I chose Not Guilty so De Killer would kill him. I had a lotta trouble in that case so I wanted to make him suffer.

As much as it pained me to do so, I picked Guilty.

Spoiler:
Even though I wanted to save Maya, I also knew I couldn't allow an innocent women to be executed and a murderer get away scott-free. I felt bad enough stalling by pinning the crime on Adrian for so long, and the crowds rants were also a stab to the back, but the thought of poor Maya's life being held by a thread was what almost broke me. When it came down to that choice, that was probably the point in the series where I truly felt connected to Phoenix, that I wasn't just controlling what he did, but it felt like I really was him behind the desk, trying to make the choice that would decide the fates of a number of people, and the emmense relief and happiness I had when Maya was saved and greeted Pearl and Phoenix with a big group hug.

Though sometimes I can't help but think of what would had happened had Franziska not came in at that moment...

With that case, there actually was someone other than the defendant who could have killed Elg, as anyone who has finished the case knows. However, in this case, the only two people who could have hired de Killer were Adrian and Matt. If Matt is declared innocent, then Adrian would have no way out.

Well, to answer my own question, I chose guilty, just becuase Maya said she wouldn't forgive me if I let him get off. I think that note on the back of the picture might have been Maya telling Phoenix that she would be willing to make the sacrifice if need be. But thats just my interpretation.

Just a question... but why do a lot of people do it because Maya told them to? If Maya died, how do you think Pearl would feel? Heartbroken probably.

I chose Guilty. Forget why though. I think it was because I really hated Engarde, but I may have also not cared much for Maya.

Real-life law =/= Phoenix Wright law.

The fact still remains that while there were two women whose lives were on the line, only one of those was in immediate danger. Even if the chances of saving Adrian were slim to none, that's more of a chance Maya had if you didn't do what de Killer demanded.

I don't really understand why I'm the only one expected to defend my choice just because most of the other people in this thread went "I hated Jerkface Matt more than I liked Maya and she said she was willing to die to get him anyway so I should honor her wishes." :yuusaku:

Another question: what did you pick the second time you had to choose?

I chose Guilty because you can't go around letting criminals meet their deaths in dark alleys. Justice has to be seen to be done.

I picked same as the first, because Enguarde's still a sociopathic bastard who needs to go die in a fire. I did end up royally messing up that last "present evidence/who you want to show it to" bit on purpose though, just to see the bad ending, but I'd saved before that bit, so after watching the Bad ending I just went back and cleared it.

I really didn't care about Maya, but I've always felt that it was my duty to make sure my client got a fair trial, regardless of whether he did t or not.
Phoenix disagrees, and that's the direction the game went.
To be fair, if my client WANTS to confess, then that's perfectly okay with me.

Because I'm a goody two-shoes.

And because I knew that the writers wouldn't have the nerve to kill off Maya because they'd be aware of the angry mob that would come to disembowel them.

I picked "Guilty," both times I had the option.

I'd rather Engarde pay than Adrian die, even if it costs Maya; besides, Phoenix would get no end of shit from :maya: if he let Matt off.

True, if Fran hadn't come in with the evidence right then, there's a chance that Maya would've ended up dying anyway. But :pearl: could always still channel her...

I actually haven't beaten the case yet, but I have watched a video of it, and the person in the video picked guilty. I'm picking not guilty, just to see his other reaction (even though he's gonna rip his face up either way). I would probably pick not guilty anyway, because my sexy Matty doesn't belong in prison. *cling*
