As everyone is "enjoying" the festivities, Daniel hears a sickly bubbling noise, like boiling molasses. He turns to look down the street. There, creeping its way across the tarmac, is what looks to be pitch flooding out from somewhere. It creeps closer and closer and the group can hear that those plopping noises are coming from it, whatever it is. The pitch splits and heads two different ways, avoiding the group where they stand. They watch as the thick tendrils of the puddle begin to crawl up the sides of the food carts. Daniel watches as the goo begins to wrap around the meatballs on the cart and each one gets sucked into the goo with an audible burp. It exhibits a near-insatiable hunger as it crawls from sausage to eggroll to cake pop, chowing down on each one. Soon it starts on the next cart and the next one. "Ita-daki-masu," comes a voice from it. It sounds distracted, very deep, and filled to the absolute brim with food, like in between each low syllable its still trying to choke down a corn muffin. It seemingly otherwise ignores them as it goes to work. |

After a while of lip-smacking and chewing, the tar-like creature has eaten every last bite of food. It sits there, just slipped all over the road and the food carts, when a low grumbling noise comes from it. "Scraps? Is this all? This is no feast," it chokes out, between crunching noises. "I gave you your food, your water, and yet I get this? You would not live if not for me. I need more." |

"What the--" Daniel is suddenly interrupted while eating a steak. Seeing the tar thing try to eat the food, he decides to leave his own plate at the table, backing away relatively fast. He stares in horror as all the precious food is wasted by the thing, stricken by fear until after Brandy asks who that is. "Now slow down Satan, how'm I supposed to believe whatever this is just summoned up a river and dirt outta nowhere? It can't even make its own food!" He grunts in annoyance at the thing's manners, interrupting his dinner-lunch feast like that. |

Oliver winced a bit at the mention of Bennett's name, and very swiftly backed away from the creature. He figured that is Bennett's corpse was eaten by it, maybe Lavender's was as well. "I have no intentions of being bitten..." he mumbled, carefully watching it, hoping that Daniel would be okay. |

Beelzebub seems to cower in front of Daniel, scooting away from his fists. "Just! One! Bite!" It lunges. Except Beelzebub doesn't go for Daniel. It lunges at Nail, who is off in his own world enjoying the festival. It bites down hard on his hand, drawing blood. "Yum!." They hear the sound of it licking its lips. |

Nail's aura changed so swiftly from mild amusement to thunderous anger, you'd expect he was about to commit a murder. "Filthy beast," he uttered coldly. "How dare you touch Me. That's going to cost you." He shook the demon off, and checked his hand, eventually scoffing at it. "You are lucky you did not harm Me further, otherwise I would extract the price from you and yours." He tore off a section of his robe and tied it around his hand, staunching the bleeding for the moment. "I believe that I have lost my appetite for the festivities. If you'll excuse me." |

The group approaches the car cautiously. The front of it seems to be mangled against the rock. Chunks of metal and plastic hang off of it. The front driver’s side is completely mangled beyond recognition. A popped tire sits several feet away. They can see a huge silver smear where the car ground against the wall. The car rests there, lifeless… silent. Spoiler: The Wreckage Spoiler: ??? ... "A BODY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED, PLEASE TAKE SOME TIME TO INVESTIGATE. THE TRIBUNAL WILL BEGIN SHORTLY." |

Benjamin and Matt both regain their consciousness as the group takes in the horror of the scene. They seem both hurt, but they decide to help the others investigate. Shizune is not here, but the ten split up, each one taking a different road. Spoiler: Investigation Teams Spoiler: Trial Resources The groups gather back at the elevator. Belphegor is there, waiting for them, Shizune is next to him in her wheelchair, looking anxious and as bad as ever. "Right this way, everyone. I hope you all are mentally prepared for this one. It's very... fun? I'll say it's fun." They pack into the elevator next to Belphegor. The doors close. ... They enter the stone altar room, the eleven of them and take their places. Spoiler: Debt "Is that too tame? No matter. This is a very serious trial regardless. If you cannot take two lives seriously then that is a problem this group will have to solve." "Welcome everyone to the third tribunal of your group. You know the score by now. Ciro is dead. It is up to you to find the tainted." Everyone stays silent waiting for the first person to speak up. "Well, personally I'm glad Ciro's dead. He was an absolute menace. You saw what he did to me. To us. That cave in was definitely a deadly attack." The voice is cruel and hollow. It sounds like it's coming from a tin can. The group turns toward the speaker. They see one of the masks from the festival yesterday, only this one covers the whole head. It looks like a smaller version of Belphegor, with pale green shimmering robes. It's Micah. It has to be. |
