty stall but... um, maybe mr. Fujisaki didn't have the option to have the hot water fall in that one... Or another bad thing would happen if he picked that option! ...Right? That seems like a horrible situation to be in...." Sunny theorized.

"Okay." Suyin said, holding her arm out as she tried to keep it still.

Dr. Uwem mulls over what he have heard.

"Perhaps the Morphogenetic Field might have played a hand in this situation..." The doctor mumbles to himself.

"So you're claiming to be framed? That's quite a suspicious story there, friend. Two against one. Three if you count Sunny."

"Still, a whim? Are you quite sure about that? There's something I've noticed about you, Fujisaki", Monk smirked. "This game seems quite unfair to you so far. Why was it that you were chosen earlier in the throne room to be the subject of that drain/pass thing? Perhaps our captor holds a grudge against you. Which is interesting, because on first glance there doesn't seem to be much connecting you to anybody else", said the man who had seemingly no connection to anybody else. "Unless...? You and Juanli both have scars over your eyes. Juanli obtained hers from the explosion four years ago. Could you be the same? If you were there at the Bird's Nest Stadium that day, with Juanli and her sister... that would give you a connection, right? Tell me, am I onto something here or not?!" He asked forcefully.

Mei waits for Suyin to settle down, giving her a slightly reprimanding side-eye. Once the screaming is over, she positions the syringe at an appropriate vein on her arm and then carefully injects some of the contents. "As I said, it's strong. You might feel a bit woozy and so on." The medic reaches down for her bandages and antibiotic, taking her time to properly dress the visible burns and the injection point.

“Are you mad, woman?!” Fujisaki snaps back at Suyin. “What’s your goal here? To make me seem a fool? I won’t have it!”

“You intend to lie to my face? Enough of this! I won’t hear any more of it.” Fujisaki takes one deep breath and calms down. “What’s done is done. We are fortunate none of the women were trapped for long. We could argue, or we could put our efforts towards escape. Which is more important?”

Then, he turns to Monk. “My scars have nothing to do with that incident. I received them when I was young. In a fight. It is not relevant to our situation, of this I’m certain.”

“Our group, we split evenly in the washrooms. I do not fancy myself a nosy man. I do not know what the sisters discussed. Again, it no longer matters. What is done is done. I will not stand for more of this slander.”

"I still find it hard to buy the scars are a coincidence", Monk scoffed. "The victims list the doctor showed us says that Juanli had injuries to both her eye and arm", he said, referring to the info doc. "Sound familiar?", he asked, glancing at Fujisaki's arm. "In this game, I doubt many coincidences are there."

"Oh, by the way, ma'am ", he politely addressed Juanli. "Did you manage to uncover anything of use in the washroom or did nothing of note happen other than your sister getting doused? Forgive me for asking but I figured I might as well get it out of the way."

"Oh yes, the Spectra Syndrome paper that I published..." Dr. Uwem began talking, like he's really interested on the topic.

"Where to start... the Spectra Syndrome is a mental disorder, in which the subject can experiences delusions of a nonexistent person that invades every aspect of their life. I theorized that such conditions can occurs rarely when one witnessed the death of a loved one and it may be related to the Morphogenetic Field. I'm sure you're familiar with the Morphogenetic Field, no?" The doctor explains before he gave them a brief lecture on the Morphogenetic Field Theory, even though it was already covered in the book.

"I actually have a patient who suffers from Spectra Syndrome... However, I do not want to reveal who they are, as that's confidential information." He said. "So, why do you ask, Sun? Are you interested or something?"

Fujisaki's been very specific about avoiding any mention of an 'empty' stall, insisting all his options were occupied. "Rooster hasn't objected to the notion that there was three rooms he could choose from. He only is saying that no matter which one he chose, he would have hurt someone. He also insisted that all the women made it out. He sees three," X talks over Sun, not bothering to pay attention to his more thorough explanation.

She returns to the subject of her identity, "I am not Li An. If I am, then it has no bearing. If I had a name like that then I would use it."

"We are only alive thanks to good fortune." Zhang says haughtily leaning on the sledgehammer while ensuring her handbag was still eloquently at her side. "After all if none of us or you had taken the sledgehammer then poor Suyin might have boiled alive in there." she said gesturing at her sister.

She let out a heavy sigh the anger starting to dissipate she heard Sunny plea for them all to remain calm "But perhaps it is this Spectre Syndrome? It is easy to verify anyway. I broke through my door and then Suyin's. I only needed to break two doors and yet if we go back into the washroom we shall see there are three broken cubicles, one for the extra one you smashed open while I rescued Suyin."

