And that's that!

Not many QTs to link this time, so here we go:

Spoiler: QTs

Now, at last, the name explanations. How many did you get?

Spoiler: Name Meanings
Promethea Creed: Follows the naming scheme of Phoenix and Apollo. (Prometheus stole fire from the gods to give to mortals.)
Kerberos Winchester: No pun or reference here. Same pattern as with most AA prosecutors.
Noxx Zo: XX is 20, as is ZO. The 20th tarot card is Judgement, relating to both his magic obsession and his profession.

Exie Thurman: Exothermic (hot).
Endea Thurman: Endothermic (cold).
Lucy Warner: Lukewarm.
Katherine Black: Black cats are sometimes considered an omen of bad luck. It also fit her personality.
Charlie Bolton: Bolton looks like a technician name but really he’s a charla-tan.
Don Carcharo: Easily my favourite name in the game. Sounds like a badass gangster name, but is also carcharodon, the great white shark.
Barry Star: Barry, deriving from the Latin barrus, meaning ‘elephant’, is oh who am I kidding. He’s a barista. Barry Star. Do you get it. Also, I missed the chance to mention it at the time so I may as well say it here: he’s trans. It wasn’t related to anything, it was just a character detail that was meant to be mentioned when he was brought to the stand to testify. Instead though he just sort of popped up and began speaking, so the opportunity was missed.

John De Silva: John De → Dijon → Mustard → Colonel Mustard. Silver for the “wealth” feeling.
Betty Keyesbergh: From “bouncing betty”. Tommy from “tommy gun”. Lastly, “Keys” due to being the manor’s housekeeper.
Rori Porter: He’s a reporter and I am a genius.
Deid Purson: This one’s subtle. You see, he’s a person, and he’s dead, making him a dead person.
Raphael Mann: Rifleman. Yes.
Liev Mann: I know how this looks, please believe me, I can come up with good name ideas too.
Sumbo Dee: Okay let’s just skip the list of platoon names shall we?
Loreley De Silva: Lorelei’s a siren-like legend, but additionally there’s ley De → lady. Margaret was a name chosen simply because it’s a plain, unappealing name.
Phini De Silva: I had to make this one up when it was first used. Derived from Delphini, from Delphinus, a constellation.
Philip Stone: Philosopher’s stone.
Herr Ingram Redd: Red herring innit.
Ali Bye: Okay we’re moving onto case 3 now.

Bobby Milverton: His dad’s a criminal, so his surname was the surname of a criminal. I wanted one which sounded reasonably high-class as well. And bobby is a cop.
Brook Milverton: Brook’s a crook.
Lea Marple: Mother of a detective, hence Marple. Lea’s just a name I liked.
Bux Biggson: Big bucks. Unironically my second favourite name in the game, and I think the first I came up with.
Mr Pink: This poor Numen thinks he can make himself more interesting by calling himself “Mr Pink”.
Ella P. Dee: LAPD, but also the Dee to Aiden’s Dum.
Aiden Dum: Addendum, but also Tweedledum.
Posey Glover: gosey plover, gossip lover.

I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit! Which is weird, since in the middle of it I lost all motivation and didn't post. It's probably because I went and reread the whole thing.

I really enjoyed the ideas and format (mostly) for this game, and the interactions in case 1 were really fun. Reading back on the cases now, stuff wasn't as confusing or strange as it was when I was in the middle of it. I do think some things here could use a little work, though that's just me.

Mainly near the end I kept thinking why we were still bothering to solve the case, since after the soup being served early was mentioned, Bobby should've been off the table. I know there's the whole Rogue Numen thing going on, but I remember originally the idea behind the game was to try and convince a judge which side was right, so it felt strange to keep thinking about the case (so I didn't) and solving it ended up having the defense lose. Everyone won in the end, technically, but it seemed a little odd to me. Perhaps the premise all along should've been trying to solve these mysterious deaths, instead of having a competition where the side with the most convincing argument "wins" would've been better.

All of the characters were really enjoyable, though. The witnesses, and the player characters! And the format each GM post game in was really fun to read through. I'm very glad this game happened, even if my activity in the middle of it dropped super super hardcore. Was fun and I'll probably reread it again in the near future (even if I'm still a liiiiiiiiiiiittle upset about barely missing the mark in Case 1)

Thank you Panda for running this game!

Okay yeah my activity in this game was kinda sucky but I think I learned that trying to do one of these during an actual semester at college is just a bad idea. I did enjoy it when I had enough energy to participate though, and playing as Akari was pretty fun. I think overall this game delivered on its promises very well.

The mysteries themselves for engaging with a lot of very clever twists (like the locked room in case 2 and just about everything in case 1). The characters were all colorful and interesting (except for three of them). Overall I just like the way they engaged with us as players. I also liked seeing the recurring characters get some development.

I did have trouble figuring out what the next course of action was, but that might have been just because I’m overworked and stupid. Seeing it all play out in the moment everything made sense.

Anyway game good, thanks for running it! Bobby why did you betray me

Thanks to Panda for running this game!

I apologize for my low engagement. I always felt stressed by the prospect of catching up in this game like I always had a lot to read. I don't consider this a fault of the design or the writing.
