Well Imust say it depend from which point of view you stand. If you stand in the shoes of the bullied, of cours you won't be suprised. If you stand in the bullied shoes, you can be suprise since that person never put resistance before and never suspect that he/she will do. Even more if you weren't aware of anything. (Doesn't have a link with the manga you're reading, though it made me think about that movie where parents learned that it was THEIR son who did the shooting at his school. Justmy two cents.)

I know it's not the case for you guys but... SPRING BREAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! WHOOOOOOOOPPPPPP!

No, I mean... well, a bully shouldn't be that surprised if their victim suddenly "overreacts" to things and might even stab them. If you repeatedly poke someone, they're bound to someday explode. Bullies have no right to seem hurt after a victim has enacted revenge on them. "After I mock you, you stab me? That is so mean, totally your fault~"

Yeah bullying can lead to some crazy shit. years of psychological torment can explode in an instant. Personally I have no sympathy for the person who bullies, but that judgement is somewhat clouded since I had my own problems in my high school days.
The sad thing is even if you report it to teachers or something that they won't do shit about it. Not to mention parents with a 'my child doesn't do that' attitude. It's one situation where I would condone violence, otherwise people keep fucking with you.

I remember a time where I punched a guy standing behind a door. I punched him through a small window I felt like a triple A moviestar or something. In retrospect I only regret that these outburst almost never happened so after a small period of time the bullying would continue. Ah well.

On a more happy note though: Carnaval is starting again! For those who are not familiar with it Carnaval is a holiday which last 5 days and is a tradition in the south of the Netherlands. People dress up in costumes and party for 5 straight days, it's a blast!

I never had to deal with getting beat up in school. EMOTIONAL bullying, on the other hand, I know all too well. People often made fun of my intelligence, as well as picking on me for my lack of friends. I wasn't a very good student for most of elementary and middle school, and the other kids made fun of me for being stupid, calling me retarded and other hurtful things. It didn't help that I wasn't good at socializing with people. When the other kids were spending recess playing, I spent it walking laps around the school by myself, occasionally having conversations with the teachers. My grades picked up around grade 11, and I ended up getting High Honors with Distinction.

I think the best way to deal with a Bully is just to beat the ever living shit out of him/her. That way they know who's boss and leaves you alone.

This is sorta unrelated, but this talk about retaliation reminds me of a time an old man was assaulted by a young punk on a bus. Turns out the old man was a World War II veteran who proceeded to kick his would-be assailant's ass.

I have an idea! If you have enough time/patience/money or whatever. Draw or ask someone for a commission where Maya get's a secret gift from an admirer, or something like that. :maya: What do you think?

So you're telling us that while love for fictional characters isn't okay in a school environment, Alter Ego, a FICTIONAL CHARACTER is acceptable? That's not only a contradiction that's just blatant favoritism, and you call yourself a SHSL Hall Monitor. :edgeworth:

Its a stupid pointless LP where people are allowed to input what buttons the game will press by means of peoples different comments. I find it dumb and pointless.

I don't know either why people are obsessed with it, but I'd like to see them try other games, like maybe a Mario or a Zelda game. Of course, the only reason they're able to get that far is because Pokemon doesn't require any quick button presses; you can play it at any speed you want.

Luckily I never had the beating up, either. I overall had some mild stuff. You know, like... this one time, on the playground during recess... playing tag with a bunch of other kids. New round, we were all ready and 'It' was counting down to the starting point... when they started... they all went for me and tried to pull my skirt down.
That's one reason why I don't wear skirts. But then, I also had some shorts on underneath the skirt.
Still annoying... I kicked at them and ran to safety. Or this other time, where I found my backpack had been thrown down a flight of stairs and some of my stuff was littered on the ground... not quite bullying, but definitely annoying.

I don't know what was worse. The times when I was bullied or the times when I was pitied.
I fucking hate being pitied!

Depends... if it's only one bully, sure, it's a tactic. But if there are several, you might not have a chance to physically fight them.
Which is why I hate it when the people in charge (teachers, superiors, etc.) do nothing about that kind of thing.

To counter that I say to round up a bunch of friends who have been bullied and fight back in order to even up the numbers. I agree with you though that its stupid that adults don't do nothing about it which is why I say its best to fight back.

There is so much to stuff in those cases, no wonder there tons of movies about it. Yes sometime school do nothing, sometime because they do not have time, sometime because they lack the ressources (really a suspension is going to punish the kid? for him it's only a day off), because they lack of proof, because parent are very uncooperative. Seriously except of being laught out because of my weight I wasn't bullied. I had it the easy way because I kept being nice, so people started to watch for me at a certain point.

About the fighting back... I'm very uneasy with the concept. First you look more like the real culprit when you do that, especially when adults are not aware of it. Also I'm the kind of person who do not believe that pain is solve by watching people suffer, not only because it is a real vicious circle. For me it's just plain old stupid.

No one has the real answer...

Well except maybe that experiment about group and power trip. The last english one date a lot, but the core is still there. It consisted about dividing the class into two group and giving one of them the most privileges and the second one would be treated like crap for a week. The second week you inverse the team so they learn about persecution and stuff.

Now the real problem with that is that if the kid have older sibbling well the experiment is a faillure as soon as they know that it is an experiment and not real life.
