"Y-you're welcome, Flo. I'm happy to help!" Jay chirped after the near-kiss left him blsuhing. She said he was strong... Perhaps she was right. The strength of his heart, the strength of his mind... far outweighed the strength of his body.

"Van sacrificed himself to save somebody. He grew a conscience after nearly executing on his plan... Charlie regretted her actions immediately. How could she have known what she did would kill him? Sa... Sayako... she cared enough about me that she sacrificed herself so I wouldn't do what she did... if only she'd known I can't bring myself to k-kill anyone, not then, not ever. Alchie and SiRReN gave into their paranoia and fear... They were so scared... We are all so scared, but they let that fear overcome them. That fear led to the deaths of Karega, Cesar, and Crimson... Subaru may have wanted and embraced death, but I'm sure he was afraid as well. Connie... I guess she was just willing to do anything to escape, however you wish to define 'escape.'

One common thread draws all this together though: The one who locked us up in here. The one who disrupted our school life from the very beginning. The one who's done nothing but play with our minds, our talents, our emotions, and our memories. As long as we can all come together against him, we can do this. We will escape! While Jay muched on his breakfast, he thought of Sakura. She was the hardest-hit out of all of them. With how much Jay thought he cared about Sayako, he was still able to stay strong and encourage the others. When he thought about how horrible she must be feeling... about how she tried to save Sayako's life by lying about her shoulder pain... that was it. Tears welled up in his eyes again and he quickly reached for a napkin to wipe them away before they fell into his food.

'Sakura had tried to save Sayako, who was trying to save me, who was going to try to save others from Charlie... It's all one big long chain of sacrifice after sacrifice after sacrifice.' Jay thought.

Matt came out of his room a few minutes later thsn usual, stretching. He picked up some spicyfoods and a glass of icrd tea, placing them on a platter and bringing it to a table. He didn't seem very shaken by what had happened, but he seemed a little sad. Not much, but still sad.

He sat silently at his table, eating without talking too much.

'Someplace to be? Hey! Where are you off to?' Jay wanted so badly to say, but it merely remained in his thoughts as he continued to reminisce, and mourn, and feel. It was strange, really. Jay's emotions had gotten the best of him multiple times during this game and he thought they would drive him mad, causing him to lash out at people or do something he would regret. And yet, somehow, his mind was able to switch back to the logical, rational side and drag him back down to reality. As Jay finished his breakfast and walked over to wash his dishes, he didn't hold back. He felt, and felt, and felt, wiping away the tears which showed no signs of stopping. Now that he had helped others, he could finally help himself. He wished that the handle of the faucet could control his tear ducts, but alas it had no effect. He turned off the water and placed the dishes, which were as wet as his face, into the drying rack.He wanted nothing more than to just be done with this, to be able to stride out of the entrance and move on. Or, perhaps, wake up in his room and have this all turn out to be one crazy nightmare and reconvene with all of his lost friends. 'And you were there! And you too! And we all started killing each other! There was an entire tropical island, a moonbase, and a haunted hotel! It was all kinds of crazy and all kinds of sad. Th-thank goodness it wasn't real...' Jay mused. Alas, life proved once again to be simply unfair.

A couple of days later, when people had gathered in the cafe again, Sakura finally emerged from her room. She was clearly worse for the wear, and the curly side of her hair was starting to wilt, but it seemed she'd been eating at least, even though no-one had managed to see her at the cafe at any point.

She didn't greet anyone, instead silently fetching her breakfast and then sitting down next to Arthur, who she began to talk privately to.

Jay had begun to realize that everyone had fallen into aimlessness. It had been a couple days since the end of the trial which led to the tragic loss of one of everyone's best friends. Monokuma hadn't popped up to show them what lies behind Door 5. To be honest, Jay wasn't eager to find out. He knew it would certainly involve another stage in the Killing Game. In any case, Jay had had plenty of time to reflect on the events of his summer school stay at Hope's Peak.

When Sakura entered the room, Jay perked up a bit and gasped, "Sakura!" but then returned to his solemn expression. Sakura looked in no shape to be talked to, so Jay simply let her talk to Arthur while he finished breakfast and washed his dishes like he'd done every day for the past couple.

Gone was the bright, cheery, hopeful student body from the beginning of their stay, replaced with an empty shell of depression, misery, and despair. Everyone just wanted out. That was all there was to it.

Sneaking into the cafeteria after Monokuma revealed that there was a mastermind, Ryuji crept quietly into the kitchen. Monokuma's revelation had dampened the group spirit even further, but Ryuji had decided that he would but his trust in the others.

"Ehehehe..." Ryuji whispered quietly to himself. "You've out done yourself this time, Ryuji Arisato...!"

Making sure no one else was in the cafeteria, he put a tray of freshly baked cookies by the cafeteria entrance.

"These cookies will unite us...No one can resist chocolate chips, not even this presumed mastermind."

Snickering, Ryuji crept into his room, awaiting the following morning.

Arthur walked into the cafe where he was greeted by a smell he hadn't smelled in a while. Thinking it odd, he slowly walked towards the source.

"Chocolate chip cookies?" Arthur said. "Here? Now? That's... suspicious."

Arthur carefully took one of the cookies and placed it on top of him. He looked at it like it was an animal hunting him. Studied it.

Rather than take a bite, he carefully opened the cookie down the middle. He placed his pinky finger into the center of one half, and got gooey chocolate chip bits on it, smelled it, and then slowly dabbed it on his tongue.

Tasting it for a moment, he concluded. "No... no cyanide. Hmmm.... maybe sodium pentothal? No, that couldn't work ingested-- it would have to be injected. You'd need to eat much more than could be used here. What other kinds of poison can I rule out here?"

He sat, studying the cookie and thinking.

"Cookies!? Really? Don't mind if I do!" Jay exclaimed as he took a huge bite out of it. Jay arrived back at the entrance to the cafeteria after running around for a bit. Seeing Flo trying to eat celery made Jay feel a bit sorry for her.

"Hey flo!" Jay called, "Um, I know you think you need to go on a diet, but... I like you the way you are. You look great just as is. Plus, let's focus on getting out of here first. Then, if it will make you feel better, I'll help you stay on target, okay? Although, some exercise might do us good. Can I join you guys?"

Ryuji led the others to the fitness center that they found in Door 4. A bit nervous of entering again, he noticed the voices of the ghosts were gone and let out a sigh of relief. Once they got there, they found state of the art equipment in a spacious and well-lit room.

"Ooh! This is almost as good as the ones they make me use!"

Ryuji examined some of the equipment, and found everything suitable to use.

"A-All right!" Ryuji said. "We can do the Ultimate Actor training regimen, or the leisurely exercise to take your mind off things regimen! You guys choose."
