Seriously? I mean, okay, if I was asked to recall the plot of an RPG I played, I might break it down to the point - like how Symphonia was mostly about racism or XIII about the futile attempt at trying to escape their fate. Or even how Graces is about... what was that about again? But if I was asked in detail, I might be able to do that.

I stand by it, Cloud was an incredibly boring character for me. Nothing he did was overly new, he was - as people like to mislabel heroes these days - an "emo douche" and other than that gave me no good impression. Or a lasting one, I could cut him out and replace him with almost any other RPG hero, and the result would be the same.

And Light showed more emotions after a while. Part of the XIII games felt like a subplot of it, a small one, was to have Light show a bit more vulnerability as it went on. XIII did a decent job, she started to become less angry when she talked with Hope in front of Carbuncle and even got past her dislike of Snow, even giving her blessing at the end. XIII-2 and LR I'll see as separate from that. XIII-2 had her realize that she needed help in trying to take Caius down, and realizing later that she sent her sister to her doom. LR was definitely about her becoming more vulnerable and cutting out her weakness and selfishness was not the way to become strong. (This is spoiler, but it is pretty much DONE in one of the ending scenes)

And I'll say it again, had Snow been the main focus, I would never have finished XIII. Optimism is good and all, but his was too longlasting and too misplaced, he was too enthusiastic. I can't deal with a hothead and overactive hero anymore, it annoys me and I feel like shoving some damn ritalin down his throat.

And yes, I will not bother about that anymore, since you obviously seem to overreact to even a slight hint of sexualizing a character. So why bother.

Lots of things annoy you though apparently except for the female version of Cloud...a character you said you hated...you are just a paradox in yourself.

Cat you once said if people can't handle criticism they shouldn't really be on the internet. You shouldn't just go ignoring people's opinions like that. I'm all fine for letting things lie but ending things with "you are clearly overreacting" is downright insulting and disregards the other person entirely.

It's possible to be sexy without resorting to something that looks like it came from a sex shop. A nice dress or maybe some well placed facial hair amongst other things can an attractive character on their own. Lightning already had enough sex appeal by being generally attractive (par the course for most video game/film characters after all), when she needs to resort to ridiculous clothes that's when things get stupid.

Yeah, if it gets solved, the world will end. I like Light cause she's tolerable and actually did something that I had expected Cloud to do, but he didn't. She smacked Snow. Cloud just stood there when characters were annoying, being all, "...whatever" meaning he was the Proto!Squall of its time.

Well, you do seem to be overreacting. I just can't get the idea why you are so against the clothes, if you are never forced to use them. Like the mere existence of them is faulty. Why can't you show some tolerance that the clothes look revealing - and I'll be honest, some of them look incredibly silly, but then what can I expect from an FF design - but since nobody is every really forced to use them, it doesn't matter.
The only time we're forced into a certain outfit on-screen is once during the intro, which you can change once you reach the Ark, and the one scene in Yusnaan, where she is forced to wear an Evening Dress. I could see your point in oversexualization if I was maybe forced to wear Nightmare or similar garbs, but I'm not.
So really, anyone can play the game like those outfits don't exist.

Also if anyone was over/sexualized in the XIII games it was Vanilla in XIII itself

So because she hates a character you hate openly whereas Cloud actually has sense not to attack his teammates?

I was saying that she is sexualized in XIII when she shouldn't be, I wasn't trying to turn the entire subject to that... although she is. Even if Cuylenburg or whoever voices Vanilla in English may seem sexy doesn't mean her character has to be sexy. Vanilla wasn't supposed to be sexy, she was supposed to be cute.

And I still can't understand why the mere existence of not-forced outfits bothers you so much. If it was forced, I'd understand it. But it's not, so you really seem to complain about nothing - you remind me of the people on the LR board who repeatedly open up topics about "So the ending is basically..." and we always get to the discussion "Is it earth? It's not earth, it's totally france, wait it's not france, it was made to look like it, bla bla bla" can't they just leave it the fuck alone? Who cares if the ending looks like it takes place on earth?

LR isn't the first game that has an ending where the world suddenly looks like our earth, games have been doing it years before hand. Terranigma was basically about our world. Illusion of Gaia heavily hinted that it would become our modern world. Romancing Saga 3's Ending has what looks our earth being formed...