Quote:
"Oh, by the way, ma'am ", he politely addressed Juanli. "Did you manage to uncover anything of use in the washroom or did nothing of note happen other than your sister getting doused? Forgive me for asking but I figured I might as well get it out of the way."

"Why yes Mr Monk, we did find a couple of things in there. Let me recount."

[Washroom Clues]

"I'll spare you the details on the puzzles, but my Sunny was a vital asset in solving them. He couldn't have made me prouder, and I think he helped all of you as well." She said beaming with pride before her eyes shifted slightly "So I hope you'll all consider gifting him some CDP soon, having someone who can see into all rooms and help with all puzzles is of clear benefit to us."

She waved a hand dismissively "But onto the information."

"As was mentioned earlier we found blueprints for a machine designed to be attached to a chair. This device seems to be intended to download 'excess data' from the brain." Zhang shrugged "Perhaps this is something Madam Yang knows more about. I can't think this would work on a human."

"We also found a Newspaper article about the Yakuza." She looked over at the monitor. "Those are very bad people over in Japan sweetie." she clarified for Sunny's sake. "Apparently they had started raiding Chinese embassies following a power struggle within the Yakuza where an enforcer had killed their boss and taken over." She gave Fujisaki a doubtful look "Mr Fujisaki claims to know little of the Yakuza in case anyone was wondering."

"It wasn't long after that, that Madam Yang forced us into the Shower Game, and that's all that happened there."

X quickly begins to spiral in her own thoughts, "Cat knows about Rooster's condition and so manipulated our movement so that he would have to enter the washroom and make that choice. The person Rooster sees is a part of this game. The Cat knows who the spectre is in all likelihood. Perhaps this fits into my theory about the Snake. Where did Rooster's mind place this person when we woke up? It would be an empty cell."

"Rooster knows about the Yakuza. This is my first clue to his identity," she paces gently around the others. "The Americans didn't strike first."

"The guy did want to scold me for being so trigger happy or whatever back in the cells..." Monk recalled. "Perhaps it was because in his mind, there was someone in there. Interesting, to say the least. The Snake player, only existing in his mind..."

"And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he was part of the Yakuza. Not sure where else to go with that though... The guy's obviously not in his right mind though, so we all should try to keep an eye on him for now", he suggested.

"That would explain a lot, yeah," Sun Taikong said thoughtfully. "Let's not misrepresent the man, though. I'm sure he's of perfectly sound mind otherwise."

He glanced over at Patient X then. "So you're saying the Yakuza were attacking us before the Americans? Surely the two are unconnected though?"

"There is no requirement human cruelty has to make sense. Looking for connections is too logical. Killing is indiscriminate. The mindless details are impossible to sift through," X curls her mouth in disgust. "The Yakuza attacking embassies is another carrot for someone to chase after."

"That's right. I recall Dr. Uwem saying something about knowing some patients here. Also Cat is deeply familiar with my medical history so I can only imagine he will be familiar with everyone's. There are incentives in this game to hide information from one another. I come back to Dr. Uwem being a lynch pin in the middle of us. He will give us no information but we can infer."

X stops her pacing by Dr. Uwem and tilts he head far to the side, "Dr. Uwem, do you believe in morphogenetic field theory? It seems like fiction. Another way to try and explain the random events of the universe using something neat and orderly. It's a human desire to believe in a higher power. You have approached this game with the curiosity of a Cat so I must believe you have an open feeling to this theory. You said it might be a part of Rooster's condition but you know more about his condition than anyone here."

"Something else to consider. Maybe not everybody here knows about this morphogenetic field business." Mao said, being considerate of those who might've not played Zero Escape. He looked expectantly at Sunny, "Do you need an explanation or did you already receive one?"

Yang appears on a nearby monitor, interrupting the group’s discussion. She stares coldly at the group before launching into another explanation.

“The first Gifting Phase will now begin,” Yang explains, “You may conduct it from where you currently stand. In fact, you may prefer to do this in order to save time.

“The rules to the Gifting Phase are quite simple. Inside each Red Envelope, you will find a small coin. This coin represents 1 point of CDP. To give it to a player, deposit it into the slot on the side of their bracelet.

“Alternatively, you may convert the coin into another hour for Sunny’s bomb. The slot to do so is on the arm of the throne. Simply place the coin in there.

“You can also give points directly to Sunny’s bomb using the scanner on the throne. However, Sunny’s bomb may only receive a maximum of three additional hours per Gifting Phase.

“For now, decide how you wish to spend your Red Envelopes. The leaders of rooms have the final say on how the points they collected should be spent. If you wish to donate points to Sunny, express your intention to do so in the thread. You also may continue discussing the current topic during this time.”
