[March 9; 9:45 am; court room]

*Garrett Hughes strolls casually over to the prosecutor's bench sipping coffee from a paper cup (3 creams, 12 sugars). He sets the coffee on the bench and takes off his coat, folding it neatly and setting it on the ground. He is messy in appearance, his suit is chocolate brown and only the top button is buttoned. His tie is very loose and his shirt's top button is unbuttoned.*

*He slips on a pair of reading glasses and begins to give the court record another look over while waiting for the judge to call the court into session.*

Lydia only paused as she stared at the opposing Prosecutor. She slightly pouted at how unprofessional he looked. A sigh escaping from her lips. But now- she had to concentrate. It was time to be helpful and observe the prosecution.. well.. Maybe learn something useful. If he acts as professionally as he looks. then... she was doomed. But oh well, She wasn't prosecution today.. or matter of fact until she goes into the field. Today she was the defense's aid.

She was clad in a Leather Boustier ontop of a simple white shirt with Puffy sleeves, much like her cousins. A Miniskirt aslo was thrown into the mix. Underneath lie a pair of Pantyhose. In the back attached to the Boustier is a tail much like in a Tail coat.

She sighed and sat down looking up at Mr. Shore. she paused. "M... Mr. shore? are you ready?" she paused and looked at him. I mean come on, she was nervous since he looked so young.
('I hope.. he's got experience.')

Even though she may have been younger than he is, she was just more professional about court. Be it Defense aid or Dream job Prosecution.

At ten o' clock exactly, Darian Fossil enters the court room and takes his seat at the Judge's bench. Placing some papers in front of him, he looks up to see a half-filled courtroom.

"Dear me, I see keeping time isn't a priority to some people. I just hope our defense attorny does show up. It gets so uninteresting when they chicken out..." He sighs. "Well, just tell me when you are ready to begin."

*Hughes loudly sets down the file he was looking through and folds his reading glasses, sliding them into his pocket.*

The prosecution is ready, your honor!

And it looks as though the defense is only half ready. Please stop staring at me, miss, it's a little unnerving.

Vincent Shore walked up to the defense bench out of breath. "Sorry...I'm late...I overslept..." He brushed off his red jacket and fixed his ebony and crimson hair. "The defense is ready, Your Honor." It was then that he noticed the man behind the prosecutor's bench. "Hey! Aren't you Garrett Hughes, the guy I met yesterday? I thought you were a teacher! What are you doing here?!"

Oh, what can I say Mr. Shore? I guess I just love to surprise people. A man "goes away" for a while, comes back and decides to be a prosecutor... And when I noticed this case, well, let's just say I HAD to have this one.

But I do believe I'm getting ahead of myself. The prosecution is ready as well, your honor, thus making us both ready.

"Well, let's get started then."

Judge Fossil checks the papers on his desk.

"Court is now in session for the trial of Bryce Velvet for the murder of his teacher, Karen Sharp."

"Dear me, we had a little more respect for our elders when I was a school boy. Have standads gone down that much?"

"But this isn't about my opinions. The Prosecution may make its opening statement."

Thank you, your honor.

March, 7 of this year. An average day for you and me, but the day of reckoning for Miss Karen Sharp. Her life was tragically cut short that night, cut short by one of her own students, whom she vowed to grant the gift of knowlege to. In a bizarre homicidal rage he murdered Karen Sharp! This is the only logical conclusion the prosecution can present, as we have decisive evidence and decisive witnesses that all lead up to just that: Bryce Velvet, the defendant, murdered Karen Sharp on that night...

...And there is no power on this earth that will stop me from getting him the verdict he deserves.

Lydia flinched at the court record's autopsy. She shuddered as the words, "Slit throat" rang loud in her mind. Her hand now sliding across her throat to make sure if she was alright. She was kinda freaked out.

Testimony

-Facts of the case-

-The victim died from loss of blood, due to her throat being slit by a sword.

-When we arrived at the scene of the crime we found the principal, Mr. Velvet, holding the defendant who appeared to be shivering.

-After examining the crime scene we arrested the defendant because of the two pieces of decisive evidence we found.

-First was the murder weapon, which the defendants fingerprints are all over and had the victim's blood on it. Further investigation found that the sword belonged to the defendant.

-Secondly the defendant's jacket was covered with blood that was found to be the victims.

She yawned some, head tilting to the side, "Yes.. very clean cut...." she shuddered as she made the comment.. "Clean.. cut.." she whimpered and shoved her head into Vincent's arm. "Aaaahh!" she was shaking somewhat.

She looked up, "I-.. I'm sorry.." she whimpered as she looked up while rubbing her neck. "mm..." she wanted to cry. the thought of the pain made her weak in the knees. She sniffled, "I'm.. Alright.." she breathed heavily. "eep.."

"Yes, let's try to keep a strong head here. If you don't think you can handle this, it would be better to leave now before we get into the details." There is a touch of sympathy in the judge's voice.

"A very clear report there, detective. The defense may begin the cross examination when they are ready."

No it isn't. Common sense dictates that you had to arrive a little bit after the murder, so some time after 6 P.M. Am I correct, detective?

Two pieces of decisive evidence pal,and I think we also pulled the grade records for the defendant as well. Besides those there wasn't anything else.

You must not have performed a very thorough search. When I saw the crime scene, there were some pieces of evidence I found interesting. THREE pieces, to be exact. You missed one. There was a bloody footprint found by the open window at the scene. The blood that formed the print was rather fresh. Now, Detective, doesn't it seem possible that the footprint could be caused by someone escaping out the window? The REAL killer perhaps?!

Gumshoe froze, his mind in a panic. Finally he remembered that he had seen it, but had passed it off as from the defendant"Um... I think the defendant made that footprint.

No offense, detective, but that doesn't make sense. The defendant was being detained by the principal when you arrived.

But if he opened the window right after the murder, he wouldn't have been shivering when you came! It doesn't get cold THAT quickly, even in this time of year!

I think the defense has forgotten something very important. The footprint was NOT a bloody footprint. The footprint was a light footprint that consisted of mostly dirt. There's no accurate way to tell how fresh it is other than the fact that it SEEMS fresh... At least right now.

*Garrett shoots a knowing look to the defense*

I also hold that it has nothing to do with the murder. In fact, there was a fire drill not too long ago, and seeing as though the fire escape is right out the window, I'm willing to bet that the footprint is from that drill.

((Seriously, the footprint wasn't bloody. I probably should've said that... My oops...))

...But that's just a theory. And if the defense is quite done, I'd like to move on to my first witness...

((Trust me when I say that you already have the information you need.))
