A new section is required under Games.

-Teams-

What does it do?

Teams is a section where you can create a club thread with your team, which has to be registered first. The FAQ is listed below.

Which stickies does it need?

Basically, the Rules and the "Ask for a Team" thread.

-----

Which rule must be followed?

Don't create a "L0L- N0 WAY!!!1! N33D T3aM!!!!!!!1!!!!!1" thread asking for a team, because that just won't get you one. And all the other forum rules apply too. :franny:

What if a team wishes to disband?

Their leader (or original poster) will have to report his own first post, asking it to be locked after editing the first post to say the team disbanded.

What if just one member wishes to leave?

If a member leaves, please add a message stating that they left (and some proof, such as a PM, e-mail, or post (preferrably post) under said message) and if the original poster were to leave, then the team will ask to lock the thread and they will have to choose a new poster to create a new thread. :lana:

What is considered proof?

A formal message, stating that they left the team on the original thread or by another means. :edgy:

This is considered correct-

Please do not take this personally.

This is considered incorrect- :sadshoe:

You can easily tell the difference here.

Can a team be locked by a moderator and/or administrator?

Yes, if a team proves itself to be a waste of space, said thread may be locked, or, if lucky, just edited. Flaming is the most common item.

What if a person wishes to be in a team?

They just post that they want to join into the team formally and it is up to the original poster and/or current leader (which is usually the same person) to decide if they need the person who wants to join.

Please post if you wish to be in a team and you will get your answer by PM or in thread.

How to behave during rejections.

If you do get said answer, please do not continuously flame them if you are rejected as you may get banned and all the flaming posts will be deleted and any relevance to that may be deleted as well.

If it has relevance to the post, but has something for the team, the post may be edited, instead of deleted, to not have relevance to flamer.

If flamer will try to flame again, then a moderator is free to ban them temporarily. If still continued for a long period of time, the thread will be forced to be re-created under a different name and the flamer may be banned permanently.

Please behave properly.

I just want to join any team.

Well, there's another sticky for that. It's right here (at the moment, it leads you the the index page.)

What if I want to help give someone help?

Either post in the same sticky, or just PM a person who needs help.

My team created a game! Where do I post it?

In the Games section, unless you don't want it released or it's in a dangerously unstable version or, most commonly, incomplete.

If you created a stable game, but not let it be released, then send the link of the complete version to everyone by PM. We won't check it out.

Nobody posts anymore! What do I do?

Check if they are active. They have been inactive for over a month, PM them to make sure they remember. You'll either get a quitting slip, an accidental mistake slip, or nothing because they were gone for over a month on the forums, not the thread.

If you don't get a reply in over a week, then read Questions 2 and 3.

If you have to disband, but can continue the project on your own, it is highly recommended that you do that or join another team.

You missed something... I want to add it

PM the original poster of this FAQ (or the thread creator) and he/she will try and add it if it's any relevance and if an answer if already there, then the person will get some help from a moderator or just a pointing to the FAQ.

-----

I wasted a week on this idea. I want it added to get rid of spam and help newbies. I know more, I just didn't add it.

Sorry, but it sounds pretty dumb.

When a team starts working on a game, they usually do so in secret (as to not spoil the whole thing) or through pm's , a separate dev. forum or otherwise.
In order for this to work, one would have to create a separate sub section, with limited viewing privileges for those appointed, etc.
Far more trouble for mods/admins then what's it's worth.

Also, I believe the fangame wiki has a separate forum just for this purpose.

So, It's not likely to happen.

O... kay.

It's just... let me see... How many threads does that section has?

Nearly 4,000 threads and exactly 189,905 posts... hmmm...

Nope, I forgot why did I make it in the first place. If a team wants to release something public or just can't get together, then that's an idea. Not great, but hey. Worked last few times for me.

Other forums had too much spam about teams meeting up somewhere, so I just added that as an idea. Never got the mod position there, unlike another (dead) forum.

Like I said to you in PM, under the current system threads are created by people who have an idea for a game/have already made a game. If they need help, they will say so in their thread (we set up a creator's template for this purpose). If someone wants to join a game, they can browse the threads currently up and see if anything has a need for their particular skill set.

Like Ceres said you might want to check out this forum if you're this interested in fan games: http://www.gyakutenwiki.net/forums/
