I mean, Mia says Engarde will receive justice either way, but if you say not guilty and he didn't confess, Adrian would still be found guilty of murder

He confessed because he would've been killed. He preferred going to prison than dying. Therefore, the final choice doesn't matter, because he will be found guilty either way.

The situation is pretty much a stalemate - You could take any way and you would still have someone who would have to take damage.

I can understand why you'd think that, since the decision was brought up before in the case.

You need to think about it though, Matt has been exposed for his true crime. And even if Adrian was brought to court, she'd most likely be cleared of suspicion since Matt's plan was exposed. Besides, Matt loses either way in "life". If he's found "Not Guilty", De Killer would've got to him.

...That's what I personally think. Feel free to contradict me. =)

I didn't know before I read about it either.
If you present the wrong evidence at the final part with Franziska showing up, you get to see a sequence with the bad ending.

The bad ending was so sad. I almost cried, if not for my family being in the same room. But then I replayed it to get the good ending again, just to make myself feel better xD

I never saw the bad ending, I got the good one at the first try and finished the game before I knew that there was a bad ending. I've looked at the artworks though, seems to be pretty frustrating and sad.
